Thank you!
Thanks to everyone that sent good luck wishes to my daughter, her first day went very well!
Heard we may get some snow flurries tonight. I'm patiently waiting, so far nothing!
Hope everyone has a nice night!

Glad to hear that your daughter had a good first day!!!!

Hope you see the snow soon!!!

Sometimes those tracking updates don't really seem reliable. I've had things tell me I was getting it in a week based on the tracking update and it arrives the next day.
Yes, it's not always reliable when they do update them, and sometimes they fail to update them. Hope it's on the way to her!

Morning!
Work was fine yesterday with no drama thankfully. I was uneasy because of what took place the last two sundays but it was an eventless day.

I am so sad this morning about Bowie. (((Hugs))) to anyone else heartbroken about his passing.

I'm sorry Festive. :( Last night as I was doing my grocery shopping, I was driving back home, listening to our local NPR station and they re-ran an interview they did with Bowie a few years ago. I was listening, but not realizing it was a repeat till they got to the end and the woman said, "That was the from the interview we did with Mr. Bowie four years ago. The rock world mourns his passing..." and I was shocked. I had no idea till that sentence that he had passed away. I'd been working all day writing and had not been online with the exception of Pandora streaming while I did so.

Something he said that just had me in laughing aloud in the car - the interviewer asked him, "So if you could sum up in one word rock and roll and life and your perception of it all - what would it be?"

He hemmed and hawed for a moment and then said, "Eeeeehh..... pudding. It's all pudding really."

Laughing, she asked, "What?!"

He said, "Pudding - you know. Life, all of it - it's like pudding. You can't really describe it, it's not always attractive, but in the end - it's delicious!"

Brilliant.

My uncle's surgery went pretty well-the cancer hasn't spread into the lymph nodes.
However, they had to remove more of the lung then they had originally anticipated.
They had to take the entire left lung.
They are biopsying everything they removed, hopefully that comes back good as well. If so, he will begin the recovery process.
Thank you for asking.
I'm so sorry to read this Snowflake. I do hope everything else is clear and he's able to have a good recovery.

LOL! Now that's funny!
We rarely get snow days here. Sometimes the very first snowfall if it's significant, or a rather large storm.
At my morning meetings today, some of the guys didn't come because of the cold. Really?! I'm out there, prepared for the weather, but still freezing, I didn't know that was an option ;)
ROFL When Bud was in your area, they were predicting heavy snows the night before he was to speak at the schools. He called the woman in charge and asked her if she thought they would cancel school due to the snows. She laughed for a while before she could answer and then said, "No sir, we rarely cancel school for snow. It's Wisconsin. This is normal. We just keep going."

LOL I loved that!

So, here I am still laid up with a broken fibula in the left leg. Hopefully I can try to get to work on Thursday for a couple of hours after my orthopedic appointment. This is getting old really fast. I have to say I wish they had put a cast on my foot/leg rather than the boot. The boot is flexible, which actually makes it harder to get around. It's also, (honestly, I swear) heavier than the cast I had when I broke my foot. I feel like I'm dragging a ball and chain around. Ah well, hopefully the doctor will tell me something nice like I can sleep without this nuisance on my leg. But maybe not. We'll see.
I'm so sorry! I hope you're not in pain along with the discomfort. Hoping the doctor gives you some good news! :D

That sounds about right! Lol!
Love it :)

You too HMG. Glad your daughter's first day went well!

Well I successfully dismantled everything on Sunday minus the nativity and some white lights and candles. Noah about broke my heart when he came in and craned his neck around the corner from the dining room, into the living room and then said, "The tree is gone."

His tone sounded disheartened and disappointed. I said, "Yeaaaah - I know - I'm sorry Buddy."

He shrugged and said, "It's okay - I know it has to happen. It's just - I had a really long, bad day and all I could think about was how nice it was going to be to come home and just sit on the couch with Moose (his dog), in front of the tree all lit up and just hang out. To be honest, I was kinda thinking or realizing - this will probably be my last Christmas home with you guys. Guess I didn't really want it to end, ya know?"

Seriously - would have been less painful if someone would have cut my heart out with a dull spoon. I flipped out and said I would put everything back up immediately. He laughed, hugged me and said it was fine.

Worked in bubble-mode all day Monday with the exception of grocery shopping and then today, after everyone left for work - for no reason whatsoever, the power went out. Was out for hours. When it came back on, the surge evidently fried our modem/router. I called the provider for tech support, because their new equipment does this ridiculous thing - if it reboots for any reason, it changes the network name and password. Uh - yeah - not convenient. It's only rebooted 3 times since we've had it and they have an app you can log into to reset it, but today, I logged in, reset and after it reconfigured, it rebooted and wiped out what I put in. After 5 attempts, I got annoyed, hacked the system using my computer, logged into it directly and looked at the protocols to figure out what was going on. Figured it was either server side or the power surge. Called them. Hour and a half later and frustrated tech, we're doing an equipment swap. LOL

Using my phone now tethered to my laptop to connect so I can at least get some basic work done.

In regards to weather - I'm jealous of everyone. My AC is on. I'm not kidding. LOL

I have a fake digital fire place, rolling a fire scene with the heat setting turned off and my AC is running. It's 7:30pm. I'm so ashamed. LOL

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm sorry about any games that didn't turn out as you had hoped. And congrats to any that did! :D Hope all your families are doing well this week. I'm so excited to see us nearing the 200's on the countdown! OH and yesterday when I went grocery shopping, they had Christmas baking items marked way down! I was out of everything after this past season. I got everything I need for this coming Christmas' baking season for a grand total of $2.87!! They had items that normally sell for $6 each, marked down to $0.49. Others were $0.10! It was crazy! I was in Heaven.

I love how much Christmas joy you've instilled in your kids. Noah will pass that love onto his family one day!

Computer related issues are so frustrating!!
Hope the equipment swap gets you back up and running, soon.

Great finds on the baking goods!

Hope you have a blessed night!
