This topic has me smiling!

Agreed!

BTW..if anyone can help me with my problem posting pictures from my cell phone please send me a message. Galaxy Note 5/Android. I receive a error message from upload and doesnt matter what size or style of pic i.e. jpg, png, bit, img thanks.
hmm I'm not sure. I first thought it might be a size thing but if you say that isn't it then I am not too sure. Hopefully someone else can help!

Congrats! Temp-to perm is how I started at this job. A lot of people get jobs that way.
Yep ... that's how Mr. got a couple of his positions in the past. Once a company sees how good he is, they're hooked.

That is wonderful! Congrats to him!!
Thank you!

How beautiful! I haven't picked up a hook since I took that crochet class. I think I need a refresher course now!
It's a great time of year to do it. Working with nice, cuddly, warm yarn ...

Well it works for us! My husband and I are both jokers. We can laugh at ourselves and each other. There is an immense sense of comfort and security that comes with that I think. We suit each other perfectly!
There are SO many happy, strong marriages on MMC. It's a joy to see! The warm, open hearts of Christmas-lovers must help to make good relationships.

Don't get the idea that Mr. and I don't joke around! There's a lot of laughter around our house ... a couple decades of in-jokes and catch-phrases between us. And a big, big helping of Just Plain Silliness.

Merry! That is wonderful news!!! I hope it all works out. Keeping the prayers going for you guys.
Thank you!
Part of me is elated; part of me whispers, "Wait until it's a done deal." We're more hopeful than we've been in a while.

WOW! That is amazing MC!! Is that your afghan, or a picture from the pattern? I love it!! Can't wait to see it in full. Looks very warm!!! The afghan I'm making doesn't have nearly that much detail... you do awesome work!!
It's a picture from the pattern. I wouldn't claim that mine looks as good! It is very thick and very warm.

I had attempted the Yule Tree afghan before, but just couldn't "get" all the crossed stitches. The afghan I did before this one had a lot of textured and crossed stitches, and there were video tutorials for the stitches on YouTube, so then I "got it" and decided to try the Yule Tree afghan again. This time it's coming out okay! I think the next afghan will be something simpler. I've done three or four complex afghans in a row.

I'm an iPhone user, but I hope someone can help you!! xx

oh no I didn't get that idea at all :) I was just saying what came to mind regarding my own situation.

I know what you mean. There is always that worry until it's a done deal. Keeping everything crossed that you have confirmation soon!

I'm pretty sure most everyone here has a sense of humor. Love it! :p
Hope your hubby knocks their socks off & get a permanent job he loves!

Yes, he did!
He didn't do it for very long, but had fun along the way!
Some of the bits he did in radio were quite hilarious, too. :D
How fun for him!!

Afternoon all,
My two autumn houses have just arrived along with a vintage wooden rocking horse!
This is a photo of the horse. It's pretty big. I'm thinking about placing him near the Christmas tree. He looks a lot nicer in person. The details and wood carving is beautiful.

Love the rocking horse! He'll look great under the tree!

Wonderful news, congratulations to Mr!
Thank you!
Sounds nice 'n cozy! I do wish we had more storage. There are pro's & con's to both more living space or more storage. In the basements our steps go down in nearly the middle of the basement. To the left is all living space: bar, big screen, couch, love seat, chairs. To the right is air hockey, darts, & foosball, & behind that is a wall with a door that leads to the furnace/storage room. When my entire family comes over (Mom, brothers, sisters, nieces/nephews, girlfriends/boyfriends/husbands/wives + my great nieces & nephew) we have 50 people at our house. So the living space works nicely for that. When Jims entire family is over, we are with 20....and that is only going to grow as the nieces/nephews start bringing significant others (which 3 of them COULD start doing anytime by the way! :p)
It's great that you have such a nice space to entertain a houseful!

Wonderful news MC! I hope it all works out for him & he loves it! xx
Thank you! Fingers crossed that all that comes true! He is SO good at what he does, and the test showed them that. He can give them the expertise they need, and he has more than enough experience to hit the ground running when he starts.

His phone interview went well ... it was to be about 15 minutes, but they talked to him for about half an hour. His interviewer was going to talk to some other people in the company to see if they wanted to talk to him in person, but there's been no word yet. However ... last week one of his temp agencies put him in for a temp-to-possible-perm contract. He had to go into Boston to test for it, and they were so impressed with his test that they called the agency a few hours later to say they wanted him. Pending some paperwork on the client's end, he should be starting in a couple weeks. After 15 months of day-here, day-there, no-work-today, a steady contract with the possibility of being hired is great news!
That's great news! Congratulations to him! :D

Yes. It's Red Heart with Love, and the color is Evergreen. (How appropriate!)
That's great news! Congratulations to him! :D
Thank you!

