Christmas Countdown - 2015

I just saw where they had to close 2 school districts here today because of multiple threats to them. I swear I don't what is wrong with this world now of days.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!!! It's the day after the Pines and I have to tell you, I'm feeling it!!!! What a party though!!!! A cold front has arrived and we are back to normal winter temps today with a high in the upper 30's. Yuck!!! I was enjoying the warmer temps and so was my electric bill!!!! It also seems that the 4 dumpsters it took to clean out the apartment 2 buildings over last week, left a lasting impression on the owners, so we got a notice saying they would be coming around tomorrow to inspect all the apartments. So I'm going to spend the day cleaning. Then everything will be ready for me to do some cookies this weekend too. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!!

Well last night was a good news/bad news kind of night. After work I picked up Gracie from the groomer, picked up a gift card to a restaurant, went to Kohls, went to the grocery...got everything put away & started working on cleaning & I made some spiced pecans! (YUM) Then I got a phone call from our neighbor saying I won $1000.00! WOO HOO!! The Legion has a weekly drawing - I paid my $1 & signed in Monday night - if were at the legion last night, I would have won $2000! Darnit! (not complaining!) Anyway - Merry Christmas to me. Too bad we have a $900+ bill due at the auto shop next week. HA! So that was the good news.
I sat down to check email last night & I had a message from my brother in Cape Cod. He is not coming home for Christmas this year. 1st time in a whole bunch of years he won't be here! I was so bummed! My other brother & his family are going to my SIL's family for Christmas Eve. My niece isn't coming home with her 3 boys, & another niece is going to her boyfriends house. Our Christmas Eve crowd will be cut in 1/2. And this is the 1st Christmas without Dad. I was just moping about it last night. Anyway, it's all good, but it definitely won't be a normal kind of Christmas this year.
Hard to believe tomorrow is the final Friday before Christmas.

Congrats on the win (even though you have to use it to pay for something at least it will pay for something and save you having to use other money for it). Sorry to hear you will be missing some people. Last year a friend of the family (who is basically part of the family) wasn't here and it really bothered me on Christmas Eve. Fortunately he's back this year but I would advise you to enjoy the people that ARE there with you even though you miss the ones who aren't.

This will also be our first Christmas since Dorothy passed away, and Adrian and his family are having a difficult time. We all miss her. I think a lot of our time will be spent in Tomah.
