I've only been driving for 3 years (late bloomer - haha); we went from no cars to 2 cars pretty quick and I can't imagine life without wheels. Today, my husband and I crossed paths at the bank in our cars - it struck me as a bit silly with the gas prices and such that we often go to the same places for different reasons in separate cars. The 2 days my car was in the shop was hard on me so I can relate.
Thanks, AMD.
It is an inconvenience, for sure.
I just thought to myself that today would be a perfect day for a drive in the country with Harlowe, and then I remembered I don't have a car to drive! ;)

If I lived closer, we'd go together with cameras at the ready.

Evening all. I hope you had a great Sunday. Mine was pretty low key, especially with the weather which is pretty wet, lots of flooding in places unfortunately. Enjoy what's left of the weekend.
Good evening, 'Tis~
Sorry to hear about the flooding.
Hope you see more dry weather & sunshine soon. Stay safe.
Have a good night!

Harlowe is doing pretty good, thanks!

How is Meca?

My father-in-law is still in the hospital, they haven't gotten back all of the neurology test that they ran. The ones that they did review made them want to switch some of his medicines again, so that's what they did on Friday, and are keeping him for observation. Adrian is on the way to spend the day with him, so hopefully we'll know more from this visit. He seems to be hanging in okay, and not in as much pain.
Thank you for asking!
I'm glad Harlow is better. Praying for you FIL, too.

Evening greetings - thoughts are turning to gifts given and gifts received; hoping to find something interesting for my parents this year.
I received this once upon a time from an Ornament Exchange that held more than an ornament inside.

She didn't offer up any hints this morning. My parents don't have room for anymore festive knick-knacks and I don't either, but I'll make room. The last few years my dad keeps talking about the guests and fellowship meaning more than the gifts and I get that, but my mother and I aren't ready to stop exchanging gifts. I'm going to help them decorate this year and that will be heaps of fun.
August isn't over yet and I'm thinking of all things Christmas - sure is great having this merry hang-out close at hand with like minded individuals to share my moment of festive madness with and have it not seem strange in the least.

The time may come when I'll have to give one of my kidneys to my mom as I'm the only one in the family with the same blood type. I'm glad he's doing well. I have a huge scar from my gall bladder surgery back in the Fall of '90. It was supposed to be routine for me, but once they got in there it was a mess. The gall stones had escaped and were passing through the duodenum. I was in the hospital for nearly 3 weeks. Sure happy your brother got out so quickly and is mending well.
Oh my! I hope you mom doesn't have to have a transplant, but it's wonderful that you're ready to help. In November, it'll be 10 years for us, and going strong!

Good evening, AMD!
I can't stop thinking about the holidays, either!
Hope you find the perfect gift for your parents, although I'm sure they'll cherish whatever you give.

That's wonderful news for you and your brother. I don't know about my mom, there are several test results they're waiting to receive; I sure hope it turns out to be nothing. Gosh, my parents have been through enough the last 11 years. It was harder to cheer her up today than usual. I don't bring up the medical stuff, I let her direct the conversation. My dad doesn't always tell me the whole truth because he doesn't want me to worry even after I told him that I worry more when I don't know than when I do. They're lucky to have each other and still such sweethearts.
