Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good Monday Morning MMC! Into the middle of March and I see some of you had St. Patrick's Day festivities. I'm not Irish but they did have the parade locally here in town yesterday. Looks like people enjoyed it. I'm glad we're turning the clocks ahead now but boy it's darker out in the morning. Soon though it'll be getting lighter again and the light out till 7PM thing was really nice yesterday. I have another Friday off this week so again a 4 day week for me. I'm telling you that 3rd day off in a 3 day weekend really makes a difference. Why can't we all just work 4 day weeks from on now?

I'd love that.
I hope you all get through your Monday ok!

Good Morning, Fellow Believers.

Now here's something to really believe in -- the fact that as of tomorrow, we will be a full THIRD of the way back to the Christmas Season!

Days to the Season: 244
Days to Christmas Day: 286

And really, we aren't so very far away now from the 100's, are we?
(Scary thought!)

Wam again yesterday, but it was punctuated by a brief late evening storm which brought rain and cooler temperatures.
Then, overnight, a rather violent lightning storm (no damage).
Today? Should be a rebound to warmer weather with a chance of some more rain.
Right now, we show 65 degrees under cloudy skies here in central NC.

I'm not Irish either but my FIL's wife is 100% Irish so it's a big deal for her. The parade and corned beef & cabbage is a tradition every year. It's fun!

Edge, we almost went to the parade in Syracuse Saturday but the wife ended up having to work. Would have been a great day weather wise to see it.

Yeah the girl I saw who I went to school with last weekend in Church is Irish so I saw on FB she went to it. They closed off the roads etc in my town. I hope you have a great Monday HMG!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!
Hooray for Daylight Savings Time!!! :jump

We had a busy but great weekend. Jacob's band played their first paid gig Friday night, and they did an awesome job! They had a good crowd who really got into the music, and they made some good tips on top of their regular pay. They celebrated by going out to Shake-n-Steak LOL.

It was also the Rattlesnake & Wildlife Festival this weekend, so both kids worked our church booth all weekend, selling cokes. I'm glad all that's behind us. Whew!

I spent the day keeping busy with cleaning, and making our corned beef dinner. Being part Irish I must be sure to have it this time of year like most.
It is also one if the toughest days of the year for me, it is the 25th anniversary of my mother's passing, so keeping busy helps keep it off my mind, but I am emotional and irritable as I usually am on this day.
My weekend off is over, but I have a sequel to follow next weekend.

I awoke to her scratching and making noise, she was behind the chaise. The supplement isn't working as well as I had initially thought, but hopefully is helping just the same.

Mr Festive is back from Germany safe and sound. He had to be in a nearby town for work today though so we will see each other this evening. He brought me back a little snowglobe house ornament that will look so great with the Christmas village Anyway thanks for keeping him in your prayers for a safe trip.

We had a nice day with my in-laws on Sunday. The St. Patrick's Day parade was fun and the corned beef & cabbage was delicious. My girls were disappointed that they weren't able to be there this year so I'm going to make a corned beef dinner for them later in the week. This weekend flew by for me, it was busy but good. Back to my regular routine today, typical day of errands and chores. I have a ton of laundry to do, I slacked the past couple of days.
