Nachos, sliders, chili cheese fries, pulled pork on the menu for tonite...and a big ole jug of Rolaids

Thanks, HMG; I've sure missed the merriment, especially since the across the creek neighbours turned off their outdoor Christmas ligths and things are looking might drab out back.

My mom went to the hospital to remove a wee bit of her colon hoping it would clear up her medical worries with a cancer scare. Less than a week after she was released, she was right back in again; this time with poison in her body from the surgery. They got her cleaned out, but now she has to wear an ostomy bag and that was something she was adamant about not wanting. They told her it might only be for 4-6 months. She'll get used to it and eventually realize it's better than the alternative, but it's embarrassing and frustrating for her.

My dad ranted about his views on the situation privately to me before he contacted anyone else with an update on her condition so he could get all the negative stuff off his chest before he talked optimistically about it with other family members and relatives. I'm glad he and I have that kind of relationship where he can unload when required, otherwise he'd just keep everything all bottled up and that wouldn't do him any good.

When I return later, I'll be anxiously awaiting the opportunity of hearing the merry podcast that I missed out on because my laptop wasn't working and it contains the music players I require to listen. I can hardly wait.

You're welcome AMD. I'm glad you're back, I always enjoy reading your posts.
I will keep your parents in my thoughts (((hugs)))

Well HMG it's gonna be a very wintry week ahead BUT my long-range inside sources (lol) tell me the following week we're going back into the 40s and even the 50s by two weeks from now. I have noticed in recent years once we get into the 2nd half of February it seems like the "worst" is usually over. Not to say we can't get some cold/snow through late February into March but normally not as severe as Mid Dec-Mid Feb.

I shouldn't complain, it really hasn't been bad this winter!

Thanks so much, friend.
I'm sure hoping, it was a rough night. She was having a difficult time and shaking all night. And a struggle to get her pills down this morning. (and the morning is half doses) Not looking forward to tonight's. I did take a play out of your book, and rang the doorbell. It worked for one of them!
xx

Poor Harlowe. It just breaks my heart when they're not well. Have you ever tried to hide the pills in liverwurst? I always have that in the house for Maggie. I have them cut it kind of thick. I cut the pill up in to smaller pieces and press it in to little squares of liverwurst. It might be worth trying.
You wouldn't believe what we do here to make Maggie take her pills. I send the girls and my husband outside to ring the bell & knock on the door every day. My neighbors must be wondering what the heck we're doing, lol. Maggie nervous eats so it usually works!

(((Hugs))) and prayers.
I hope your body feels stronger soon.
xo

Hope you have a wonderful day, too!
Sweet photo <3

Thank you so much! ♥

Mr. was out earlier and stopped to pick up a few things at the supermarket for this week's lunches, but had to leave empty-handed ... there were NO carts or baskets to use!
I know. I rarely ever go food shopping on a Sunday afternoon because it's busy but I came back today and wow the store was mobbed. It honestly felt like it was Christmas Eve out. Like everyone is running out to get their items for the "big night" and in this case the "big game."

Thanks so much, friend.

Bless her heart! I hope she improves quickly!
