Out here in the western part of the state, it is a lot more rural so we probably have a little bit more wildlife out here. A friend from work has claimed to see a mountain lion 2 towns away from my town. That is something I would and would not like to see.

I'm with you on that. I'm afraid to meet a wild turkey face to face, much less a mountain lion.

And indeed. As of February 29th -- Leap Day -- we will open that 300-day Christmas Day Window and step through it into double-200's territory.
(We seem to be moving right along, don't we?)


Looking forward to a calmer, drier day today after yesterday's stressful vigil, as the weather service issued one tornado warning after another for our area of NC.
Homes were destroyed to the north and northwest of us with more tornadoes to the south. Fortunately, nothing like that happened near us. Just a few branches and pine cones for me to pick up in the yard today.
This morning has commenced peacefully, at 44 sunny degrees here in the capital city.

Good evening,

Wild weather going on here, heavy rain, heavy wind. I hear things getting blown around outside hitting the house. it is very unsettling, the power is flickering, and it just sounds bad out there. It is suppose to get worse before it gets better. I have my tablet set up as an alarm clock if the power does go out.
Work was a slow go today, and another scout meeting for JP tonight. Busy busy busy.

I am going to try to get some sleep, my anxiety is high with this weather going on.

Did you get through the storms without much damage?
We're okay, but judging from the branches in the yard and the twigs strewn over the local roads, we must have had a big storm overnight. I was awake briefly around 3 a.m. and saw some nasty lightning. I had to divert my commute this morning due to a couple of closed roads.

Another appointment tomorrow with another agency so will be curious to see what they say.

Got a call from the school during the appointment that my eldest fell in the playground and bumped his head. They said he is okay and been seen by a first aider. I will be picking him up soon. I've not seen the bump yet so I hope it's not too bad.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!! TGIFE! We got some snow last night - it's all white when I look outside, but blades of grass are still poking through. Still snowing though! xx Windy too! The roads had enough heat in them, the snow is all melting on the roads. I hope it snows all day! xx
Mom is home & had a good night. Took her 1st real shower in 2 weeks this morning. Can't imagine how awesome that had to feel. I'm feeling jealous of my sister who is there with her today, baking cookies, watching it snow! Wish it were me! Ah well... Thanks for all the thoughts & prayers for her! Home Health is coming this afternoon. Hope that goes well! xx

Merry Thursday MMC! The storm we had last night was crazy! I could barely sleep with that wind...all I kept thinking is that a tree was going to fall on the house. I definitely will be having an extra cup of coffee today. Just think 10 months from today will be Christmas Day!! Enjoy the day!

For the first time ever in my life, here it is a week or so out from the first of March and I still have my tree up, decorated and lit (every night). Well, I guess that is one positive of not having a wife around to keep nagging on me to take the tree down a week or 2 after Christmas every year.... Yes, I'm being sarcastic, but I really do enjoy looking at it every night...

We had some really wicked severe thunderstorms that blew thru here this evening, pretty wild to have that in February with the wind, rain and lightening and all that craziness and such. Some areas in Maryland had reports of tornados...

Just Mimi and I here are here, curled up relaxing and I was thinking of everyone, so I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I haven't forgotten you all.....

Good to see you again! I hope you come back more often.

Thanks. I wish the rain was all snow. Every station seems to be saying something a little different. The weather channel is saying just a dusting. Channel 7 is saying 1-2 inches. Accuweather says 1-3 inches, Indiana weather says 2-4 inches. Who knows? They just issued a winter weather advisory for the counties just north of me. I am hoping that extends to me as the evening goes on.

Hope you get the snow you want tonight!

How much snow did you end up with? Is it still snowing? It's still coming down here, but not sticking like I wish it would! We are in the Winter Weather Advisory here. It says until 4pm. I'm hoping it's still snowing when I get off work so I can watch from home!! xx

Good Morning MMC! Happy 10 Months until Christmas! We had a rough night last night-tornado warnings for a large part of the evening. We're safe and sound, but a community where I used to teach lost homes and had many injured, and a few people died elsewhere in the state. Pray for those communities or send them good thoughts if you get the chance! I hope everyone has a great day today!

I honestly don't know if it will do anything for me at this point but I figured it wouldn't hurt. My immune system can use a boost. We'll see what happens, hopefully it passes quickly. I probably should have started taking it when my daughter first got sick!

All OK here now that the severe weather has passed.
Damage to our north and northwest with trees down on houses.
100,000 without power in the area, but our lights just flickered a couple of times.
Plenty of rain here!

I would rather have snow instead of this dreary rain we are getting tonight. It is so dark outside tonight.

That is how I felt ALL day yesterday!!!

It is one of the last things I do at night, just a way to wind down and relax. Talking to great people.
It also reminds me of when I first joined and played the fun & games at night, most of the time it was just CM3 and I answering the questions back and forth in each fun & game thread. I miss her.

Merry Morning!
Another beautiful winter day here!! We have had 4 DRY days in a row!! Bitterly cold though with hard frost and ice. I think winter only just started for us
I have some work to do before I take my youngest to Nursery and I also need to tidy up before the appointment with the realtor this afternoon.
