Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning MMC! Happy Tuesday! I'm hoping to get caught up on here today - wish me luck!
Mom remains in the hospital. Morning report says her white blood cell counts have come down a little, but she still has pneumonia. Will be there "several more days" - she is getting SO BUMMED! Makes me sad - that's not like my Mom! We are trying to get her interested in crocheting - I started a baby afghan for her last night. Got the chain row & 1st row done (worst part) but that was a no go! I also brought a book up for her, nada! She just has no interest in anything right now. She didn't even have her tv on last night. I asked her if she wanted it on & she said "Nah!" But when she went to the bathroom, I opened her blinds & turned on her tv. It's so dark & depressing in there otherwise. We went to visit her sister for a bit last night. That maybe helped a little. My great nephews face timed her - that made her smile. "GREAT GRANDMA!!! You have band aids!!!" LOL Hopefully her spirits lift soon!! xx
We have a nasty wintery mix kind of thing going on this morning. I don't think the roads are getting bad, it's just icky looking out there! Temps are supposed to go up through the day, so it will probably be all rain before long!

Bless her heart, I'm still praying for you mom's quick recovery. It's easy to get depressed in a hospital. It might even be different if they'd let you go outside, or at least open a window. I always feel claustrophobic after a day or two in a hospital. and not in a good, CLAUStrophobic way!

Thank you, I thought so too. It was taken in Door County, WI. Adi and I hope to make it back there in the Fall.

She ate a little for me, and I sprinkled some probiotics onto her food-they must not have much of a smell or taste, because she still ate it and even drinks the water fine when I mix it in there. That helps a lot!

Good Morning, Fellow Fanatics!
(Christmas Fanatics, that is -- the best kind.)

Straight to today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 271
Days to Christmas Day: 313

And marching right along to our next Milestone, we find ourselves now INSIDE two weeks until our arrival at the 300 day Christmas Day marker and the start of a double 200's count.
(These Milestones certainly keep things moving at a nice pace, don't they!)


It did not warm up as much yesterday as predicted and we stayed below 33 degrees the entire day. That coupled with off and on again sleet made for a dreary day. Not only that, but North Carolina experienced about 1,100 auto accidents owing to the slick condtions.
Now today is supposed to see the start of a real nice warming trend with highs in the 50's and we could get possibly as high as 70 by Saturday. What a nice change that will be!
We are at 52 degrees right now after a heavy overnight storm with wind.
(I will be on branch and pine cone pick-up duty today.)

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! What was a difficult drive home yesterday turned into a (not as difficult) yet slick and slow drive in to work. I figured since it was above 40 degrees everything would be wet but I guess because the ground was frozen from the weekend there's still icy roads out there (the side ones especially). I just took my time going slow and got here ok. Of course someone flashed me with their flashes from behind because I was going 30-35MPH instead of I guess what he wanted to go which was 50 (mind you the speed limit is 40 even on a NICE day let alone on an icy one). Well I'm gonna treat myself to a big slice of buffalo chicken pizza for lunch today!
I hope you all have a decent if not better than that Tuesday!

Good morning everyone, Happy Tuesday!
We're expecting heavy rain and gusty winds today. I'm going to head out soon, I need to pick up a few things at the supermarket. I also need to stop at the post office. Hopefully I'll be back home before the rain starts. Not too much else gong on, I'll just be working on my daily chores. My husband and I were supposed see Def Leppard tonight but the show was cancelled "due to illness". Bummer. Hopefully they'll reschedule soon. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Everyone dealing with icy, snowy roads today, be safe!

I had to go out at 3:30am to let out a night crew working at our store and snow had just started to fall and roads were already slippery. I have to go out again today to run errands, not looking forward to it, especially if/when this snow turns into freezing rain.

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

What a nice day! It's supposed to be sunny and 70°F all day. I'm again feeling like I should be bass fishing instead of working. The kids are back in school after a 4 day weekend for winter break. It was hard to get them motivated this morning LOL.

Merry Tuesday all,
My youngest slept through the night with no breathing and coughing issues. I think we are finally moving forward. However , I was up with my eldest because he suddenly came down with a high temperature, headache etc last night. He will be fine, it's just another bug. Thankfully they are on school break this week.

So it goes at our house. For the last couple of months, someone is always ill!
Anyway, it will pass. Storm clouds don't hang around forever

It really helped having you guys here this past week especially. Thanks again for being there and for keeping me in prayers and thoughts Snowflake22, Holiday,Prancer, HomeakinGirl, Meceka, Bradmac, e_xander, SnowflakeMom, Ryan. You guys are a reminder of what the Christmas spirit is about.

Freezing rain on top of our snow this morning made the drive home horrible. Hope we all survived Monday..and last night was my Friday. Burning up my sick days before I lose em for the year.

Happy Tuesday MMC...I am yet again having issues my work computer. I cannot log onto my Virtual Machine, somehow it became corrupt on the server so they have to rebuild it to my machine. So frustrating..but luckily they can do it all remotely. So I am just waiting for them to call me back to tell me it is done. No plans for tonight...I heard we are supposed to get a lot of rain so we will just hang out at home and relax. Kids are back to school tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day!
