Woke up with a slight cold. I felt it coming yesterday. Throat still sore but coping. Isaac is till unwell but in good spirits. Not sending him to nursery today though. He needs his mummy. Have a fun Friday!

Good Friday morning friends! I thought it would never get here. We actually have a few gifts bought already which is unusual for us. I'm looking forward to wrapping gifts! Have a great day everybody!

Good Friday Morning, MMC! The weekend is finally here. I am going to be at an annual church conference for our state today with my husband (it's nice to both be chaplains and get to do things together!), and that isn't work-it's meeting people and spending time together learning, so I'm considering it a day off! Tomorrow morning I start 8K training-the race is mid-November, when my husband is running--wait for it--THE MARATHON. What? He's out running right now--very dedicated. I'm proud of him! But-5 miles is enough for me-six is my max. Hope you all have some wonderful plans for the weekend!! Enjoy and find time to relax!! I know I will. Perhaps some Christmas music is in order!

I had a nice time with my Mom, thank you. My parents are heading to Pennsylvania tomorrow so she just wanted to squeeze in a quick visit.

Good Morning!!! Guess what, I am not at work, it's a miracle. Today is the start of a 3 day weekend for me. I actually will be just doing things around the house today like, I have Home Depot coming here in about an hour to install a six foot French door down in the basement and remove the slider that's in there now. Then I have an appointment here at the house at 10, for a contractor to give me a price to look at bringing in a piece of equipment and removing part of a hillside and installing a retaining wall. And the exterminator will be here at 12 to give me a price to spray and treat around my garage, I found termites in it this past weekend. Looks like they just started munching away at some wood that was wet. So, this will take care of them.... Plan to have a work around the house weekend....

Happy Friday MMC! I am happy to report that even after one dose of meds Andre has perked up. Definitely seems like he is getting back to his energetic self! Tonight my oldest daughter has her Starlight Social dance. She is getting ready at her friend's house along with 8 other girls. So I told her friend's Mom that I would come over and help her out, as I am sure at least one of the 13 y/o will have a hair crisis. .lol! Not too much else is planned for the weeked. We have a soccer game tomm night under the lights but otherwise pretty quiet! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!View attachment 13375

"Happy" Friday my MMC Friends! I don't even know where to begin today! We had so much fun going out with the girls last night. We ate at a Mexican restaurant that is not as good as our favorite place, but it has outdoor seating. Food was ok - atmosphere, GREAT! We stayed out too late - our hubby's met up with us. Great night! This morning I woke up tired thinking "TGIF!" Then I got the dreaded text - my friend from the lake passed away this morning. She has been battling cancer (cancer sucks!) for a long time & was doing well with it until a couple weeks ago, she got results that it had spread into her bones. They put her on new meds & then she went downhill so fast & now it's over. And then to top it off, today is my brother Mike - who passed away 3 1/2 year ago - birthday! Can I just go back to bed & start over??
I never want to be a downer on this Merry site, so please forgive me!! I'm just sad today!

So sorry it's such a lousy day. But DON'T feel like you can't mention it here. No one in the human race can be Little Mary Sunshine all, the time. Life doesn't work like that. We want to know so we can help, or at least feel with you. Spider Robinson said, "Shared joy is increased; shared pain is lessened."

I thought that I would be able to check-in a few times today. Instead, I was quite busy teaching at Russell. For the most part, the students were pretty good. It was a great way to end the week.

I am not too sure what the weekend has in store. I am really hoping to get out for a run tomorrow morning before the rain comes. We'll see how it goes.

** TRAVEL ALERT **

With the rental season at an end, I am voyaging to the coast tomorrow morning to see how the cottage fared.
My plan is to post tomorrow's count and return late Sunday, meaning that a guest poster will only be needed for Sunday morning.
However, if I find major problems that need attention, I might not drive back until Monday, meaning the guest poster would have to cover Monday morning's count as well.
(If I haven't posted by about 9:30 Monday morning, assume I'm not!)

Any takers??

I am going to volunteer for this. Has anyone accepted yet?

Edit: Upon further inspection, it appears that nobody has volunteered yet. Have a safe trip, Crown! I'll do my best to keep your seat warm!

There is a place I always stop at about half way between here and the beach. It used to have a year-round Christmas shop but in recent years, only has it during the season.
I am hopeful they might have something out by now.

Watching TCM tonight, they are having an Abbott and Costello Marathon. Plus they are airing short flicks about Buying Defense Bonds and stuff...

Don't get much of a chance to see this kind of stuff to often! So, since its me, myself and I tonight, we get to watch whatever we want, eat all the bad stuff we want and enjoy the moment.....

Sounds like you are having a "Home Alone" type of night. Have fun eating junk and watching...can't call Abbott and Costello rubbish, but you get the drift.

I am so sorry for your loss, you never have to apologize to us here for being sad. We are a Christmas family and we stand by each other when times are tough. I will keep you in my thoughts.
