Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning MMC!! What a yucky weather day...AGAIN! Seems like everyday is a repeat - wind, rain (&/or snow) cold, dreary.... Ahhhhh!

The wedding weekend was just awesome! Can't believe it's over. It just flew! Chicken pickin went well on Friday morning. I actually didn't have to pick much chicken b/c she put me on onion duty. I chopped 20 lbs of onions. After the 1st 10 lb my sister came over to help. Whew! It was a teary morning. HA! The wedding was beautiful! So much fun! Never a lack of entertainment. My nieces now husband played guitar & sang the song while my niece danced with her dad (my brother) & then when the groom danced with his Mom, the grooms Dad played guitar/sang. It was very cool. There was never a lack of music all night long! Good music too! Yesterday most of my family came to our house - we hung out & went through pictures we brought home from my brother/sil's house. Then we went out to eat Mexican. It was a good way to spend National Siblings Day. LOL! Fun weekend. My bro/sil go back to cape cod tonight & that makes me sad. It always goes too fast!

It's not looking very good that I will get all caught up on here today. I hope everyone is doing well & you all had a great weekend!

Here's a family pic from the wedding. Not everyone could make it, but most were there! The 3 little ones are my great nephews (brides nephews) - all 3 were in the wedding. SO CUTE!

And the message is clear -- we will reach the 200-day Season Window two weeks from the day after tomorrow.
But the day prior to that will see us complete 1/3 of our journey to Christmas Day 2016.

Well, with nice weather yesteray (albeit still a tad coolish) I was able to clear away the debris of Saturday's wind event.
Today should be nice and warm with no precipitation to mar the day.

Gray, dark, and chilly today ... and Monday, to boot. Ugh.

I kind of got into Christmas mode yesterday. I organized files for the next YuleTube, archived Christmas audio work from last year, and digitized a Christmas LP. Felt good to be getting a leg up on the coming season!

Busy as a bee!! Merry I scored a complete 1st edition set of Hardy Boys hardcover books. Most look like they never even had a page or cover opened.

Good Morning, MMC!!!! Well it looks like mother nature finally decided to have some pity on us and let the snow and sleet move on. It's still raining though but the promise of sun and 70 degree temps is in the 7 day forecast. Not to much going on here today. I think I'm going to go shopping for my niece's birthday gift and then come home and cook a ham for dinner. I need to make mom call and schedule a doctors appointment for next week too. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!

It was a very nice weekend, had fun catching up with my family!

Har is doing alright, she had an off day yesterday. Wasn't interested in taking her pills, but I finally managed her to get her to do so-that tells me she wasn't feeling that well. Not really sure why. Although I have noticed her coughing more in the past few days.
I'm hoping she is just tired, and has a much better day today.

Praying Harlowe is better today!

Whoa ... 1st edition as in 1930s? They would be fascinating, because the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mysteries have been updated and "sanitized" at various points in their history.

That takes me back ... When I was little, my parents had a small bookcase of books they had had when they were young. I read some of them. (I fell in love with "Bambi.") The books included two or three 1930s-1940s Nancy Drew mysteries; I can still see the blue covers with Nancy's silhouette. She also had a couple of Bobbsey Twins books and a Honey Bunch book, plus a couple of children's mysteries, one featuring the Blondie characters and one featuring a cartoon character called Scarlett O'Neil, who could make herself invisible by pressing a secret nerve in her wrist. There was also an edition of "Little Women" with a disclaimer that it had been printed in accordance with WWII paper restrictions. Gosh, I wish I still had those books!

Those would be nice books to have! We had some blue Nancy Drew's years ago. Not sure where they went, but I have found a few at garage sales. They are very hard to come by in good condition.

Yes, we had an awesome time there, as always!

I hope that's all it is. The cough worries me, though.
I'm sure she's bummed, too. She misses them after we leave, or they leave.
And we have moving boxes everywhere in the house, garage, etc. Piles of things we're donating, throwing, putting in rummage sales, etc. I'm sure that makes her nervous, too.

Thanks! It is going well. Quitting time. I'm dreading stopping at Moms though on my way home. My bro/sil will be leaving soon. Their time here just goes entirely too fast! I hate goodbyes!
