We love going to ComicCons. The big ones are held by "WizardCon." however, there are smaller ones that are fun too. Just google around a bit and you will probably find something in a better place than Atlanta. My wife and I are most likely going to the Indianapolis PopCon on June 17-19. It is a smaller con, but has some good stars and comic artists there. Also, lots of cosplay.
I understand your dislike of Atlanta. When I was in the Army I went to Basic at Ft. Benning and then I was stationed at Ft. Gordon. I only had limited experience with Atlanta, but I hated every second of it.
I have always wanted to go to comic cons. I am a huge comic book/superhero fan. I hoep I get the chance someday.

Martine: As far as cosplay we have done: Me: Rorschach (from the Watchman) Batman (Michael Keaton version)
Wife: Poison Ivy, Batwoman, Miss Jupiter (Watchman), random Steampunk outfit
Nathan(oldest son): Dr. Manhattan(watchman), the Riddler, random Steampunk outfit
Henry(youngest son): The Penguin, NightOwl (Watchman), Plankton (SpongeBob)

We are currently working on some new outfits. My wife and I are planning on going to a Con in Indianapolis June 17-19. I am hoping to have my Lone Ranger outfit done by then. Also a DieselPunk outfit. My wife is working on a new Batwoman outfit from a specific comic called "Bombshells."
My wife also has a homemade Grinch outfit, Buddy the Elf and Napoleon Dynamite. She has worn those to school on special dressup days for Halloween and Christmas. It is really my wife who gets all of the credit for the costume making, she is an Art Teacher and likes to build the costumes. I do the little I can with my limited abilities.:p
It is a lot of fun though. It is really great when you are walking around in costume and you see folks, young and old, light up when they see your character. Lots of pictures and memories made.

Sounds like a great road trip with lots of interesting stops!
Did you happen to pass through Frederick County (Maryland) on your way from Gettysburg to Harpers Ferry? Lots of history there!

The trip was great and no real issues with traffic, just the craziness of Philadelphia. One strange intersection where cars came in from every direction with no lane lines, I called it the Circle of Death.

We went by Frederick County, but did not stop there. I also drove through the Antietam Battlefield but did not stop. There are currently fixing Burnside's Bridge right now so you cannot really get to that anyway. We were a little limited on time on the last day because we extra time in Philly, so that meant we really only had time for Harpers Ferry and Maryland Heights in that region.
We did Gettysburg first, then Philly, and then Harpers Ferry. There is so much in Philly we really need to go again.

********** MILESTONE DAY **********

Good Morning, and a Merry Milestone Day to one and all!

Yes, hard though it may be to believe (yet alone understand) we have arrived at the 200-day Christmas Day marker on our long but exciting journey back "home".

Days to the Season: 158
Days to Christmas Day: 200

And tomorrow, Edge will guide us into a double-100's count, as the magical number "199" appears on the count board!

Ah! A nice, low humidity refreshing morning here, where we stand at 64 sunny and calm degrees, currently.
Should be nice driving weather to the coast, for which I will be leaving shortly.

Well, you all have a Wonderful Wednesday and a Particularly Perfect Pines Day, Everyone!
Sorry I will miss it and Carl's "Windows" theme party this evening, but that's how the twinkie crumbles.
Thanks Crown!

Hello everyone. I'll see y'all at the Pines tonight for the big milestone celebration!
