My boys were all confused when they saw a payphone last week. My youngest kept asking why would anyone use that?

Have you seen the series of YouTube videos where they present kids with older technology (e.g., an electric typewriter, a non-digital camera, a cassette player, a dial telephone) and get their opinions on the items? The kids are aghast when you tell them that in the "olden" days, you had to be at home to answer the telephone! They're outraged when they realize an electric typewriter can't delete mistakes! And it makes you feel darned old.

Thank you all! It was a very nice mass. We have a "cluster" of 5 parishes - over the last year 31 members have passed - family members went up & lit a candle for each of them.13 were from our parish. So sad! 5 of the 6 people who work here where I work lost a parent in the last year. 3 of us were there last night.
Pizza back at Moms was good too. Got home around 9:30 & I was wiped out!

It's interesting I've found that most Christmas crazies are married to people who are not. Maybe that saying opposites attract?

Nah she is not a christmas crazy like me Edge...I drive her crazy when we go shopping..I go to the christmas isle where all the lights,decorations are but she has a good guess where to find me

Last Night we had Three Rare Earth Quakes Here in Phoenix Arizona.
We are fine House Is fine (Thank god) It was mild as I am from Earth Quake Country (LA,CA )Im not phased at all...
So Everyone keeps asking what i was when they started hitting..
I was here on MMC just catching up with all of what goes on here.LOL.
Thought my neighbors just slammed there garage door really hard like they do sometimes.

My son asked what a VCR was the other day.

They'll never know rewinding VHS tapes, how worn they got after repeated use, or manually setting a VCR to record a show. Our struggle was real.

Crazy!! We still have 2 VCR's too. We rarely use them, but we have them.

I saw coloring books in Michael's the other day, I'm definitely going to pick one up for myself. If could certainly use a de-stressor!
I tried to crochet for a little while yesterday but it didn't work out too well. I kind of forgot that a ball of yarn and four cats do not go well together. I was being attacked from every angle, it was ridiculous. The only way I'll be able to crochet is if I lock myself in my bedroom, and I really don't want to do that during the day. I'm glad I went to the class though, at least I know the basics now. Hopefully I'll find the time to work on a project one of these days!

Don't let the cats stop you! Go to the craft store and get one of those thingies that holds several skeins of yarn and has holes above each one to let the yarn come through. That may stop the skeins or balls from rolling around, remove some of the attraction for the cats!

Wooo-Hooo My oldest daughter is coming home for the weekend on the 15th November and she has asked can we decorate the christmas tree...well i was buzzzzing inside and i said well 15th is a bit early right then i burst out in joy and said 'YES'...funny thing is my wife thought it was a good idea too..Maybe she has finally got the christmas buzz like me 'NAAAH'

I still have a box full of 8-tracks, and a working player (in storage). I wore out three Boston tapes in my mom's Pontiac Catalina!

And we still have a VCR in the living room. A LOT of our family videos are still on VHS. I have to do something about that.

We still have a couple of working VCRs, and we have used one recently! We have transferred some of our favorite home-recorded tapes to DVD using another endangered species---a DVD recorder with an onboard hard drive.

Okay, I came of age during the cassette tape era, so I did not buy 8 tracks, although my dad still had some.
But, it is a universal right of passage for a teen boy to have the car windows rolled down, cruising along on a beautiful day with the stereo blaring "More Than a Feeling."

We bemoan the fact that you can no longer buy a car with a cassette player. Eleven years ago we got one in a new car as a special feature! When that car dies, that will be the end of cassettes in the car.

Thank you Festive...I will probably decorated the whole inside next weekend then the following weekend start decorating outside..I just ordered 300 (3M) white lights for going outside on ebay..£8.95 what a bargain

Sleep well MMC! Boy am I tired tonight! Went to the crafts store and shopped and had a GREAT time...all the fall stuff is 50% off and all of the Christmas stuff is on sale too! Awesome!

I picked up yarn to knit scarves for Christmas, a cute little Give Thanks table turkey ornament, some scarves, new knitting needles that were smaller than my current ones, a new journal and new pens, and a coloring book-yes, a coloring book! Coloring I've heard is a great de-stressor, so I thought I'd give it a try!
