Thats going to be a tough day for you tomorrow graywolf70 (((Huggs))):)
Thank you Prancer. :) Hope you're feeling better and your family remains in great health! :D

Can't go wrong with pumpkin bread!!
Gracie is good. She's hanging out in the garage right now. I have the door cracked open for her so she can come & go. She loves the cooler weather. Guess it's too warm in the house for her. LOL She wasn't sure about all the activity going on today - boxes coming & going up & down the steps, sweeper running, etc. I'm almost done so I'll have to play with her soon. How's Har?
Aww, I bet she's having fun!
Har is hanging in. Taking her meds pretty well, but the antibiotics may be upsetting her stomach. She's extra snuggly today.

Afternoon All! My first check in of the day. Everyone was gone around here by 7:30am so I've just been working on a myriad of things from work-work to housework. ;)

Tree comes down tomorrow. If I had an artificial one I'd leave it up longer. Everyone's discussion today regarding how many houses still have lights up with trees lit and such made me remember something. When I was a child we had a neighbor across the street who always had her tree sitting curbside for the yard debris pick up on December 26th. It always made me so sad, because where we were from, no one ever took their tree and lights down till some time well into January.

After several years had gone by and I was older, I asked her why and she said, "It's December 26th. Christmas is over. Good riddance." It felt like I was speaking to Ebeneezer Scrooge himself. LOL What I thought was funny was she was such a very nice woman. I always wondered what made her despise the holiday like that.

My son just came home so I'm going to help him with a project he's doing for his girlfriend's father and then he'll be heading out. Bud won't be home till well after 8:30 or 9 tonight. So I'll just keep working on things. LOL We always try to get all of our work things done and out of the way so when we get to be home together - we can just spend time with each other.

Hope everyone has a blessed Saturday. Be safe driving in your snowy conditions. We have thunderstorms today and then finally a cool front tomorrow. I'm so excited!
Good evening, friend!
It sounds like you're having a busy, but nice and productive day as well.
I agree with you, there must've been a story behind her not liking Christmas. Sad.
Enjoy your special time with Bud tonight.
❤️

I got my 1 ticket for the $800 million lotto tonight. If I win we're having an MMC party and everyone can buy all the Christmas decorations they want on me.

I got my tickets today also. Hoping one of us can win it.

I always wonder what makes some people hate Christmas so much. But honestly as I've gotten older I think that there definitely is a minority of people that hate the holidays but I do believe they are a minority. Then us at MMC are certainly the opposite minority where we're obsessed with it as it's something we think about every day of the year. But the others in between the majority many of them act very lukewarm if you mention Christmas stuff to them. But I just think a lot of them forget. They don't remember all year long like we do how amazing, awesome, and special those days, weeks and even months are in the BERS. I've seen it with my own eyes people who claim to not care much for the holidays but when it comes...they have the time of their life and remember how awesome it is. Problem is by January they've forgotten again and won't remember until it hits them again some time around Thanksgiving and possibly as late as mid-December. I'm glad we have MMC here to help us always remember how special those days are.

Our stores were so picked over. Even the dollar store had very little Christmas left this past week. Bummer here, but awesome for you! Enjoy the lights that are still up! When I brought Mom home Thursday night, I counted 3 or 4 houses with lights on yet - that was it! :(
Same here. I went to Jo-Ann Fabric for some yarn, and there was VERY little left. I got some $3.99 gift bags for 79 cents each, though!

I took down the outdoor lights this morning and packed them away. I'm syncing my post-season music library to my phone; it still has a "safety net" of some Christmas music on it. Tomorrow I'll be un-decorating the trees and packing them away, and packing away the Nativity. :( I prepared a special playlist of Christmas music that makes me smile that I can play as I work. I may put up a tiny tabletop tree and put a string of miniature LEDs on it to brighten up the winter nights. It still seems a little unreal that we've turned the corner and are entering the second week in January.

Oh, today I got the Christmas LP set I ordered on eBay---the one graywolf was talking about. I'll have to listen to those to make sure they're okay and don't need to be sent back! ;)

Hold up. Taking down your Christmas lights on Christmas EVE? Umm that's the most Christmassy day of the year. What's the point of putting them up then? That's like getting all your party balloons and hats and 2016 new years signs and a couple of weeks in advance and then putting them all away on Dec 31.
I agree - none of them took them ALL down, but they took the lights around their roof line down just b/c the weather was so amazingly warm. Ours stayed up! And it was still amazing warm when Jim took them down this week!

I would think something definitely happened somewhere along the line that she didn't like the holidays...or that is how she was brought up! Bummer! Have a great evening!

Jim came home & laid on the floor - she smothered him so much in kisses he couldn't breathe!! :p:D
Prayers for Har. Hope the meds do what they need to do quickly so she can get off them! Poor sweet girl!

Good evening, friends!

Well said!

Here are pics of some of my collection while they were waiting to find a "home" for the next couple months!

Goodness, it looks like the Invasion of the Snowmen! They'll keep things festive until springtime rolls around!

My mom used to make snowpeople, carolers, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa from a pattern that wrapped felt and batting around soup cans. She used to sell them to friends in the neighborhood. I have a cute picture of a crowd of her "little people" on top of our stereo console (remember those??).
