Thread Update!!! Only 39!! Thats right Merry Christmas Folks..only 39 more posts to beat last years total post count!! (am I sounding like Crown?)
Anyways..keep em coming today.

So much to do and so little time. I have to get my dad's gift still and my secret Santa for work. I pulled one of our newer cashiers and of course it's a high schooler...have no idea what they are into. I am hoping to get some wrapping done this weekend and also some stocking stuffers bought. I work at 3 today so probably won't have time to get much doneeded since Carolina doesn't nap anymore.
Have a great day!

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 26 **

Good Morning, Friends.
And thus we pass over the half-way mark of Christmas Season 2016.
Things will REALLY start to accelerate now, as we well know.

The daily count:
Days to Christmas Day: 17 (Now UNDER 2 1/2 weeks remain!)

The luke-warm weather hangs on and looks like it will be with us for one last day today before the bottom falls out tomorrow. The weather service is now saying that we could get wind chills in the teens by this weekend.
BRRRR!
We are currently at 50 degrees here in our part of North Carolina after an overnight rain.

Well, a good time was had by all at the 'Pines yesterday evening.
Keep in mind that Carl will keep the inn decorated in high Christmas right on through New Years Day so there is plenty of time to see it at its best.
And the remaining open houses will be just as festive, especially the last one before Christmas Day (December 21).

You have a Thrilling Thursday, OK?
And try to stay warm if you are in one of the places being assaulted by winter weather!

Thxs Crown!! We got snow falling now!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!
Tomorrow is a vacation day for me. If Mr. is told not to go in for work, maybe I can talk him into going into Boston to see the "Winter Garden" at City Hall Plaza. They're supposed to have a little Christmas market this year. If Mr. has work, I still have audio work to finish.

I took a look at Amazon's daily deals yesterday, and scored a nice bargain: more than 50% off a Blue Yeti microphone. I've been wanting one of those for over a year, but they were too expensive. I'm looking forward to trying it out when it arrives!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

Elizabeth still has an awful cold, so I doubt she's going to school. Nancy was going to let her sleep late this morning and see how she feels later.

I went to town last night to get Elizabeth some egg drop soup at the Chinese place. While I was waiting on them to make our orders, I stopped by Jim's shop. He was working on a Camaro that he had recent put a super charger on. He wanted me to go for a "ride" with him on a seldom-used road. We were doing 140MPH before I knew it! I told him that was enough for me!! My heart was pumping 140MPH, too LOL!

Tonight is our office Christmas party at a locally-famous steak place on the river. I've pretty much given up red meat since my heart attack, and that's all they offer. But, that's what Russell wanted, so it's steak for me tonight!;)

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve!! We start off today with 23º (Feels like 10º) - I can hear the wind outside. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!! So glad to be inside - with my space heater going!!!

So I guess the plan is for Mom to come home on Sunday! (Fingers crossed) That will be 15 nights in the hospital again! That's a long time! :( She's still very weak, but getting better every day! Thanks for all the prayers!

Tomorrow is my annual shopping day with my friend. Looking forward to it - I've never been so unprepared for it. No coupons, & no lists! Haven't really even thought about it! BUT it will be good 'n fun! :)

The new recipe for beef stew last night was AMAZING!! I couldn't stop picking at it! So tasty!!

Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Stew Recipe- TOH
1-1/2 pounds boneless beef chuck roast, cut into 1-inch cubes
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 cups water
1-1/2 cups fresh baby carrots
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
1 medium onion, chopped
1 celery rib, chopped
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon browning sauce, optional (I used Natures Seasonings)
2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup cornstarch
3/4 cup cold water
2 cups frozen peas, thawed (I used corn)
Directions

1. Place the beef, potatoes, water, carrots, soup, onion, celery, Worcestershire sauce, browning sauce if desired, bouillon granules, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper in a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender.
2. Combine cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl until smooth; gradually stir into stew. Stir in peas. Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes or until thickened. Yield: 8 servings (3 quarts).

Everyone, have a fabulous day!!

Good evening,

I finally am caught up again, it was a long day here. I am still not finished with my decorating, this year feels like a lost cause at this point.
Two more work days left until NYC, I am so excited, I cannot wait to see the Rockefeller Center tree.
I hope you all had a great day
Goodnight, everyone

Good Morning, friend~
I hear you! It feels like this season is flying by and I haven't had time to really enjoy it and take it all in.
So excited for you & your NYC trip!! :D
Have a great day!

Some people at work today were talking about Darlene And I said ... Ohhh do you observe Lovemas? They had the nerve to look at me like I was crazy .... Some people just don't understand the Darlene World ...

Morning all and a Merry Friday eve to one and all. Random thought of the day. Imagine how much more you'd get done if you didn't have to sleep.

Happy Friday Eve, 'Tis!
No kidding!!! Ahh, to have more hours in the day! ;)

It's a chilly day here, too. At least we've had pretty snow for the past couple of days!
It was 16 degrees when I got up, and there's a blustery wind. Brrr!
Have a wonderful day!

Happy Pines Day!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful time.
Nathan (oldest son) had a band concert this evening. He plays drumset for the jazz band. The concert went well. He also had is audition for the school play just before the concert. He said that went well also. He had to do a monologue of his choosing. He did "Modern Man" which is a George Carlin bit. Nathan is a HUGE Carlin fan!
