Usually if it's a loud noise you hear it's the brakes. If you just hear a small sound when you step on the brakes it's usually the brake pads. Brake pads definitely are less expensive.

It just started, and it's a light screech, so I'm hoping it's just the pads.

Years ago at my last job I stayed in a pretty bad snowstorm instead of leaving when I should have. Driving down a hill from work I couldn't stop and my car spun sideways and I went right through a stop sign. Luckily nobody was coming from the intersection or I would have been hit. Pretty scary. Better safe than sorry!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's finally chilly in the south! It was 26°F when I came to work this morning. I still have to cut the grass again, since it was in the 70's and 80's for the last two weeks, but I'm hoping the cool weather is here for a while.

We did Christmas with Nancy's sister on Sunday night, so the kids loved that. I got a refillable movie popcorn bucket from our local theater, so I liked that!

Merry Tuesday morning all!

Hope your day is well and blessed. Any of you in cold zones stay safe and warm and snows don't hinder your driving conditions... or rain in Maureen's case. ;-)

Have my usual work today and trying to finish Noah's girlfriend's pendant for Epiphany tomorrow. It's probably the most detail work I've done on a small piece.

I was also toying with the idea of once we take our tree down, stripping the limbs, leaving the trunk intact at it's full length and carving a full Santa's sleigh with all the reindeer hitched to it. We shall see. I may do that with the bulk of the trunk that is the same diameter for the deer and then the more narrow tapered end could become elves, gifts to go in the sleigh, or perhaps a Christmas tree itself. Lots of ideas. Would be a good project to take me all the way to Christmas this year. LOL

That would be beautiful!! What a lovely project that would be. Keep us posted!

Typical day here, I have a couple of errands to run and then I'll be working on some chores around the house. I was so busy yesterday, I didn't have any time do work on the laundry so I'll be catching up with that today. My youngest has another doctor appointment this afternoon. It's been one thing after another with her. Never a dull moment!

I had to "break" the brake news to Adi last night, after I dropped off our earnest money check, and he deposited money into our retirement funds. I had to preface it with, I know we've had to spend a lot of money today, but...

Afternoon all,
Hope you are having a good Tuesday! I am thankful the school run is over for today. I just want to stay in and hibernate. I wish this rain would ease up now. The drains are over flowing now and wadding through water is the norm now. The garden looks like a pool. There seems no where for the water to go to now. The water over saturated an area underneath the car which started hanging and dragging so had to be repaired. Thankfully I am not near large bodies of water where the flooding is severe - bless those people.

At least it is not cold these days. We are around 7-8C so it's been comfortable. It's been the warmest December in history for us!!

Hope you can relax now that you're back from the school run. Thinking of you.

I know that I've read popcorn is actually somewhat healthy (until you throw on tons of butter ).
