Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good Friday Morning MMC! TGIF! I'm running a little behind because of Rollins. I have to find a way to get settled back into my schedule. This morning he snuck up on me when I tried to sneak out and go running. Then I had to play with him, take him out, feed him etc. before I could do my thing. I guess it's going to be an interesting weekend. I'm ready I think.

You had your routine down pat with Nitro, you will make it work quickly with Rollins, I'm sure. Couldn't you take Rollins on your morning run? Depends on how far/how long you run of course, he might be too little still to keep up. Hope he let you go to bed at a normal hour last night. Have a good day Edge!

When Gracie was a puppy we socialized her right away. Maybe a little too much! We brought her different places, like to moms, my sisters, friends houses. We also asked friends to stop over (bribed them with food & drinks...HA) so she would be use to people coming & going. My sister would pick her up when I was at work & take her home with her. She had a lot of company her first month or so with us! We got her on a Saturday & that Sunday we took her to a friends Daytona party. She was with 40'ish people & very very spoiled! She fell asleep on their heat register. HA! We also socialized her with other dogs as well. Good luck!

Yep, they taught us in school that the most critical weeks of a puppy's life for socialization are 7 weeks-16 weeks old. Of course it continues throughout their adolescence, and even some dogs in their adult life if they weren't shown the ropes when they were pups. Good luck!

Hope all is going well with Rollins! We adopted Leo when he was a year old and he was very under socialized. He spent most of his time in a crate. We did a puppy school and he also did a few sessions of doggie daycare. He loved it and it tired him out..lol We also brought him to the park to walk a lot so he would get used to all sorts of people/noises etc...even just taking him for rides to get out and about helped him so much.

He still had some quirks but 100x better than he was before! Hope you get some rest tonight!

Yeah we didn't socialize Loki enough when he was a puppy and we see the result. I'm a very quiet person and don't like to go out too often or have too many people at home. So other than taking Loki out on walks, he didn't get to be around tons of people all the time and he's now very protective and possessive. But he's all bark and no bite.

Crazy thing is neither the news nor my weather apps had it listed, just severe storm warnings with high winds & flash flooding. The clouds were moving fast, it was eerie & beautiful at the same time.

Interesting, just found out that in our county, they go off for severe thunderstorm warnings, as well. So you have to look into it deeper yourself.

A bit of a relief yesterday as the temp and humidity dropped a shade.
It will still be less than pleasant today through the weekend, but then the weather service has promised nicer days ahead for next week. Not fall-like but more refreshing that recent weeks have been.
We commence activities here in the capital city today at 79 degrees and it looks a bit like rain.

I sat outside late last night and again early this morning and I noticed summer is slipping away quickly. Evenings have been cooler the last few days and the sun is setting earlier each night.

I think the "extreme heat" may not return this summer. Even in September if it gets "hot" like last September some days we may get to the high 80s or close to 90 but the humidity and strength of the sun still isn't the same and not as unbearable. I saw next week we will have a lot lower humidity and cooler temps. The following week I saw it looks like we'll even have cooler temps than that.

It has been quite a while since I have eaten at Subway, not from being sick, but horrible customer service. Too many times, at different restaurants.

The Subway in our town isn't too bad.
However, I saw an entire Internet slideshow once of Subway "fails."
