Love the quote, Holiday! Merry Christmas, my friend!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! We were up at 5am as our 6 year old came in proclaiming Santa had been to our house. Wonderful time opening presents.
Time to clean up a bit and then start cooking a turkey and getting ready for dinner.

I hope everyone is having a joyous Christmas Day!

Sounds like a wonderful morning ITP! I hope you have a lovely evening with your crew. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Brent, congratulations to you and Kim!

DYHWIH, prayers for your hubby at work!

Crown, enjoy your break! Thank you so much for counting down for us!

What a lovely day! I took a long walk and looked at all the plants that are blooming now that shouldn't be, dodging cats along the way. They were happy to be out and about on such a nice sunny day. Packed the truck for work tomorrow. I finished at 10 last night and promptly went to bed. Could not sleep, though. Christmas day anticipation still gets to me! Palmer loved her present. She was hard to buy for this year as she does not play with her jingle balls very much any more and definitely has a favorite polar fleece blanket ( my snowflake one!) so no new ones will work. I got her a baby brush ~ she absolutely loved it! Yay! The outdoor critters all got special food ~ from the cats to the birds. It was quite festive out there with all the purring and chattering. My brother is here so I need to get cooking.

Merry Christmas!!!

Anyone else been having trouble getting into this thread today? I have to try multiple times to get past various error messages. No other site has the problem, just this one.
Better wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS now before I get locked out!

I couldn't connect last night and gave up after several tries from different paths. It was a bit disappointing for me as I wanted to be with everyone the last hour of Christmas Eve, but I worried more if the forums were down that Jeff Westover would miss some of his family time in trying desperately to make everything run like a well oiled merry machine. He sacrifices so much for us to enjoy our happy home away from home. I was hoping it was just a problem on my end. I was still able to track Santa on the updates.

I haven't been able to listen to the annual greeting podcast on Kringle Radio as it appears I don't have any of the music players on my tablet and my laptop has connected to the internet in since I created the link to my tablet (go figure). My tablet plays music with a USB drive so I figured I had software in place.

I'm trying to play a bit of catch up on here from yesterday and today.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you, dear Crown, for putting so much excitement into your countdown posts; hopefully I won't have any hiccups and can join everyone for the wrap up of 2015 and the welcome of the new countdown thread for 2016 as our merry tradition dictates.

I had trouble but upon further inspection, it appeared to be because so many of us were trying to get on at once. I got some error messages that seemed to be related to a server overload or something of the sort. No problems today at all!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas morning. What a magical day! Kim and I had a splendid first Christmas together with my family. Last night, we had my brother, his wife, her father, and a few members of his side of the family came over for our Christmas (Eve) dinner! We'd never had turkey dinner and everything on Christmas Eve before, but my brother works today at 6pm, so we had to change our plans a little. Even if it was different, it was still delicious and we had a wonderful time.

Santa was quite good to Kim and I this year. I received plenty of clothes for running, a few games, and much more! Don't worry, Simon even made it out very well. He had a stocking full of goodies and toys. Of course, he also loved all the wrapping paper, too!

Thank you for yet another wonderful year, MMC! I am sorry that I have been a little more absent than I would prefer in the past week or so. I've been super busy with plenty of things. Going to Cornwall for Kim's grandfather's wake and funeral was certainly the most difficult thing I experienced all year... and the timing did not help, either. Thank you for al the well wishes and support earlier, too.

Finally, Kim and I have been keeping something secret since December 5th - when we went to Alight at Night in Morrisburg, Ontario. At the end of our adventure, I proposed. Kim said "yes," and after 9.5 years and living together for 7 of those, we are engaged and will be getting married in 2017. Until December 23rd, only her family knew. We wanted to keep it a secret and surprise my side of the family when we came to the Sault. Initially, it was suppose to be December 19th, but the funeral delayed everything until the 23rd. Either way, we are very excited! Hopefully the photo below shows up.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

So, wonderful to hear you're engaged; our romance was well underway for 7 years before we got engaged. Congratulations and Merry Christmas!

When we were little, we weren't allowed to wake anyone up until the street lights turned off outside. Next year, we'll celebrate with the grandkids where the two youngest are still believers and help make the morning more exciting for us. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!!

We've had our first green Christmas and the winds were so strong yesterday, they snapped our town Christmas tree and it fell over; we were unable to light our annual Christmas Eve luminaries and while we don't have flowers popping out of the ground, the squirrels and birds are rather merry at being able to find food in the trees that are not as frozen as they usually are this time of year.
We haven't had any birdfeeder visitors in a few days. I'm sure my pileated woodpecker will swing by for New Year's. We're taking a break from Christmas flicks for a moment to treat O'Malley the cat to a special on Meerkats (we think he's a decendent of some sort). Merry Christmas!

