I've been listening to Christmas music on satellite radio since November 2nd & even watched two Hallmark Christmas movies yesterday that I hadn't seen. I wrapped gifts from Santa for DD on Friday. Still, I'm having trouble getting excited about Christmas. I'm really wanting to get our main tree up, but that won't happen until at least Thanksgiving night, but no later than the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I'm glad that DD is still a believer in Santa at 11 years old, but afraid that she's going to be made fun of if she doesn't find out the truth. Neither DH nor I want to tell her, so we're just letting her take the lead still. I guess I just have to get myself in the right frame of mind to get into the Christmas Spirit! Merry Christmas to all!
I hope you can get by another year with a believer in your house! xx We'll do our best to help you find that Christmas spirit! :) -glitterstocking-
Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Hello everyone. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a little over a week away.

We put up the outside Christmas decorations yesterday. It was an all-day job. We are planning on doing some more as well. We have the santa sleigh and reindeer blowmolds and we plan to put them on the roof this year. We actually went and bought 3 more reindeer to give the illusion of 8 reindeer.
Does anyone have any suggestions for attaching blowmolds to the roof? If so let me know!
It sounds really festive at your house!!! Have fun finishing up!!! :)

Merry Christmas, Holiday!
Wow! What a wonderful surprise!! And a great, fun filled weekend!
Have a fabulous week :)
Thanks snowflake! It was such a great surprise & a great weekend!

Hope your week is off to a good start! xx

Good Morning MMC !

The weather outside is delightful, feels more like early fall than just over a month before Christmas. It will be sunny and 15c (59f). Have been outside without a jacket on.

Off to work in about an hour, it was crazy yesterday , hoping not so bad today.

Going to redesign my whole competition cake due to lack of time to do what I had planed. New design may actually work better.

Hope you all have a fantastic day !
Fingers crossed that your cake will turn out better than ever!

Good evening,

Busy day today getting the house ready for Christmas. I was able to get our 2 main trees up. We aren't decorating them yet, because we want the kittens use to them. I had to move quite a bit of furniture to make room for the trees, so I am quite beat. I only have one more day off before Thanksgiving, so after work decorating will be the name of the game.
Watching the Bengals game now, I probably won't make the end of it.

I hope you all had a great day

Goodnight, everyone
Careful, if the kittens adopt the trees as their personal space, you may have a little trouble when you decorate them! Hopefully that won't happen, and you'll have two beautiful trees and some relaxed kittens lying quietly underneath.

I've seen a lot of houses with their outside decorations up already and most of them have turned them on. I think people are taking advantage of the mild weather right now to get it done. Mid-November, there's no stigma here in turning on the lights. I've always wondered why a lot of people in the US frown upon decorating before Thanksgiving. Hope you'll have perfect weather this weekend to hang up your decorations Frosty.
Some have a "one holiday at a time" mentality. They don't want to see any vestige of Christmas before Thanksgiving has passed. My parents were like that. Me, I had Christmas records on the turntable as soon as the Macy's parade was over and Santa was in town!

How wonderful that your brother was able to surprise everyone and you were able to take advantage of the opportunity to have a great meal and visit. The best surprise I ever had was a surprise visit from an old childhood friend who popped by out of the blue from California. My brother and I took her with us to visit the old neighbours and the old neighbourhood and were delighted that the lighting of the annual luminaries (runway for Santa) was still going on after we had moved from that area. Last year, I picked my brother up at the airport, but it wasn't a surprise. It was fun driving him around so he could finish his Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve Day; the pressure was off me because my gifts were bought and wrapped well before the "big day". These are the kind of special things that happen when we scroll through these merry pages and something we share sparks a memory in someone else. The Christmas Connection is strong.
Thanks AMD! It was a wonderful surprise!
Those are some great memories! Always nice to see an old friend or a friend/family from far away, surprise or not!

Thanks. Funny thing is this thread is one that I worry I don't have time for because there are so many posts to catch up on, especially if you miss a day or two (as we've all discovered). I managed to get caught up with the Special Posts and go from there.

-season- Yet, here I am again, catching up and feeling the merriment as always.

It is a busy thread!! And it's ok if you don't have a chance to read everything. Just always nice to see you pop in! :):)

Thank you for the prayers.

