Christmas Countdown - 2016

I was wondering if MMC is still using Tapatalk? I love the new layout that makes the forum mobile friendly in a device browser! That's great! Though - I haven't yet found a way for current updates, replies and recent post feeds for notification. I also haven't had time yet to go through the new set up to see if I can set the forum to send me text notifications, etc, so my apologies if I'm jumping the gun in asking.
I actually had Tapatalk on my phone JUST for the MMC feed in 2013 and beginning of 2014. LOL

When the updated site began, I just added it to my "homescreen" on my phone. It's easy to get on right away, and I get my notifications like you would on your desktop or laptop.

MMC is no longer using Tapatalk, it isn't really necessary anymore, which is great!

Okay, either this bronchitis needs to go away or it needs to warm up. This cold air is not agreeing with my lungs at all right now.

Try plenty of hot tea with honey and lemon. It's very soothing when you have chest congestion.
(Yes, Dr. Merry always suggests this!)

Not the case here. Granted my husband wasn't prepared for what I meant when we were dating and I said, "I LOVE Christmas," and he said, "Oh me too!" His Christmas was far different from mine, but he never had any problem with my decorating and carols. He thought it was just part of my personality and now he does sweet things like, when he sees any coffee shop advertise their first autumn flavors, he stops and brings one home to me, because he knows it's one of the ear-markers of the season for me. Whenever he spots a Santa, Reindeer, Snowman or Christmas tree type coffee mug he gets it for me. And if he doesn't hear Christmas carols coming from my Pandora station at least once a week through out the year he gets concerned wanting to know what's wrong. LOL
He is also fully in support of my dream to one day move to a town in the north that is Christmas-centric where they revel in it - if there is such a place besides on the Hallmark channel. LOL

Merry afternoon all! My first check in today thus far.

Hope everyone is well and getting along in whatever weather you're living in. PCBs hit hard this morning as I took the trash can to the road for Monday morning pick up services and saw that most of my neighbors finally took everything down over the weekend, the school bus stopped to pick up the kids and more neighbors were enroute to work.

Listening to carols as I work, my decorations are still up and in about 30 minutes I'll be working on an Epiphany gift for my son's girlfriend. LOL It's her first Epiphany gift or being around people who celebrate anything past December 25th. She's too cute. "You do?? You really have ANOTHER day you celebrate part of Christmas season??"

Last night she came in, the carols were still on and the tree and fireplace were all lit up. She exclaimed, "I LOVE THIS HOUSE!!!!" ROFL She cracks me up.

That is so cute. I bet she is excited!!!
My PCB's come & go. We'll all get through it together!!

My PCB moment today was shortly before I got to work and saw not one, but two DPW trucks full of discarded Christmas trees. It's so sad that the trees go from beautiful to discarded in such a short space of time.

I'm leaving my trees and lights and Nativity up until tomorrow night. I'll pack them away over the weekend.

This past weekend I prepared a new iTunes library for the post-season (that includes a "safety net" of Christmas tunes!), but I haven't had the heart to sync it to my phone yet. I think I miss the Christmas music most of all, but if I listened to it year-round, I wouldn't get the same thrill I get when I bring it out in the fall.

No more Tapatalk---the current platform serves mobile devices as well as browsers.
Most of your settings (like notifications) can be found in the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Hover over your name, and the menu should drop down. It seems strange when it's new, but poke around the site when you have the time and it doesn't take long to get familiar with it.

What is NOT helping with my PCB's/vacations over/back to work/Monday blues is the fact that my boss has been in the office ALL day, therefor I have been listening to Fox News ALL day!! I like to keep up on what's going on, but how depressing to listen to this all day.... So glad I have all you MMC peeps to chat with!!!

Merry - I missed the frightening one due to my low activity last year. If I may ask, what happened?

I don't remember the details, but he was talking about feeling really sick. The wording was alarming, and then nothing since. Someone pinpointed the date as Feb. 24---if you go into last year's Countdown you should be able to find it.