Happy Pines!! Hope you are all having a good day. The wind is a lot less today so it makes it so much more bearable out there! My kids have dentist appts at 12 so I am picking them up from school early. I am attempting my Chicken Tortilla soup again. My last batch I think I turned it up the temp too high and it thickened it too much..it was like paste...lol So hopefully I will make out better today!

It's really still too small for that many when it comes time to have everybody sit down to eat, but we make it work! ;) One year at Thanksgiving we put carpet down in our 2 car garage (neighbors have a large piece of carpet we borrowed) & we heated the garage & set up/decorated tables, just so everyone could eat in the same "room' - the rest of the time we were in the house, but we ate in the garage. This was before we remodeled & added the large island & sunroom, so hopefully we won't have to go through that hassle again! ;)

Again - good luck wishes, thoughts & prayers to your hubby. I have no doubt he is excellent at his job!! xx

Thank you, Meceka! (((Hugs)))

You're welcome, snowflake! (((HUGS)))

Its Goodnight from me christmas friends....Time to watch a movie...Ive reached 4000 posts tonite Wooo-Hooo...See you all tomorrow:)

Congratulations on 4000 posts, prancer!

Oh thanks M,
You got me thinking. I have this small wooden crate that I bet I can make work using a fake snow cover/blanket.

LOL yes they do!!

Hope all is well with you and Palmer. Take care and have a good evening.

You're welcome, Festive! I'm sure you could make the crate work in your village-scape! All is well with both Palmer and myself. Thank you for asking! I hope Mr. Festive is better and that you are having a relaxing and merry evening!

I'm jealous, too! :)
(Add to winter storm shopping list: Yarn. I'm liable to run out of the color I need to keep working on my current afghan this weekend! I've been buying it a couple skeins at a time.)

I buy yarn the same way, Merry. There are a couple of sampler afghans (one is knit and one is crochet) I want to make starting next month. One color of yarn is bought when it was on sale, I just need to figure out the second color and then got at least one skein so I can start. Plus I need to finish one I started early last fall.

I knew it'd hit me today losing like 1-2 hours sleep last night...I literally almost fell asleep standing up at work lol. That's just so terrible and unlike me. My eyes were closing as I was standing and I almost had to snap out of it as my body was wavering.

Hope you get back on schedule soon!

I've had a headache for a couple of days now, it's more annoying than anything. I should make an appointment to see my chiropractor. Other than that, I'm feeling much better. Thanks for asking!

Hope you have a lovely day, too!

I hope your headache is gone, snowflake!

Good Morning, Mid-Week 'Pines Attenders.

Yes, Folks. It's 'Pines Day one again.
And with it come today's numbers, delivered to your computer with an MMC smile:
Days to the Season: 298
Days to Christmas Day: 340

Well, after the exhilaration of reaching the 300-day Season Milestone and the commencement of a 200's count, is it too soon to discuss Milestone Marker number two?
<< Never, Crown! >>
OK, then. Let's consult our handy post number 1 chart.

Hmmm......... It seems to indicate that our next marker is set to arrive on February 12.
And.......believe it or not.......it's the ONE QUARTER MARK to the Season.
Well say, now. That's less than a month away. 23 days, to be exact. Three weeks from the day after tomorrow!
Wow. Nearly a quarter of the way back to the Christmas Season already.
I may swoon!!

Nice (well, not so nice) and cold here all day yesterday and the same will be the case today.
We have commenced at 23 degrees here this morning with the chance of some light snow late today.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, and I hope to see you all at the 'Pines tonight.
For some reason, I have an extra strong hankering for a fired twinkie this time!
(I swear that camel must be putting something in those twinkies to make them addictive.)

Thank you, Crown! You have a wonderful Wednesday, too!

Will do! Miss Gracie goes to the groomer today. She's excited. :jump Hugs back to you & Palmer!!! Hope you got some sleep last night with merry dreams!

Thank you, Holiday!

It's turned out to be a gorgeous winter day with clear blue skies and sunshine. I was tempted to go for a walk but work beckoned. Almost time to pick up my sons and then home to prepare dinner.

That is a beautiful rocking horse!

Morning everyone! Drive home this morning was a thrill. We have snow flakes dropping the
size of almond cookies and maybe 8" of snow.

Yummy, almond cookies, but as snow size, not so good! Stay safe and warm, NcGunny!

I just got a message from the weather channel saying snow would begin at 11:19am! LOL It's been snowing all morning! We don't have a full ground cover, but it's working on it.:snowball