Well as it so happens...She told me during my visit on Sunday that she wanted to go upstairs to her own bed on Saturday night, but when it was time for bed, she was too tired to make the journey (12-14 stairs). I suggested she go up earlier and after a wonderful visit that revealed yet another story about my grandpa that I hadn't heard previously, she announced to my father and I that she was going to go up to bed, but not sleep at 6 o'clock so she would have the energy and then she could watch TV until she was tired.
We chatted again about celebrating the American Thanksgiving because we missed our own and she changed her mind. She doesn't want the fuss of preparing a meal and when Christmas rolls around it will be similar food. She's been laid up for so long that she wants me to take her out Christmas shopping and grab a hot turkey sandwich instead. I love that idea and the fact that she keeps "bouncing back". My mom and dad are such sweethearts and still such dear friends; it's nice watching them being a couple knowing that they're also my parents.
That is so sweet!
I hope you & your mom have a fun time shopping & your turkey sandwich is delicious!

I faked believing for 2 years because I thought the stockings and gifts would disappear if I didn't believe. The Christmas that my parents found out I didn't believe in Santa was one of the worst for me so after that I decided to believe again.
Still do. +k
My friends told their 5th grader a month or so ago about Santa - she rolled her eyes at them. She told them she has known about it, but she wouldn't tell them for how long she has known. Little booger! ;)

Tonight after I got home from work Carolina had me playing with her Peppa Pig house. She had us all cracking up because she tried to talk in a British accent like Peppa. I am hoping that wore her out and she sleeps all night
Too cute! Hope you all got some sleep!

We watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving tonight, it is probably the weakest of the big 3 Charlie Brown specials but we have to watch it every year.
Agree!

Probably a good idea to wait on the tree with those cute little kittens! :):)
Enjoy your day off. I hope work goes well for you between now & Thanksgiving!! xx I picked up our bird last week!

My neighbor put large C7 lights up on his back porch last night. I couldn't help but smile! :lightman
No lights in my neighborhood yet.

For a couple years I've been putting C7 strings on a lovely arbor vitae at the corner of the house, but the bulbs constantly burn out. As in a bulb or two every day! I'm thinking of getting GE brand light strings (instead of Home Depot house brand) and trying one more year. The strings are pricy, but I do love the "legacy" look of the bulbs, and want to find out if better strings will last longer. (Incandescent, that is. I haven't seen a C7 LED string that looks right to me.)

Good Morning/Afternoon christmas friends...Hope everyone is having a merry day so far...Its another wet day here again...My little girl is still not feeling too good but she isn't been sick any more just hot flushes so fingers crossed she will be back at school tomorrow or Thursday...Enjoy your day ahead christmas friends-gift-

Happy Tuesday Morning SnowflakeMom. Have not started my Christmas movie viewing yet, but ti will begin soon. Yesterday was a little busy and the rest of this week should be the same, but for the most part it will also be very productive. Only have a few Thanksgiving items left to get and then I'll be ready for it as well. I hope your Monday went well and that your Tuesday (and the remainder of the week) goes even better.

Hope you have a great Tuesday, CG!!

Merry Tuesday!

I am sorry I can't keep up with posts and replies these days. I hope you are all enjoying the lead up to Thanksgiving and plans are going well.

Just a quick stop by to wish everyone a magical day.

Have a great Tuesday, Festive!!

A very hearty hello to all the MMC community this Tuesday morning. Yesterday was filled with fun, a few relaxing moments and some work (of course). Today and tomorrow will be a bit strange as I try to get in some chores, sleep, a prayer meeting for our departed friend and then a mid-shift at Wally World. Wednesday will be even more hectic and I'm not even sure at this moment whether or not I will be headed to work that night, but I am content to wait and see.
Really ready for the end of this week and some time to seriously enjoy the week of Thanksgiving. I hope and pray you are all doing well and that you and yours are healthy, happy and filled to overflowing with the spirit of the season. Have a tremendous day...

Hope your days are not too crazy..

Morning everyone and a happy Tuesday. Long working week ahead for me, but the thought of bringing out the decorations is keeping me going. 30th November is D day, can't wait.
Have a wonderful day, Tis!

