Christmas Countdown - 2016

It has been a nice relaxing day so far. Just a little "light" cleaning around the house, playing some video games, watching "Animaniacs" cartoon, and lounging about. My youngest (Henry) was outside playing this morning and came across two giant moths in the backyard. The were just laying on the grass. They were stuck and could not really fly away. We moved the grass a bit and got one on a stick and it flew away. The other refused to fly, so Henry kept it on a stick and moved it over to the woodpile for shelter. Good thing, because about 20 minutes later, we had a huge storm move through.

That's how we felt when we got done. I always feel so sticky (and stinky) after we get through, and take a long, cool shower. One of the best feelings of the summer!

Our basement screening room is still cool, so we may run some films this weekend to enjoy it---something fun and summery.

I'm headed for the shower now. It's been a very summery day and been doing a lot of physical activity so I sure need a good cold one. Glad you got your a/c working...it's a nice relief to know you'll have that up to get you through those hot days.

This reminded me so much of my children They love animals too. You guys are so sweet for helping and rescuing those moths. I enjoyed hearing about it

Drove 10 miles to the store for Italian sausages ..a road check both ways. Thats it for me..no more driving until Tuesday.

We are all doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors. My wife and I have started our plans for out Christmas In July weekend. Mary is now sleeping through the night, which means Trina is sleeping through the night.

Merry Saturday!
I'm off to a late start today. I was up most of the night with my sweet girl. As I suspected, she hasn't gotten rid of her infection or there's something else going on. I did call the vet today, and of course neither of her docs (primary or secondary) were there today. However, I did press for the vet on duty to look at her file. She did agree to fill her antibiotics again for half of a prescription, so we had to go pick that up. Hopefully she'll at least be comfortable for the weekend. Still needs to go out every two hours, poor girl.
Anyways, I'm finally having some breakfast & a some coffee before getting back to packing.

I'm so sorry to hear that Harlowe had such a rough night. Hopefully the antibiotics will do their thing and you will both enjoy a better night coming up. Keeping you in my thoughts.

It was so sticky and hot again today that we put in the window air conditioner right after breakfast. Now it's so c-o-o-l and comfortable! Hate the electric bills that come with it, but it's better than feeling overheated.

We have a portable air conditioner which we brought out last Wednesday. We can finally sleep again. How is your tooth doing today? I hope the pain is manageable.

What a perfect Summer day. After planting our flowers, we went shopping a bit and then went for a drive with Loki, looking at really, really rich people's houses. One can dream. But even if I were a millionaire, those houses are much too big for me.

Oh no Stacey. I am so sorry to hear this. I thought Har was doing well these days. I can't believe she has another infection. Such a relief you got the vet to take a look and give you some antibiotics. I hope she will be comfortable for the long weekend and you can have a break too!! Good thing you are off to look after her. Prayers for you guys. enjoy your time off. Thinking of you guys.

She had been doing better while she was on the antibiotics, but we finished them on Tuesday, and I don't think she had healed completely. And last night confirmed that. I pray that the antibiotics take care of it now, and that it is in fact still just the infection.
She is quite happy now to be at Grandma & Grandpa's =]

Sorry to hear she's feeling ill snow. Hopefully the meds will keep her comfortable. It's hard to watch them being ill you feel so helpless at times. Fingers crossed she's on the mend soon.

The tooth is doing VERY well, thank you for asking ... I hadn't even really thought about it much today. I hope on the next appointment it's doing well enough to seal it off and finish the work. I won't have to deal with the second one until after our vacation.

We picked up a few things at the supermarket, and I saw red, white and blue Rice Krispies. Can't wait to enjoy them during the patriotic season! I used to get RW&B M&M's this time of year, but I haven't seen them in a while. I also like the Pillsbury sugar cookies with the Flag in the center.

We made it to the nature park and it was a gorgeous day out. I will post a couple pics when I get the chance. I need to upload them from my camera onto the PC.
We just had a delicious roast chicken dinner and we are relaxing together. It has been a really lovely day and I so needed it. The outing to the park was just the thing to recharge mind and spirit.
