Happy Tuesday Snowflake. It is always nice to see neighbors helping out. We have the same type of thing here. Not on a Cul De Sac, but people assist in driveways and sidewalks (especially in heavy snow days). I'm glad you were able to enjoy some quality "Holiday" time with your Mom. Looks like she is having a lot of fun. Time is getting short and like most, I still have a few things to get done. Hoping that by next weekend, everything will be done and we can all relax a bit before Santa takes flight.

A "balmy" -3° This morning! And wind chill of -16° !! Baby, it's cold outside! Ahhh, that is winter in Wisconsin.
'Tis the season
We had such a mild start and full fall, I can't complain. Perfect time for nesting. Looking forward to a White Christmas!
I am still trying to tie up a few odds & ends with Christmas shopping.
And then I need to start wrapping!
I think Harlowe can smell some of her gifts

Morning! Temps are tolerable for today and tomorrow as well. After that we're going into the ice box for a couple of days before some snow/ice on Saturday morning just in time for my brother to arrive at the airport. Oh man...I sense delays. Then we're supposed to get mild and rain later Saturday. The weather man showed last night that Thursday and Friday will be 30 to 40 degrees colder this year on those dates than last year. What a difference a year makes. I got a good amount of wrapping done last night and 3 Christmas shows! I am making sure I take it all in this week! Have a great day!

Greetings Edge. Morning here in Sioux Falls is -1 with a wind chill of -15 and nothing in the foreseeable future above the freezing mark. Plus snow on Thursday and Friday. We are averaging 10 - 15 degrees below normal for this time of year, but I try to keep a positive attitude and hope that if the cold starts early, maybe the Spring will arrive early as well. Never hurts to dream a bit. Have fun finishing up the gift wrapping. I have some to complete this AM myself and enjoy the day...

Well, a respite from the cold and wet weather was quite welcomed yesterday.
Today should be a tad cooler with rain more likely, but still not bad.
We have commenced this second day of the week at 42 cloudy degrees here in the capital city.

Good Tuesday morning! Another afternoon/evening shift for me. My brother and dad will be coming over next Tuesday to celebrate Christmas, so I have to figure out what I'm going to serve. Thankfully I have Friday off so I'll be able to get all I need then. Hope everyone will have a great day!

The starter is so tart it puckers your mouth...bread didnt have much sour taste and the bottoms got rather tough. No more loafs for me. Back to the dutch oven and round loafs again.

Thanks...my nephew smiled all day & night long - not something we see too often. They are a beautiful couple!

Candy day was great...rushed, split up, but nice! Home health & occupational therapy had their 1st meetings with Mom so my oldest sis & Emma were at Moms with them, missing most of the festivities. 2 of my nieces had to leave early. it was just different this year - but all good! We took Emma out for dinner last night for her birthday! That was nice - my BIL is sick so they didn't make it & Jim had to work too late, so he couldn't come, but 12 of us made it. Emma had a pretty good birthday I think! I have plenty for you - come on over!

LOVE the picture of your mom. She looks great & so festive! Glad the cookies turned out great!!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Nothing much happened yesterday afternoon. I went home about 5:30 and fell asleep on the couch for a half hour. That never happens to me! I got up and went to Bernie's store to get a veggie pizza for supper, then I was back asleep. I must be getting old.

Nancy left the house a 5:30 this morning to keep our niece's youngest son while she took her oldest to a medical appointment. I now know that Nancy CAN wake up in the mornings, with the proper motivation.

Well it looks like we are getting our first real snowfall of the season has started. They are saying 1 to 3 inches by noon and its defintely adding up quickly. Then bitter cold moving in but not as cold as Snowflake thankfully.

Happy Tuesday!

The "Scrooge" movie show really got me into the spirit last night. A marvelous movie (the audience was enthralled...didn't hear a peep from them until they laughed at the reformed Scrooge dancing around yelling "Whoop! Halloo!"), then driving home listening to Christmas music and seeing the Christmas lights along the way. Had to have a cup of cocoa before bed! Looking forward to the weekend so I can indulge in more Christmas!

Mom & I had a wonderful time baking together & watching Christmas movies.
And we had a blast being snowed in! The storm started Saturday evening, and it's only stopped snowing for a few hours since. A beautiful winter wonderland! Adrian got good use out of his new snow blower. He and a few of our neighbors helped people get out of their driveways in our cul de sac, after the plows went through. It was nice to see everyone chipping in.
I really feel the time crunch! Christmas season is going by too quickly, I just want to freeze time & be able to take it all in. I know I'm not the only one feeling that way, sending hugs and prayers up for all.

Oh my gosh snowflake - I love that pic of your mom & Har in the window. So adorable! And look at all that snow. How fun!!! Being snowed in & making cookies sounds so cozy. Sorry you weren't able to bake with your sis & niece!

I'm all about freezing time right now!!! Mom is going to require 24/7 care for awhile. Sounds like I'll be staying Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. I'm going to make a list of things I can bake for Christmas while I'm there. I'm also planning to put up her Christmas decorations! She's been sleeping a lot right now, so I should have some down time to get things done!

What kind did you finally get? I've grown fond of the Golden Eggnog (they use only the egg yolks instead of the whole egg). I like the Vanilla Eggnog too. I was mad a couple years ago when they stopped making it. It was back the following year, though!
