TGIF, my Christmas friends!

Wow, it's been such a busy week here at work that I feel a little left-out on MMC! I've tried to read posts, but I haven't been able to reply much. And the workload isn't likely to slow down for a little while. Still, it's better to have work than not!

Elizabeth left for church camp yesterday afternoon. She'll be back Sunday, but it's still...sad?...that she's not at home. That's it. She can never marry or move out. I hope.

TGIF!!!

So grateful to have my Mom here, Harlowe is enjoying the time with her so much too-Grandma's are the best!
They hit up some garage sales yesterday, and I came home to find a vintage Santa blow mold & vintage jack-o-lantern blow mold, & a vintage plastic popcorn Jack-o-lantern that I've wanted for awhile. We had one just like it growing up =]
It's been nice knowing she's at home caring for Har, and that I have someone to chat with at night.

Our house is coming along, in a last minute dash to the finish line.
But as always, there are issues and we may or may not close in time. Looking at our options right now. It's been a stressful few days-hoping for the best!!

Closings are such a stressful time. Our present house honestly took 10 hours in the lawyers office. Sellers had signed papers wrong and had moved 3 states away..and the morning of the closing they informed me they had made a mistake in closing costs and it was an additional 2500.00 they had forgot to include. I was like phhtt!!! Last house I ever buy...lol

Grrrr!!! Oh that would infuriate me, too!

Sorry you went through that.
It is stressful! And it's been an experience with the parties involved!

Can't wait to be settled in =]

I hope that you can reach your lender, and that time will somehow work in your favor. Once you're over this hump, you'll practically be settling into your new home.

I did just manage to get her cell number. She usually has someone covering for her, but not this time as she's away only until Monday. A lot can happen in a few days, though, especially with deadlines to be met. Hopefully she gets back to me early today.

They are having lots of fun together, and bonding a little extra as their time together is usually with a full house and my parents dog Jazzie, too.

The way most of you are about pumpkin spice---I'm that way about red, white, and blue in the run-up to July Fourth!

I'm also enjoying my red, white, and blue Rice Krispies! However, I haven't seen red, white, and blue M&Ms for a few years now. I also miss these:

Mom & Har are so cute together, I can tell she's very content with Grandma there to take care of her.

It's awesome to come home to a home cooked meal (that I didn't cook!). Feels like my childhood again, except it's my place and she's poured me a glass of wine too! Ha!
We plan to watch another Alfred Hitchcock episode tonight, she's the one who introduced me to him. We are both big fans, and I want her to see an episode that I saw as a teen when I was staying at my Grandma's. It was terrifying!

I agree There's nothing better than being together in person.

I will definitely post pics of the blow molds! The Santa one is similar to one I have, but you can never have too many And I've been buying some of the vintage Halloween blow molds over the past few months, and the one my Mom picked up was one I've been searching for! The ones I've seen have always been too faded, this one is in great condition-a little worn enough to give it charm, but not too much!

Part of the stress is closing before our current lease is up, and the other is losing our excellent financing rate that we locked in. And of course our lender is out of town. Trying to reach her, as this is time sensitive. Fingers crossed

You guys are still in our thoughts, as well. Bring on the positive vibes for the both of us =]

I can understand the stress. Those are some serious issues. I really hope things work out.

Thank you . I appreciate the positive vibes very much. We came pretty close last week but the buyer changed their mind. We have a viewing tomorrow so fingers crossed. We are trying not to get stressed or lose hope but it's difficult sometimes. We always knew it would be a difficult house to sell though. It's a 1930s cottage style so very small and the layout isn't to everyone's liking. Most of these houses have been remodelled to a modern layout. I imagine the future buyers/investors would want to remodel too. We really liked it's charm and character and it was the perfect starter house when it was just us and a baby but now it's just too small.


The rain hasn't been too disruptive. Not as bad as down south. Not sure what the next few days will bring.

TGIF MMC!! I am so happy Friday is here! It has been a hectic week with my daughter's 8th grade graduation and her semi-formal. Today they are having a picnic at school from 10-12 so I am going to help out with that. Then tonight I am relaxing and not leaving my house.. I think I will catch up on some laundry and maybe we will grill out. Hope you all have a great day! I will check in later with you all.
