Feel the refreshing coolness wash over you!!

Amen! I'm there with you. This might be up @MerryCarey's alley. She can hold her own during an OTR conversation! :)
Well, I grew up on $1.98 cassettes and LPs of OTR shows, and listened to the Big Broadcast on WAMU!

Comedy writers then were a breed apart. I especially enjoy Don Quinn (Fibber McGee and Molly) and Paul Rhymer (Vic and Sade---a uniquely witty, quirky show). Fred Allen had a unique turn of phrase---and one of his writers was the author of "The Caine Mutiny." Jack Benny had a good team of writers, too. I doubt anyone can write that kind of comedy anymore ... now comedy tends toward how far out on a limb you can go with adult-oriented references and gross-out humor, it seems.* Or am I just a fuddy-duddy?

*Yet I happen to love "Mrs. Brown's Boys." Go figure.

Good morning Gunny!
I think we should find a Blizzard at DQ. That'll cool us down for a little while. ;)
I once worked in an office where, if someone decided to make a DQ run for Blizzards, would yell: "BLIZZARD WARNING!" Then you grabbed your money and made your order.

(It was the only good thing about that particular job, really ...)

I don't have any video right now but I'll see what I can do.

I do have a picture I took the other day that illustrates the fact that Kimmie is equal parts cuteness and sweetness, all rolled into one lovable bundle:

My mother-in-law said just the other day that I "baby" Kimmie. She might be right! ;)
Omg so cute! And all legs too!

:D i'm surprised you think I would have one!
This is her on my neighbors lap – Gracie crawls up on her lap and just sits there like a Big furry child!

She thinks she's a lap dog, just too cute.

Yet the adult-oriented references and gross out humor seems to work with the British humor and not American. Maybe because they don't go to the extreme Americans do and it keeps it funny.

Look, someone has graduated earlier today. It means I didn't get kicked out of uni but finished it instead.

I've felt the need to share the news with you guys since you were someone who held me accountable and patiently read - or didn't read - my complaints about how complicated and sleep deprived uni life was. So, thank you for that. You are amazing! :}

You may have something. Some British comedy writers still know how to build and pace comedy scenes, and that does make a difference.
