Christmas Countdown - 2016

When my dad went into the hospital when he was sick, before surgery, he was able to peg both to the top. Afterwards, it wasn't as good. He had had surgery for his pancreatic cancer and they removed most of his pancreas and part of his stomach. That pic brings back memories, mainly the good one of him shocking all the nurses by pegging both pieces to the top. Prayers for you and your family, Holiday!

When they 1st brought that thing out, it reminded me of my Dad too. He had to do that thing every time he went to the hospital, trying to prevent pneumonia! Mom really dislikes that thing!

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! Will it start or won't it? That's my question as I head out to my car this morning. Fortunately I have a self starter kit that I charged over night. Once my coworker jump started me it took 1 second and the car was fine. I'm thinking the battery is just starting to go hopefully slowly. I'm thinking of getting a new battery on Saturday if my car is starting ok this week and I can get around till then. My coworker says he's been driving around with a dying battery for a "long while." What the heck is he waiting for? lol...I just hate the idea of getting stuck somewhere. I guess we all don't realize how much we rely on our cars. Other than that my supervisor is back today (I call her our savior because she is the smartest and best person I ever worked with). And I'm gonna buy some chicken cutlet entree for lunch and save half for Wednesday so I have two good lunches at work.

Can you bring it to your mechanic to have them test the battery? Sometimes it just wears down if something was left on in the car? We have had that many times. Once it's jumped & you drive it to recharge it....we have had batteries last for years that way. My BIL (mechanic) just hooks it up to his machine & he can tell us if it's junk or if we can get lots of wear & tear out of it yet. Good luck! Have a good day!

I have had Christmas music humming to myself in my car lately...and I've been good about staying away from any Christmas shows but I am craving.

I haven't watched any Christmas movies/shows since the beginning of January however my son listen to his Polar Express CD at least once a week.

I have been really in the mood to watch some of the older Christmas movies/shows from my childhood like the ones with John Denver.

Not too much going on here today, typical day of errands and chores. My mothers birthday is in a couple of weeks so I'm going to start planning a party for her. I think I'll browse online for a gift as well. I always have a hard time coming up with ideas!

The forecast here has been upgraded a bit. Officially under a storm watch with 7 - 11 inches of heavy wet snow to start changing over to lighter snow with winds of up to 30 mph. Should be interesting.

And the first number also informs us that we are now UNDER a week off from the 300-day Christmas Day Milestone, marker number 3 on our Countdown chart.
(After that, of course, we will be into the 200's for BOTH of our counts!)


Noticeably cooler yesterday, and we had plenty of rain.
More of the same conditions today.
Tomorrow will see the rain continue, but with warmer temps.
Currently, we are at 46 soggy degrees here in central North Carolina.

I have had a bad case of Christmas on the brain this week and with the weather reminding me of a December morning and not a February morning isn't helping I feel like I should be out Christmas shopping or home listening to Christmas music and baking. I could do that. Since the battery is over 3 years though I'm not sure how much longer it will last...most people I know say their battery lasts 3-4 years. I will check though.

Good, uh, Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I hate when I miss a day here! I hope I didn't miss anything too important.

Yesterday morning was super busy, then I had to go to a doctor's appointment that I'd forgotten. Nothing to it, just a six month follow-up to my last physical. It was in nearby Statesboro, about 25 miles away. I got home at 5pm, then had to load up with the family to go back. That's where Elizabeth dances and Jacob's guitar lessons are. So I spent about 12 hours in Statesboro yesterday. Whew!

Lulu finally went to the groomer yesterday. We must have missed an appointment, because she was shaggier than usual. She hates going there, but now she's super frisky again!
