Good evening, friends!
Have a merry night!

"Happy" Friday my MMC Friends! I don't even know where to begin today! We had so much fun going out with the girls last night. We ate at a Mexican restaurant that is not as good as our favorite place, but it has outdoor seating. Food was ok - atmosphere, GREAT! We stayed out too late - our hubby's met up with us. Great night! This morning I woke up tired thinking "TGIF!" Then I got the dreaded text - my friend from the lake passed away this morning. She has been battling cancer (cancer sucks!) for a long time & was doing well with it until a couple weeks ago, she got results that it had spread into her bones. They put her on new meds & then she went downhill so fast & now it's over. :( And then to top it off, today is my brother Mike - who passed away 3 1/2 year ago - birthday! Can I just go back to bed & start over??
I never want to be a downer on this Merry site, so please forgive me!! I'm just sad today!

th

I am so very sorry for your loss. (((hugs)))

** TRAVEL ALERT **

With the rental season at an end, I am voyaging to the coast tomorrow morning to see how the cottage fared.
My plan is to post tomorrow's count and return late Sunday, meaning that a guest poster will only be needed for Sunday morning.
However, if I find major problems that need attention, I might not drive back until Monday, meaning the guest poster would have to cover Monday morning's count as well.
(If I haven't posted by about 9:30 Monday morning, assume I'm not!)

Any takers??

I hope everything is okay with your rental. Have a safe trip!

Good morning everyone, Happy Friday!
I only have a few minutes, my mother is coming over soon for an unexpected visit. I need to run around the house and tidy up quick. I'll be back later to catch up!
Hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

I hope your visit with your mom was fun!

A hectic week. And we're working all weekend.
Oh no!!! No fun working all weekend! Think Christmasy thoughts!
Hectic, indeed, MC.

I thought that I would be able to check-in a few times today. Instead, I was quite busy teaching at Russell. For the most part, the students were pretty good. It was a great way to end the week.

I am not too sure what the weekend has in store. I am really hoping to get out for a run tomorrow morning before the rain comes. We'll see how it goes.

Happy weekend, everyone! This could very well be the final weekend before the debut of the Most Wonderful Thread of the Year!

Hope you got your run in and able to relax afterward!

So sorry it's such a lousy day. But DON'T feel like you can't mention it here. No one in the human race can be Little Mary Sunshine all, the time. Life doesn't work like that. We want to know so we can help, or at least feel with you. Spider Robinson said, "Shared joy is increased; shared pain is lessened."

Very well put!

Good morning, MMC!
Merry Saturday!
We plan to do some things outside around the house, and I need to start on the laundry too. Relaxation is a must at some point, too. I have a DVR I'd like to catch up on!
Hope you all have a blessed day!

Are there Christmas movies that you are catching up on? Whatever it is, enjoy!!!

not that productive....will mop the floors tomorrow...then the house is cool....I might do it later on...not sure yet :D
Then you can come visit me and mop my floors! :p Enjoy your weekend!

I had an AWESOME first run--way faster than my normal pace from last year and years past!! Felt great and even ran an extra mile almost! And up 5 stories of a parking deck at the end to boot! WOOHOO!
That is fantastic!!! Congratulations!!! Keep up the good work!
Good Morning. Wow, it's a foggy morning here, kinda of neat looking outside with everything shrouded in a deep, gray mist.

Plans for me today are to steam clean half of the basement carpet then clean out another flower bed (or 2) out side later this afternoon.

Have a great day!

Sounds like a Halloween scene! I hear scary music in the fog! That would be a cool site! :)

Good Morning MMC !
been busy already this morning, Last load of laundry in the dryer. Roasted, mashed and put in freezer some pumpkin, but not until baking a batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins first.

New Christmas Tree Alert!!! We finally did it!!! We headed out to the large year round Christmas store today and got a good quality 7.5 ft. pre-lit Christmas tree. We have been talking about replacing our now 20 year old tree for several years. We have steered away from pre-lit trees in the past due to the fact when they go out you are stuck with burned out strands of lights on your tree. The trees they sell are under warranty. They have an on site shop that will repair them if there are any problems. It's in layaway with a requirement to pay 1/2 of the cost of tree to hold. They said we have until November 1st to pick it up but we plan to go next weekend and pay it off.

As far as the rest of the weekend, it has been nice! Thursday we headed up to Oklahoma with my parents to Winstar hotel and casino and stayed the night. We got home by noon on Friday and went to a lot of stores looking at Christmas, Autumn and Halloween decor. This morning we went to the Arboretum for their opening day of the Pumpkin Village before getting picking out our new Christmas tree.

75,000 pumpkins this year at the Arboretum! There are more pictures in the Autumn thread.

Congrats on your new tree!!!
Please post photos after you decorate it!
Have fun in OK with your parents ❤️
Sounds fun!
Have a blessed rest of your weekend, CAH!

Oh no!!! No fun working all weekend! Think Christmasy thoughts!
Got home a few minutes ago. I was listening to some Christmas music through my headphones as I worked. It helped (some)! Especially the "Nutcracker Rag" by the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. Have to go back in at 11 a.m. tomorrow, and it sounds like it could go late into the night. If it does, they may let me go home and call Mr. in so I can get some sleep before Monday morning.

I have next Friday and Monday scheduled as vacation days. Cross your fingers that I get to take them---others have had their vacations rescinded and rescheduled recently. If mine is---by the end of next week I will have worked 12 consecutive days. o_O