Good morning ~
Merry Tuesday!
We're expecting showers today with a high of 52 degrees. I'm fighting off a headache this morning thanks to the barometric pressure. Just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes. I have to get moving because everyone will be waking up soon. Bella has a veterinarian appointment later this morning. I was going to do some food shopping as well but I might hold off until tomorrow, I'll see how I feel. I'm going to finish decorating my Hallmark tree today. I was only able to hang all of the magic ornaments yesterday, I'll definitely finish the rest today and post a picture.
I hope everyone is well and has a nice day <3

Merry Tuesday, HMG. Good luck to Bella at the vet.
Hope your headache goes away..I am feeling so sleepy with this weather.

Good Tuesday morning! Another mild day coming up but mornings are still chilly enough to wear a tuque. More chores to get done today and I'll download some new Christmas music to add to my playlist. That is going to be a lot of fun! I haven't been in a hurry to do it because I usually listen to music in the car only but being on vacation, hubby uses the car daily. I've been looking at new recipes for the gift box I give my family members at Christmas, still not settled on this year's selection. Wishing everyone a fantastic day coming up!
Have a good day, Martine!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

It's been another hectic few days, and today is no different. I walked in the door here at work to several pressing questions, and one inoperable phone system. As you know, on top of my regular duties, I am the unappreciated and unpaid local IT tech who know almost nothing about the phones, but everyone is complaining to me about their absolute NEED for the phone. LOL "I don't do phones, people!" :p

I mentioned yesterday in a quick post that Jacob's gig last Friday night with the country music girl didn't pan out. After they droved 4.5 hours to central Florida, the place turned out to be more punk rock than country music. Ha! Her manager apologized profusely for mixing things up, and they came home. His University Singers concert in Savannah on Sunday, however, was AWESOME! It was a fund-raising concert to raise money for Hospice, and they sang beautifully.

We're going to the mountains again for Elizabeth's birthday present. A trip to the mountains seems like a birthday present for me, too!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Hope you day goes smoothly, Brad!! Weekend trip sounds great.
Glad Jacob's concert went well!

Merry Tuesday!
A rainy day here today so I am just working and listening to some Christmas music.
Tonight my youngest daughter has basketball practice and my oldest wants to go see a hypnotist that is putting on a show at the school so it will be a lot of driving back and forth. I ma hoping I can find someone to do a car pool.
Have a great day, my friends!!
We are one day closer to Thanksgiving!! :)

That must have been so adorable. Hope she did have a good night's sleep, as did you.
Thanks! she loves doing the daddy pigs voice. She slept until 615. I would have preferred longer but she woke up happy.

Too cute! Hope you all got some sleep!
Thankfully we did. hope you are well rested from your busy weekend

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! A rainy day here and after a 3 day weekend no wonder the alarm woke me out of a sound sleep. But after today the weather looks about as nice as it can get for Wednesday through Saturday with sunshine and highs near 60! After that looks like we head for a November chill. Maybe just in time for Thanksgiving week. The mall felt like it's all set up for everyone to burst into Christmas. Decorations all over, an empty Santa chair set up, Christmas music playing...and you can just feel it. It's a great feeling. And it's just about to begin.
Have a great day!
GM Edge, hope you have a great Tuesday! I am looking forward to the chillier weather for Thanksgiving, it definitely puts me in the spirit even more!

Happy Tuesday Morning Holiday. I can sum up your post very simply... WOW!!!
Fun, busy, surprises, good friends, family and food. It will be hard to top that in the coming weeks, but I am certain you and your family will try. I hope the "workday reality" was not too much of a let down. May the rest of your week go quickly and help you get ready for the season.

If you would have told me on Friday the kind of weekend we were going to have, I would have told you you were crazy. ha ha!! So fun! I made it through Monday & now on to the rest of the week - and thankfully we have Thanksgiving to look forward too! :)

Exciting!!! Hope your work week goes well! Have a good day!

Last night I looked at "your memories from this day 2015" and look what I saw....

upload_2016-11-15_10-22-7.png

Last year I put up my tree on Nov. 14th! Ahhhhhhh - this is really going to bother me having to wait this year. LOL! (though I'm happy to host Thanksgiving!)

I have work again tonight and we will be pushing out as much christmas as possible. My neighbors have a few small decorations out but nothing lit yet. It finally stopped raining but very breezy and cold. Can't believe how close thanksgiving is
