Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

I had a busy weekend with some yard work, work work, a wedding, and recording a commercial for Bernie's store.

It wasn't a real TV commercial, though. We sells Hunt Bros. pizzas (and a lot of them), and Hunt Bros. is offering a chance to win a cool-looking "Pizza Station" complete with cooker and refrigerated assembly table. The winner has to submit the best video "commercial" showing how adding Hunt Bros. has improved their business. The director/producer is our current mayor. He is a retired art college president, so he has lots of equipment and video-editing software, and he had the experience to make it awesome. It was a lot of fun!

I hope to finally get to see Star Trek tomorrow night!!

And I hope y'all have great day!

Good morning MMC!! Another week ahead if us....they seem to be flying by! My youngest daughter is doing 4h day camp with 3 of her friends so I am sure it will keep her busy and she will be nice and tired when she gets home. I am just working today and my oldest has a soccer game tonight. Hope everyone has a blessed Monday!

Good Monday morning everyone! This will be a day for getting things taken care of: Loki has an appointment at the groomer's, getting an oil change for the car, and (hopefully) finally buying a new couch. A new rug would be nice too, we'll see.

Today is the first day of middle school for DD, she's in the sixth grade this year. You all know that I hate school, but I'm trying to have a positive attitude for her sake. Hoping and praying for a good year. The first day of school starts my countdown to Christmas, so bring it on! Four weeks from today, we'll be returning home from our annual Labor Day camping trip. That gives me something to look forward to in the short term!

Hope DD's first day at middle school goes well!

I know what you mean. School starts Friday for Elizabeth, and Monday for Jacob. It's the first time since she's been in school that Jacob won't be in the same place. She's not too upset by that, but we are! LOL

Hard to believe its 75° there..lol!! If you said 95° I wouldnt even blink a eye..lol!!

We usually go down and break the 80 degree barrier overnight but the humidity has been staying with us. Then, it rapidly warms up during the morning and we are back in the 90's by the afternoon, although today's high is predicted to be 87.
A dependable, but not so enjoyable, cycle!

We were always lucky because alot of the time we had a ocean breeze blowing on the base. I remember once during a hurricane we lost electric,had no AC and I couldnt get to the shed for the generator. Couldnt open windows because the rain was blowing from every direction and it was like 95° outside. I ended up outside in nothing but shorts in a chair drinking beer to cool down. Lol..i miss those days

My Lizzybeth starts middle school this month as well. On the 22nd to be exact. She always looks forward to the first day of school but then after that it's back to the whining about homework and not wanting to study. London starts her freshman year of college on the 29th and she's soooo excited. She actually likes school and because she's 18 she thinks she has it all figured out, lol. I'll be here with a mug of her favorite tea and a listening ear when she comes to realize that she's still very much a kid although her ages says otherwise.
