It's crisp & cold this morning. I ground a fresh bag of coffee to bring to work, and, I'm telling you, it's hard to beat!

There are many concerns here on MMC lately, and I'm praying for all of you. I'd appreciate continued prayers for my brother's health. He's too stubborn to take care of himself properly.

We have had a GOOD night!
I came home and my girl was still a little shaky, but ate a treat in front of me. Good prequel to the rest of the night so far. Then we went outside and I was hoping she'd walk past the driveway, which she did, so we went on a walk. We went the whole way around our neighborhood this time, with her leading me. She seemed to enjoy sniffing & investigating the other scents again. Another good sign.
Then we came home and unpacked her care package from our friends. She seemed curious, so I cut up the hamburger and started the stove. We threw in some of the beef broth from Michelle and Gracie, and she was interested in it cooking the whole time. Another yeah! moment.
I let her smell the fork I was using, which got her even more interested. Then while I was cutting it up, I gave her just enough to stay interested. Then I took her new medicine (thank God it's small) and wrapped it in some hamburger, and hand fed it to her.! She didn't even realize.
{So ecstatic because I've done that before & she always detected it, little stinker.}
She ate pretty darn well considering she's eaten so little in the past five days.
She even got a little spunky afterwords, so I know that food gave her a little bit of energy and strength. Yay!!!!!!!
Like I said earlier, we have a long road ahead but at least we can face it head on when she's stronger.

We have indeed arrived at our second Milestone of the 2016 Christmas Countdown!

Days to Christmas Day: 317

Yes, Folks. The first quarter of our Season count is now behind us.
(And after this next quarter is done, we will be HALF way through!)


We are in a cold rut here.
Day after day. It doesn't change.
Today's installment comes in at 28 degrees and it won't get past the mid 30's all day. Frozen precipitation of some kind is predicted for later today as well, to spice things up a bit.


Regardless, it is Weekend Eve and we are all set to have a Fabulous Friday, right?

Well, I tried to get caught up tonight, but I have failed. I read over 300 posts, but the eyelids aren't having it.
I am on my vacation, so extra sleep in the am.
I will try to get caught up again tomorrow.

I've talked to xmastidings a bit, he's hanging in. I know it's not an easy time for him, but I think he's been staying busy. His daughter adopted a cat, named Mi-mi, and she's been good company too.

Good to hear he is keeping busy. I heard about Mi Mi :) :) we exchanged a couple emails recently but hadn't heard from him since his news about his son last Saturday. I just wondered if he's okay.

It was a pretty good day overall, just crazy at work. And then the vet tech forgot to cut up her pills (they're not the ones with a slit for easy cutting) so I had to run over there on my lunch break as well as come home to check on Har and walk her. She actually followed me to the door and tried to come with! It made me happy and sad at the same time, because lately she's been too miserable to care.
But then I got a text from Reggie saying that she came in the house to our entry mat ripped up, and Har had the evidence on her face...ooops. Caught, the little stinker. Hopefully she didn't ingest anything. Knowing her, when she gets upset, she wants to scratch at something, and it was already coming undone in the corner. Needless to say, I need a new mat =]
Har walked well, and has been eating & drinking. And I got her to take the antibiotic with butter!