I wrote this Christmas song based on a non-Christmas song. At this festive time of year, it seems as good a time as any to share it with my MMC friends who may have missed seeing it last year.

Searching For a Merry Feeling
Written by me a.k.a. Auntie Mistletoe Based on the tune, ‘The Little White Cloud that Cried‘, by Johnny Ray (performed once upon a time by Jamie Redfern and Dean Martin.)

I went searching for a merry feeling
I headed into the downtown core
Cedar boughs, lights and bows adorned the shops
Sale signs in every window and on every door

I went searching for a merry feeling
Spotted a couple huddled in a doorway, less fortunate than I
Carollers standing on every other corner
Heard Church Bells resonating across the sky

I went searching for a merry feeling
Headed out onto a country road
I came upon a living Nativity
The wise farmer approached, carrying a heavy load

The stranger understood what I was seeking
And this is what I was told,
“If you are searching for a merry feeling
You will search until your body turns cold.

I’m sure you know joy is something from within
Filled with the traditions and celebrations you hold dear
If it vanishes from your city
It’s up to you to keep it near.”

I went home feeling rather silly
For having doubted what I knew all along
The merry feeling we all hold deep inside
Pumps through me with a fresh new song.

I woke up from my daydream in the shower
Knowing I had to share with all my friends
The secret to keeping very merry at Christmas
Is sharing memories; I hope it never ends.

For those who have never heard the song, here's a link.
We saw Jamie perform with Liberace when my brothers and I were about Jamie's age.

Festive Regards My Merry Friends,
A. Mistletoe

We had a good time with my parents and their Christmas Eve visitors last night. Got home about 10:30, didn't get to bed until 12:30. Headed back over this morning and Santa delivered some merry surprises. All of our gifts were well received and likewise we were thankful for the thoughts that went into the gifts that were chosen for us.

When I picked my brother up at the airport yesterday a friend was meeting her son (he's in med. school) and was dressed in an elf costume so I asked her to pretend she was there to meet my brother. It was a merry little joke. We went downtown and browsed in my dad's old store and chatted with the owner. When he finished his Christmas shopping, I drove up to our old neck of the woods where we grew up and we had lunch (my treat) in a family owned coffee shop/corner store where we used to spend our allowance on penny candy and twice a month we would go there in elementary school for lunch.

I'm heading back over to my parents house in an hour for Christmas dinner. My dad wouldn't tell me what was on the menu - pleeeeeeease let there be turkey!!!

Merry Christmas, everyone from O'Malley!

He received a special treat this morning and was looking for more a few minutes ago. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Stay jolly!

Well guys they don't call these two days the Dynamic Duo for nothing (well at least I'm seemingly the only one who came up with that weird nickname for them)...but so many traditions and fun times and laughs and joy these last 2 days. Feels like 6 months worth of that good feeling overloaded into 2 days. But that's why this is Christmas Eve and Day. Special times 1000. I'm going to now have some leftovers from Christmas Eve dinner and play some new games with my family. It should be a long evening and then there are some traditional cupcakes that we have for Christmas night. Thanks again guys for the build to Christmas 2015. It's been a lot of fun and there's more fun to be had. I hope you all are having the best Christmas ever and I look forward in the coming hours, days, weeks and months in discussing with all of you how great your Christmas Season 2015 was and your hopes and dreams and ideas for Christmas Season 2016. God bless.

I hope everyone had/is having a wonderful Christmas!

The day is winding down for us. We had breakfast this morning, opened gifts, then went to my BIL's for our family Christmas. Lots of family stories and conversation---very pleasant. For gifts this year, I got a lovely sweater, plus (as usual) some wonderful books and DVDs. A little over six hours to go, officially, but I'm sure we'll be "Christmassing" all weekend! Not sure what we'll do this evening, but I hope the glow will keep going.

Merry Christmas everyone. I am sorry I have not been active on here for the past year as it has been a very tumultuous one for me and our family. I hope everyone has a moment to pause, take in the magic and wonder that this season brings, and are able to count their blessings. Hoping 2016 will be better for all of us.

Merry Christmas my Friends! I hope you all enjoy your day and get to relax! Today is also my oldest daughters bday, a true Christmas baby! So we always have a double celebration! Blessings! View attachment 17839
