Oh man! Is there anyone in your home town who could send you some? I hope you get to have some one of these years!! They look good!

I have some family back home, but kinklings just don't travel well. Some year I'll just have to plan to go back there just before the Lenten season!

Already two strikes on the day: I'm badly missing my kinklings; and my dental insurance won't cover a penny of some work that I can't put off---that'll be nearly $4K out of pocket. It's a long story, but if I could get my hands on the dentist who years and years ago botched a root canal that caused me to lose that tooth last year to infection ...

Time to think of something else and turn this bad attitude around.

I have a recipe, but it involves a yeast dough and deep-fat frying, and neither my cooking skills nor my kitchen are equipped to handle that! Gosh, I can practically smell 'em, because some of the local supermarkets would make them, and when you walked into the store on Kinkling Day ... mmmmmmmmm!! So messy because of the coat of powdered sugar, but SO yummy ...

You know I bet they do them at the German Christmas Market that comes in November. There are all sorts of foods prepared like waffles etc. I will investigate when they return for Christmas season and report back to you!

Thank you ... it's just so frustrating, especially since it's the result of someone else's bungling. But I have to just make up my mind that it's bad luck, swallow my outrage, and get it fixed.

Thank you ... it's just so frustrating, especially since it's the result of someone else's bungling. But I have to just make up my mind that it's bad luck, swallow my outrage, and get it fixed.

Ahh I see . I misunderstood as I thought they were German origin but I understand now you meant they are similar to a German donut.

Thanks, I am happy with how it turned out. I wasn't crazy about the blanket, but adding a gray blanket I think toned it down. (She won this as a game prize at my nieces bridal shower)
