Gas is $1.61 here, but I heard on the news to expect a 50¢ to 70¢ increase soon because the refineries plan on maintenance. Riiiiiight.

Ohhhhhhhh ... I just got homesick.
In the county where I grew up, today is Kinkling Day. Unless you grew up there, you have probably never heard of kinklings! They're distant cousins of fastnachts, I guess, because there's a good deal of German heritage there. They taste like fluffy powdered donuts, and I haven't had any for decades ...

They look so tasty!

Already two strikes on the day: I'm badly missing my kinklings; and my dental insurance won't cover a penny of some work that I can't put off---that'll be nearly $4K out of pocket. It's a long story, but if I could get my hands on the dentist who years and years ago botched a root canal that caused me to lose that tooth last year to infection ...

Time to think of something else and turn this bad attitude around.

A late one for me tonight, it was the night we did our taxes. We didn't even eat until 9:30. I fed the boys at 4, and sent them to their babysitter. I am trying to catch up here, but the yawns keep getting in the way.

I will catch up tomorrow.

Evening friends. A couple of hectic days are ahead, but I'm planning a few days off at the end of the month so focusing on that. This blasted chest infection is still lingering though which is annoying to say the least. Hope everyone is having a good week so far.

So sorry to hear you are ill! Chest infections can linger and that really takes a toll on your body. Be sure to look after yourself as it is easy to relapse. Subzero temps and arctic winds moving so take care in that cold.

We had an okay night, I didn't sleep well- had nightmares & my heart was racing, so it was tough to fall back asleep.
It's going to be hard leaving today, but I'm thankful my friend will be looking in on her.

It's going to be hard leaving today, but I'm thankful my friend will be looking in on her.

Thank you so much for thinking of me. I woke up not feeling as much side effects from the meds so my body is probably adjusting now. There has been slight improvement but I am reminding myself it's only the 3rd day so I am sure things will improve at a quicker pace as the days progress.

She isn't eating for me, and is weak again.
I really wish the weekend was here, praying she hangs in & eats on her own today.
I'm just so scared.

I know it's hard to concentrate on work when you have something going on at home so I wish you the best today in doing that. It will help the day go by quicker if you do. Good luck to Har today!

Good Wednesday Morning MMC! I got to work an hour early today. More overtime this week. I've been consistently getting a few hours or more of OT this year so far. I'm not complaining about the extra $. But it just makes me appreciate the weekends even a tiny bit more and being able to not have to rush out early. And this weekend coming especially I'm glad I won't have to because the temps are going to be bitter cold. I'm hopeful this will be our coldest stretch of the winter. By next week it's supposed to moderate at least in to the 30s and 40s. That will feel like Florida compared to this weekend. Am I mentioning the word "weekend" too many times when it's only Wednesday? By the way I saw a few houses lit again as I drove to work. Crazy huh? Feb 10! Keep it going till the end of Feb I say!

By the way out of the 60 days of the Jan/Feb doldrums...we've already gone through 40 with 20 to go (including today). 2/3 of the way through the worst 2 months of the year, in my humble opinion and then things only get better and better from March on!

The day after tomorrow, Guys -- the ONE QUARTER Milestone marker to Christmas Season 2016!
(How did we get to this point so fast? Won't somebody please tell me??)


Cold here and it will get progressively colder until the weekend when we are predicted to get down into the middle teens, with a wind chill near zero.
At least there has been no precipitation of any kind.
We have started this chilly one off at 27 degrees here in the capital city.


OK, Friends. Open house day once again at the 'Pines!
(And don't worry - there are no more ground hog leftovers.)
Not sure what Carl has planned for this evening's entertainment but it is sure to be - um - interesting.

Nope, she didn't unfortunately.
And she keeps throwing up, and shaking. Barely has the strength to walk.
I finally heard from my vet office & they're getting her in this afternoon.

Hey Sam~
No meds. She had a pretty rough day, had to take her to the vet. She was dehydrated from getting sick so much, so they injected her with fluids, anti-nausea meds, and gave her a dose of the antibiotic.
She did pretty well with the exam, considering.
She's no longer shaking, but I still can't get her to eat or walk. She just wants to lay around, which is not like her at all. Makes me sad.

Makes me sad, too. Wish I could do something to help you out. (((HUGS))

View attachment 19701 So this was taken yesterday as part of our save the date pics. That took up much of my day until the Superb Owl. Then today I took our tree to the brush site for recycling and then spent a good 5hrs at the church (I took today off from the university as I always do after the Superb Owl) working on worship technology and sound items. Now I'm at the radio station running the Intra-City clash Hockey edition (we have 2 public high schools in town). Been a busy but overall good day for me. @snowflake22 praying hard for you and Har hoping something will bring her around so you can enjoy her company for longer than they're predicting. Also praying for everyone to be in good health and for your days to go as planned or better.
