Wow! Can't believe it was the 4th of January before I had my first post on the countdown! Heck, I think it has been over two weeks since I logged in to the forums!

Christmas was great. I am amazed at how much fun little ones add. When Bambina walked into the living room and saw what Santa brought, she just had the best smile. Amazing. We had so much fun tracking Santa. She kept asking all day, "Where is Santa?" Fun stuff. Even better than that...when we told her it was time to go to bed because Santa was coming, she kinda got scared. We sit in bed and watched Polar Express while drinking hot chocolate (coffee for me...Santa told me it was going to be a long night). It was just a great time. The one thing about little ones was that it just made it harder to get here...

I missed y'all. Hope you had a great Christmas!

It sounds like you made some wonderful memories, coach!
Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year!!

what is with some Americans and Canadian $$$$ ?
The reaction of some folks in Port Huron left me thinking I was trying to pay them with a rattle snake.
The first guy actually backed away from the desk with his hands up declaring they do not ever take Canadian $. This at a business that deals almost excursively with Canadians.
The next was a couple of banks who said they do not do $ exchange, one said they do not deal with anyone who had no account.(of course that one at least made sense)
Then we went to the duty free shop, a guy in a little shack out front informed me unless I was going back to Canada I could not just walk in. I also had to buy something. I looked at him and said I live in Canada of course I was going back and I would buy something but I needed to exchange my $$ first. The duty free shop was the only place I could do it. He said he was sorry but management would not allow it. I looked at him and asked him what in the world was so scary about Canadian $ that everyone here had such a bad reaction to it ? I did not have time to go all the way back to Canada just to exchange a bit of $ when it could be done here. He let me pass and I had no trouble once inside to do it.
Lesson learned, never go south of the boarder without making sure all the $$$ you need has been exchanged.
Rant done

Wow I am so sorry!! On behalf of Americans everywhere... I apologize. ;-)
That's odd! The only thing I can think of is that in a border area PERHAPS the coins are overlooked so someone using a Canadian coin could be mistaken for a US coin. Your paper currency doesn't look like ours at all so that certainly couldn't be confused.

I have been to Niagra on the Lake several times because my uncle lives on the river state side in Youngstown, NY just outside of Niagra, NY. I never had trouble whether using US or Canadian, but of course that was in Canada with stores already dealing with a huge influx of American tourists. The clerks always had a currency converter at the counter and told the difference depending on what the customer had on hand.

I'm so sorry that was your experience. :-(

Hey I was just wondering. I know I struggle to keep up on here so I was just wondering if anyone has heard from Gabulldawg?? Everytime I see one of his photos flash up on the MMC banner, I wonder about him.
I have heard nothing from him, it has been nearly a year since his last post.

Good morning everyone ~
My husband heads back to work today and we will all settle back in to our normal routines. It's going to be a busy day for me. My youngest was not feeling well last night so I'm going to call her doctor as soon as they open and see if I can get her in. I also have to drive my mother to an eye doctor appointment this afternoon. And I need to run to the florist to order flowers. We have to attend a wake this evening, my daughters boyfriends Uncle passed away. He had Leukemia and was only 53 years old. So sad. :(
I will be on the run most of the day but will pop in when I get a chance.
I hope everyone is well and has a nice day ♥
xx
I hope your daughter is feeling better.
I am sorry for your daughter's boyfriends family's loss, 53 is too young.

Although Christmas 2015 has passed, I still am listening to festive music. Here's to Christmas 2016!
I was listening to Christmas music to and from work, there is a Catholic radio station that plays it until Jan. 6th in Connecticut. I played it while making dinner tonight. Loving it still.

So glad to see you, I was getting worried about. I just asked if anyone had heard from you.
Glad to hear Christmas was great, the little ones really make it more magical.
