Ah! Another Weekend Eve has arrived, and right on schedule.

So have the latest figures. Let's have a look:
Days to the Season: 149
Days to Christmas Day: 191

A scant eight days remain now until the HALF WAY point to Christmas Day 2016 (after a slight recalculation for Leap Year).


Well, the heat returned yesterday but at least it was dry.
Today should be cooler and we are dampish this morning after a light overnight rain. Looks like a good weekend ahead, however!
Currently, it is sunny and our back door digital thermometer tells us it is 74.1 degrees here in our section of MMC land.

My day off started early with a walk in the park with Loki. Absolutely not a cloud in the sky, perfect weather. Of course it will be a day for chores and grocery shopping but as always, I'm hoping to get everything done before noon so I can just enjoy my time off. Have a great day everyone!

Merry Friday MMC!! Another week is almost done and gone. Just working today and not much planned for tonight. Tomorrow night we have my niece's graduation party and I think we may do a cookout for Father's day. Hope you all have a great day!

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

Jacob's band had a gig last night, and I just can't stay away. We were out till 1AM. That's way too late for me these days LOL! But the boys gave another awesome gig, and they get better each time. For some reason, though, Jacob just won't invite the old man on stage. Hmmm, I thought I taught him better than that.

Tonight, Jacob is playing in his music school's recital, so it's back in the car when I get off work today. But the recitals are always professional, on stage at Georgia Southern University's Fine Arts building. That's where Jacob's starts school in a couple months.

And, of course, we're heading to Nashville, TN on Monday for a few days. Nancy's mom & dad, and her sister, gave Jacob a trip to the Grand Ol' Opry. It's a little over 7 hours from here, so most of our 3-day trip will be on the road. Still, it should be fun.

Another late return home, didn't get in until 1030 tonight. It was the last day of school here today, so the wife and kids don't have to get up in the morning, but I do. Just keep telling myself I am on vacation in 2 weeks. My MMC time has really suffered and I am behind by 500+ posts at the time.

No one's keeping score. Just enjoy the forum at your own pace. Nobody holds it against you if you "get behind"---it's not a competition, it's not a homework assignment, it's not "read 50 pages before Wednesday"---it's just US. Don't sweat it.

Did anyone see the news story about the rainbow that appeared over the Pulse nightclub on Tuesday? I saw photos of it online. It seemed like a sign of hope for love to eventually conquer hate.

Speaking of, it was SO chilly at the lake last night. They wind was ridiculous!! We didn't even sit outside, it was too cold. CRAZINESS! From 90º to needing a coat. O-H-I-O

The local weatherman said how most of the country is boiling but for some reason the northeast hasn't gotten into that heat.

Our forecast says 85 today with 70% humidity, 88 tomorrow with 61% humidity, 89 Sunday 64% humidity, & 93 Monday w/ 60% humidity! At least we don't have 90% humidity forecasted!
