The great weather is in its final days and the weather service now says Saturday's low will be down into the 20's. Quite a change from the upper 60's we are enjoying now!
Today has commenced at 58 degrees here in the capital city.

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! 10 days till D-Day? But I have so many gifts to wrap still, food to get for Christmas Eve, Christmas shows to watch, etc. Hmm guess I should just not stress but be productive. I plan on wrapping a bunch of gifts tonight. I've got my final exam on Thursday. Work has slowed down. It always goes in mid-December after craziness from around mid-November till now. I can breathe at work which feels good. So how excited is everyone that we're 10 days away? I was thinking about Christmas Day when I drove to work today. I always think about Christmas Eve and the build to Christmas but rarely do I think about the Day itself. It's special...and I look forward to it so much.

Sounds like the Christmas Eve/Day weather we had last year. I mean 50s is one thing but does it have to rain too? That sucks at least be sunny if it's not gonna snow...I'm thinking we'll have similar weather to you but maybe minus the rain (I hope).

I agree! Hope the rain misses you! We have rain in the forecast every day next week. Yuck!

From what I hear the pattern we have should last mostly through the winter and then the "El Nino" will die out next spring so things may go back to normal.

Sounds ok, I guess.

We haven't done any Christmas house hopping since I was little and I went on a walk about to our old neighbourhood when I visited from College. When I was little, we usually visited a few different relatives and family friends that we didn't get to spend Christmas Eve or Christmas Day with just to make sure they were having a happy Christmas. I think what I liked most in those early days was busting nuts open with a nutcracker and seeing the different decorations. When I was visiting from College, seeing who had the best tasting beer was fun.

Good evening everyone! Such a busy day, I'm exhausted. I just ran through the posts quick and I'm about to turn in. We finally starting setting up the Christmas village this evening, I'm happy with the way it looks so far. We're going to work on it again tomorrow night, fingers crossed that we finish. The cats were driving us crazy, I hope they were just being nosy because it's something new. We couldn't keep them off of the table! Anyway, just wanted to pop in quick to wish everyone a good night. Good morning everyone, Happy Tuesday!
I have an appointment this morning to have my hair cut & colored. Hope I could sit still while I'm there, I have such a hard time doing things like that when there's so much do around here. I also have to run to the supermarket and the post office at some point. And I'm going to the pet store as well if I have time, I need to pick up stocking stuffers for Maggie, Bella, Bentley, Sophia & Rosie. We also plan on finishing up the village this evening, can't wait to share the pictures!

Totally understand - I get a cut/color tonight & I'm thinking I wish it didn't take so long. LOL! So much to do....it's hard to be at work thinking about all the stuff I need to do at home yet! Good luck! Have a great day!

off and running this morning. Daughter in Niagara on the Lake for business and got quite sick so I am headed up that way to pick her. She went with a co worker but does not want to come back with him while she feels so sick.
so off I go, it just over 2 hours to get there. Have a great day all !

We are SO CLOSE...so close to the end of the nuts week I've had. I have a band concert tonight, work all day tomorrow (and today), and then FINALLY, I get a day off Thursday...whew! Back at work on Friday, then off Saturday and HOPEFULLY Sunday...but we'll see.

Sorry to have been absent again recently-life has just completely shifted into another gear once December hit. Ah, the joys of being a clergy person during the holidays!

My daughter has strep, so I'm home with her. I hate that she's sick but the day off and with my baby girl is nice (although every day I'm reminded that she's not a baby anymore ).

I hope you all have a great day! I realized just how close Christmas is and how soon it will all be over. But, might as well live in the moment and not dwell on the future. So, I'm going to try and do something Christmassy today.

I can understand the chaos you are going through. I am deeply involved with my church and we have just combined congregations to make a new church. We have sold our old building to the local Boys and Girls Club so we are in the process of moving all the things from that building to the building of the other congregation. Our old building is about twice the size of this one so we are doing some major purging and still are trying to fit 15lbs of stuff into a 5lb bag. And on top of that, we have had funerals left and right. It seems like there's been a surge in deaths as of late. But I love being involved with the church and being a key player in the new congregation. Plus, Advent is my favorite time of year. I hope things slow down enough that you can enjoy the season.
