Hi Everyone ... I so miss coming here ... We have been extremely busy packing as we have 11 days until we move and our daughter's birthday is later this week. I will be so glad once we move in and get things unpacked and settled then I can start getting ready for the holidays :) This beautiful fall weather has me chomping at the bit to decorate for fall, burn my fall scented tarts and do some major baking but almost everything is packed up. For now I just have to settle for apple cider and pumpkin flavored coffee.

Last week we lost a neighbor at the other end of our street. We really didn't know each other with the exception of Christmas. She went all out for Christmas .. decorating big at that end of the street. Well her service was over the weekend and her family paid her a nice tribute this weekend too. They decorated her house for Christmas one last time (from Friday night to Sunday night). We walked the kids down there Saturday night to look at the lights, blow ups and blow-molds that they had out and on. It was extremely nice and humble.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Hello Minta, nice to see you~
I've been thinking about you guys, wondering how everything was going in preparation of your move.
Best wishes!

Sorry to hear about your neighbor's passing. What hey lovely tribute that her family did with the Christmas decorations, how touching.

Hope you have a blessed day~

Good afternoon, all! It was a busy weekend at my house, putting up Halloween goodies, and so now I'm kind of 'lazing around' at work. That's why I'm here on MMC and not typing my charts. Can't take too long of a break though, so I'll just say "Have a great day" and get back to business.

Good afternoon, MerryBells!
Sounds like you had a festive weekend!
Hope you have a nice week.

Definitely am holiday. I always say that I don't care if the rest of the year I don't have any full weeks off. I just want the most important one Christmas to be off.
Glad you will be off too...do you travel for it or stay local?

We stay local. One of my sisters is going to host for my family this year, which is always on Christmas Eve! We thought we had Mom talked into having it at her house again this year, but I think she is backing out. Last year was the 1st year Christmas Eve was not at my parents house & it was odd - so nice that my sister offered, but still not the same! Ah well - it's all good. We lost Dad in March this year, so Christmas won't be the same!
What about you?

We headed out to the Christmas store over the weekend to pick up our tree, brought it home and set it up immediately to test out the lights and make sure everything was working properly. My son came home from work and wasn't phased by it and my dad came by and nonchalantly asked if that will be where we plan to set it up this year. Neither one knew we just bought a tree or asked "why is your tree up so early"? They just know me so well they were not in the least bit surprised as to why it was up in September! Ha ha!!! Then as we were planning to take it down my son asked why we were taking it down and thinks we should just stay up. I think I agree with him but it came down anyway, I have a lot of fall decorations to enjoy for now!

Oh I can't wait to see pictures! I thought for sure you were going to say you let it up!! :p How exciting!!!

Best of luck with the move. It's a pain but once you are all settled you can focus solely on the holidays. Sorry to hear about your neighbour. She sounds like she had true christmas spirit!

I stay local also. I know what you mean it's hard to break a tradition you came to know but look at it as a possible new tradition. Sorry about your dad. I lost my dad when I was 12 but I can clearly remember one of my last moment's with him was on Xmas Eve him reading Twas the Night Before Christmas to us as he did every year. And even though I was only 12 and my family tried to not let me know how sick he was (stomach cancer) I remember telling myself that would be the last year for that tradition. He passed away about 6 weeks later.
But not to be a downer...I've come to love many traditions now that are amazing. I want to keep them as long as I can...keep adding new ones as I have been...and appreciate them.

LOL or it's probably because I live in a typical english house the size of a Hobbit's. :D
LOL! As long as we have a roof over our head & a cool place in the summer & a warm place in the winter ~ It's all good!!! :)

"Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself.

Peace on Earth, good will to men,
kind thoughts and words of cheer,
are things we should use often
and not just once a year.

Remember too the Christ-child, grew up to be a man;
to hide him in a cradle, is not our dear Lord’s plan.
So keep the Christmas spirit, share it with others far and near,
from week to week and month to month, throughout the entire year!"

Great way to look at it! As they say...time marches on! Sorry to hear about you losing your dad at such a young age! Cancer stinks! :( Such a sweet memory of him reading Twas The Night Before Christmas! Love it!

I know!! It's chilly outside because of the rain, our fireplace would feel so cozy!
Thanks, Holiday-you too!

The sun just popped out here & it's warming up! Feeling muggy!!!

Enjoy the sunshine!

It's 95% humidity here, and pouring rain. It's not supposed to stop until late tonight.
Whew! It's supposed to rain here tonight (overnight) & a chance again tomorrow evening!
I'll take the sunshine! LOL

Afternoon all!

I am back at work. Had a short shift today. My friend was down from Windsor again this weekend. We had a Christmas movie marathon. We also went to Yankee Candle to look at the Christmas candles. We looked like weirdos sniffing all the candles and commenting on them. The lady must have though us nuts! haha. We went to the dollar store to look at the Christmas stuff and also over to Walmart to check it out there. I found two things! A new tree topper and a cheap inflatable! Woo hoo!
Here is the inflatable! (First one for me)

And here is the tree topper!
