Christmas Countdown - 2015

[Holiday]

Happy Friday.... The start of a 5 day break from working. I took a leave of absence, no pay, to move my grandfather, get him settled-in and also organized and make him feel at home, because this is his home now.... I did not want to burn thru my vacation time...

I unpacked 20 boxes of his stuff and we threw 12 trash bags of things he will no longer need away, like cooking, baking and oven pans, corning ware, cooking utensils, Tupperware from 1970, 500 plastic bowls, containers , etc.... Tomorrow it will be recycled and also some taken to the county landfill.
Tomorrow, more packing and transporting and goodwill trips....
Tonight, a good long soak in a hot tub (gotta have some Bath and Body works bubbles), get a bowl of ice cream and then off to bed!

I hope the move is going well!!!

The rumor going around is that the price of eggnog is going to be $6 for a half gallon for the real stuff because of the egg shortage due to the bird flu. I couldn't believe it when the dairy employee told me that today. I don't know how true it is but he is usually pretty reliable.

OUCH! Looks like we'll be making homemade!

Good Morning, Everyone! Usually I get a little time to myself on Saturday mornings away from the precious little one. Today, my husband is sick so I am taking our little girl with me on a few errands. I will be back to catch up during nap time.
I hope everyone is having a nice autumn day so far!

Happy Monday snowflake!! The weekend was nice! Yesterday the weather was just gorgeous!! The sky was so blue!!! I took Gracie for a walk - I took some pics I'll have to share! Sounds like you had a nice visit with your parents? How was the orchard/winery?

We had a beautiful weekend, as well!
The orchard and winery were lovely! They had live music there, so we ordered a glass of wine and sat outside and enjoyed it!
We couldn't have asked for better weather, it was sunny and 75°! The country drive was gorgeous, the trees are just starting to turn. I will have to share some photos, too.

It is a gorgeous day here and set to be like this all week. The temps are really pleasant and practically summer like (our summer )

On our way from the city last night, the moon was an extraordinary sight! Mesmerising! It had us all in awe, so much that we failed to notice our car was smoking !!!

Just got the quote from the mechanic! Someone hit me over the head so I can wake up in a Snowglobe and escape all these 'surprise' expenses that just keep on coming!!!

Well a hundred things to get done today and already falling behind so must dash!

Oh by the way anyone else curious about NASA's big announcement later??

Quick merry check-in, Great day with my Mom, she wanted to check out a couple of shops and have some lunch. Got her out of the house while my dad was golfing. She tuckered out about 2 p.m. so we had to call it quits. Chatted with my dad for a bit when I dropped her off.
While we were out; I heard Frank Sinatra, Bing and Buble come over the speakers and she never uttered a word about the Christmas tunes. She asked me a few moments later about our Christmas plans not realizing the notion came to her mind via the music.

Christmas is coming -enjoy the rest of the night and have a great Sunday!

Morning everyone. I've been MIA for the last year or so (sorry). Used to be around but rarely. Hope to be back full-time now that my life is more settled. Wow can anyone else believe that we hit OCTOBER this coming week? I am so excited for the holiday season coming.

Welcome back to you too!! I can't believe it will be October in 3 days. WOW! And the Canadian Thanksgiving is October 12th already! That makes the holidays seem so close!

Good morning MMC! It's a chilly cloudy morning here this morning! Getting ready to work for a few hours and then have the rest of the day off! Listening to Lite 105 Internet Radio, as they've flipped to all Christmas music and take requests sometimes! It'll be all Christmas until January! I listen to them until my local station flips. I love it. I'll mix in some Kringle Radio as well!

My wife and I bought a new Christmas tree today for our newly renovated livingroom. It will go up November 9th after the baby shower. We will decorate my den on November 1st.

We were the first people to buy a tree from our local Lowes. They were very excited about this, but not to excited to give us a discount.

Congrats on the new tree!!! It looks like a beauty!! Looking forward to pictures!!

Merry Monday!

We have quite an exciting week ahead as September ends and we welcome wonderful October. The days are getting crisper, the leaves are turning and falling and Halloween is in the air.

In my head I can almost hear the faint ringing of bells and on the morning of October 01st these will be at their loudest. It's like my inner Christmas clock sounds an alarm for me to start getting ready for the approaching season! Some will say this is crazy, it's too early! I say it's my pre season to the season!!

Good morning! well, today is the day. My grandfather is moving in with us today. I'll be heading down there soon to get the remaining things packed up, freezers and refrig un-packed before the moving van shows up there today at 9:30ish. I'm hoping that things go well, but no guarantee, fingers crossed. I'll be pretty busy today, so I don't know when I will get a chance to get back here today, maybe tonight....

Good Morning, MMC! Happy last week of September! I cannot believe at all that by the end of the work week, we'll be in October. Wow. September has absolutely flown by! I'm thrilled for October to be here...it will really start to feel like fall for me then. The weather is finally turning cooler--today's high is 80, but the rest of the extended forecast is not out of the 70s and lows even in the low 50s to upper 40s at times. Bring on the leaves changing!

We had a great weekend-my husband's birthday, and yesterday we went to see a cycling race! It was AWESOME.

This week looks pretty good at work. Feeling positive this morning! Hoping I can get the administrative work I need to get done today finished--I've tired the last two weeks but things have come up each time that I've had to take care of. It's good to feel positive on a Monday-I haven't been feeling that way at all recently! Have a GREAT day, all!
