Good Thursday morning everyone. Yesterday we celebrated the store's 10th anniversary. Employees loved the souvenir album, it brought back lots of memories for them. The buffet was great, the cakes delicious, happy to have done it right. Now a long work day ahead for me, to make up for the work I didn't have time to finish yesterday because of the celebrations. Have a great day everyone!
Oh gosh, I was thinking you celebrated that over the weekend! Sounds like a great celebration! Congrats on 10 years. How awesome! Hope you can easily get caught up!

Autumn, fall … or harvest?

Did you know that fall was once referred to simply as “harvest” to reflect the time when farmers gathered their crops for winter storage? In the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities, the word harvest fell out of use and city dwellers used the phrase “fall of the leaf” to refer to the third season of the year. The word fall comes from the Old English word “feallan” which means “to fall or to die.” Over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. No one really knows where the word autumn comes from. It was used as far back as the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word. Today, North Americans tend to use the word fall, while the British use autumn almost exclusively.
Thanks for the interesting facts!

I'm wistful about the days becoming shorter and the nights longer, but I will enjoy (for a while!) having evenings cool enough to enjoy a hot cup of tea and a couple of cookies before bed.

Good morning ~
Merry Thursday!

Kim and I fell asleep early last night... She was watching Chicago PD and I was watching the Canada/Team Europe hockey game. I only say this because we initially fell asleep on the couch and woke up around 11:30 to go to bed.

Then, I had a scary dream! I dreamt that the Blossoms thread had been open for a couple days and I didn't even know! How scary is that? It's practically a nightmare!

I just checked here, and it is all good. Crown has yet to debut the Most Wonderful Thread of the Year! ... Although I have a sneaking suspicion that his next trip to Crabtree will be to prepare for the thread's unveiling.
Thank goodness that was "just a nightmare!"

Good morning, everyone!

Happy first day of Fall! It's the final season before our favourite day of the year! And, of course, the Season that includes our season, the Christmas Season! Seeing all your Fall photos that welcome in the new season made it much easier to wake up today.

I am up a little early considering there is no work. No teaching positions today at all, really. Tomorrow, I have to tutor. I might have a tutoring shift on Saturday or Sunday as well. Next week, I have four days already booked. Not bad! It is all starting to pickup.

Well, I should get started on a few things. I hope everyone has a wonderful first day and you're all embraced by some cool air and falling leaves, although it seems that both are a little later this year than usual - at least they are in Canada's Capital.

Have a great Thursday, everyone!
88º here today! Happy Autumn! LOL
Have a great day Brent!

In honour of the first Autumn day, I'm currently making a rigatoni casserole with butternut squash. First time working with butternut squash, just the smell and nice orange colour when cutting it in cubes made me think of Fall.

Sounds delicious! Enjoy~

Good Morning, Final Quarter Approachers!

And without any doubt, we are indeed nearing the last of four quarters on our voyage back to Christmas Day 2016.

Days to the Season: 52
Days to Christmas Day: 94

In fact, that next marker is actually now LESS THAN HALF A WEEK away and closing rapidly!

The remains of Julia continue to linger off our coast and we had off and on agan rain nearly the entire day. Cool temperatures, too.
The same conditions could possibly continue for today and maybe even tomorrow before the storm finally decides to depart.
We are at 71 rather wet degrees right now here in the capital city.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone!

Happy Autumn, Crown!

Thank you Snowflake. Hoe again, the shift is over and the coffee is hot. A nice way to begin the Fall season. We were suppose to have some rain this morning, but just a sprinkle or two thus far.
I trust both you and Har are feeling much better and prayers will continue. Enjoy your Thursday.

Thank you, we are starting to. Hopefully a little more each day.
Thank you again for the prayers~
Have a wonderful day! God bless.

Awe - I wish you could have done all those things this morning! Harlowe would have loved it!
I'm so happy to hear she is making improvements. Continued prayers for the little sweetie!
Hope you are having a wonderful Fall Equinox!! (even if it's rainy) I just read this on the Farmers Almanac website:
However, other fall foliage destinations, where drought was not a factor, such as Arkansas, Wisconsin, and Virginia — should see vibrant colors this year.

Thank you! Me, too ;)
And for the continued prayers!! <3
I sure wish we could share our rain with others, we've had plenty. And flooding, too. I had to pull over on the side of the highway last night, I couldn't see anything in front of me, it was pouring so hard.
Hopefully it brings amazing color!!
Hope you & Gracie have a beautiful first day of Fall!
