Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good evening, just ran through the posts quick. Sorry I can't respond to everyone, it's been a hectic day and my head is pounding. Maggie's appointment went alright I guess. They took an X-ray and it shows she has significant tracheal collapse, nothing I didn't know. I'm heartbroken that there really isn't anything we can do and it will continue to progress. We're trying another round of antibiotics for the next few weeks. If her symptoms don't improve at all we'll discuss anti inflammatory medications. We'll see what happens.
I felt like I was getting sicker by the minute so I forced myself to go to the doctor this evening. Good thing I went, I have the flu. I already started Tamiflu, I hope it kicks in soon. I feel awful. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers for Maggie and I, I really appreciate it.
I will be keeping all of you in prayers as well <3

I'm praying for you and sweet Maggie. I hope you get feeling better soon!

Merry Friday Friends! Have a good day and hope it flies by quickly so we can start the weekend! Not too much going on...my daughter has basketball practice and her last game tomorrow. Then tomorrow my husband and I are going out to dinner. I am looking forward to that to relax for a couple of hours. View attachment 20235

I hope the last game goes well. My son has his last game tomorrow of the season, and my daughter has her last to cheer for. They always get sad at the end of the season.

I just spoke to Harlowe's vet office, and her test came back clean. Yay!!! Wonderful news.
So I should be able to start her on heart med this weekend. Her vet will call me tomorrow to discuss further. I am anxious to get them in her system, she has been less energetic and coughing much more.

Gosh, it wasn't a very good day for you, was it? I'm sorry you have the flu. I'm such a wimp when it comes to a fever. If I get to 98.7°, I have to be in the bed under 3 blankets.

It got quite nasty here, no damage, an awning looks like it was rattled around a bit, but that's it on the outside. We did get some water in the basement.

We lost a few shingles. I'll have to try my hand at carpentry now.

Well, one would think the passage of Wednesday's storms would yield quiet weather. Well, think again.
Such was not the case yesterday, as we had strong winds out of the west nearly the entire day.
(Why pick up branches and pine cones when more are continuously blowing down around you? Let's try again today.)
This day has commenced clear and calm at 37 degrees, and I can hear the yard debris calling me.

Good evening,

Like I said earlier, it was a wild night here, I did not sleep well. My anxiety was running high, listening to the wind and thunder was bad enough. I heard a transformer explode in a close by neighborhood. I finally got to sleep when the phone rang just after 1am. It was the weather warning call that I signed us up for after the tornado in 2011. I did that since there are no sirens up here, but I never thought they would call that late. Better to be safe than sorry.
So last night it was in the 60's with severe thunderstorms, tonight we are getting snow. Go figure.

Mother Nature, go home, you're drunk.

Time fore sleep.

I am so happy that we can!

She is so restless at night, up and down to cough, drink more water, needs to go out because of that, etc. I'm exhausted.
She must be, too. I need to fill her vet in with all of this today, it may change which med she starts with.

Good morning!

I am so glad the storm is over! Over 8 inches of heavy wet snow fell and there was considerable damage to the property. Lost power for over 24 hours ~ not fun when it is so cold out and there is no heat. Poor Palmer ~ she was miserable.

On the plus side, while I was sleeping, someone plowed out the driveway. I was not looking forward to shoveling so it was a lovely surprise.

Lots to do today so I bid all of you a merry day!

Poor Palmer. Sorry to hear about your power outage! A nice surprise to find your driveway plowed though! Have a good day M!

 

[Holiday]

We were at open skate at a local rink here. She wants to play for the local HS girls hockey team. She was working on her skating, stopping to be exact. She caught an edge trying to stop and looked like she got checked into the boards, only there was no one around her. We go to an orthopedic doctor this afternoon and see how bad it is. X-rays were negative for a break, though, so that's good.

Oh ouch! Glad it wasn't broken. Hope it heals quickly!! xx

Not sure how much we really ended up with. It started melting through the day even though it was coming down pretty good. We woke up with a little over an inch, bunch nothing on the roads at all.

Glad you got some snow. There are talking about a little mid next week, so I am hopeful.

I saw that too- slight chance of snow today, 61º Sunday, & then chance of snow again next week. Crazy!!!
Sounds like we had the same kind of snow yesterday! I'll take it but wish more would have stuck! Ah well! Maybe next week!
We'll beep as we pass through Troy tomorrow on our way to Dayton!
