Good Monday Morning MMC! Happy Labor Day! This day really marks the end of summer to me (even though it may get to 90 later in the week). But this is sort of a transition day. Most kids go back to school in the next day or 2. Most people go back to work and have only a few weekdays off all the way until Thanksgiving. The weather will start to turn soon from warm/hot days to more cooler/comfortable days. I'm going to give Rollins a bath today and have a bbq. Have some errands to do also but hopefully enough time to relax on this holiday.
Have a great Labor Day everyone!
Hope the day goes your way Edge. I did see a break in the clouds here and that may bode well for outdoor grilling. I will make a quick run to the store for some corn on the cob and the remaining ingredients for a nice potato salad. Enjoy and good luck to your Jets.

Hope you enjoy your day as well! Looking forward to Thursday and the start of the NFL season!

Good morning early riser. I was kind of hoping to get a little yard work done and do some BBQ later. But, that will depend on the weather. Started raining around 1:25AM and still going on and off. Oh well, if it keeps up I suppose there is always shake and bake... lol
Here is one just for you Snowflake22View attachment 29205
Good morning, CGYager!
Happy Labor Day!
Same thing happened here, downpours in the middle of the night.
Thanks for the pic! I love it! :)
Very cute.
Have a wonderful day!

Happy Labor Day to all the MMC family. I had some trouble signing on yesterday, the old blue circle just kept spinning. It was the only site I had trouble accessing.
Today is starting out wet, but then we can use the moisture. If it continues through the day, I may get started on my coffee table display.
I was in a hurry to get the trash out early and then after the last bit was separated and placed in the proper bin it hit me...
They don't pick up on holidays! At least it is done:cool:
Here is my Labor Day salute to you all...

Will do!
I think spooky shows are in order today ;)

Good luck with the bath!
Enjoy your BBQ!

WOW! and in case you missed it... WOW! I know most people get a little upset when "Christmas" come to early, but I still love it.

Me too!

Good morning Festive and thank you for that picture. Selfridge looks like they have amazing decorations. We'll have to wait 'til late October/November for most stores to have set up their Christmas displays here.

Most places here are like that too.

One of those places on my "Christmas" bucket list is Bronners Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Wisconsin. It is said to be as large as three football fields. With rooms for the various decorating themes. Here are a couple of photos I obtained... View attachment 29207 View attachment 29208

I want to visit there too.

Those are my sentiments exactly. We are also holding onto a warm spell as weather is set to remain in the 60s till next week at least. Love it though.

My last dog would go mental after a bath. Gretchen would run wild all over the house and then roll around in my bed to dry herself. I could never catch her she would dash about like lightening!! her bath day also meant fresh bed linen day too!

Gotta enjoy the warmer September weather when we get it cause in January I'll be crying for this weather while stuck in a snowstorm and freezing.

That's pretty much what Nitro did! Going to see how Rollins reacts.

Good morning, everyone!

Happy Labour Day! It's the first full week of September and it appears that the temperature believes it is still in full summer mode. Temperatures today are to reach 29c/84f or 32c/90f with humidex. It looks like each day should be in the 90s this week, with the exception of Friday when we return to slightly above average temperatures.

Despite it being al long weekend, I did not get up to much. Most of my friends are out at their cottages and enjoying themselves. Once again, it is disappointing when your cottage is about nine hours away. If only I could bring it closer somehow...

The highlight of my weekend, actually came on Saturday night. I met some distant relatives, which was incredibly fun. About eight years ago, I connected with the wife of my dad's third cousin on Facebook. Anyway, their son is going to my alma matter, Carleton University, this fall. They all moved him into Carleton yesterday. They also invited me to dinner on Saturday. It was a pretty neat experience. We're all only third cousins (once removed, technically with his son and daughter), but there was plenty of family resemblance! For those wondering how it works, Doug is my dad's second cousin, and his grandfather and my great-grandfather were brothers. Funny how these things can work out.

Oh, I also ran a 5km race this weekend. My first in about 13 years. That was enjoyable, too.

Costco has increased its Christmas decor in the past week or so. Kim and I were in yesterday and surprised that they have more than doubled their efforts. I took some photos and will post them shortly.

I hope you all have been enjoying your Labo(u)r Day weekend! And, of course, I am sure that the first five days of this "ber" month have been treating you quite well!

Hi Brent. I thought of you this weekend when I was out hunting blossoms for the opening of that thread. :) Hope all is well! That's great about the race and spending time with family. That's cool that you've connected with distant relatives.
Hope your Labor Day is wonderful!

Getting a late start on Labor Day ... well, that's what days off are for!

I'm usually pretty low-energy, but I've been a dynamo (for me) this weekend. Did the household bookkeeping for the week; checked dates on all the cans and jars and cleared out expired items; did a big grocery shopping; put in several hours working on our YuleTube DVD; tossed together a spaghetti dinner; even did some recording for LibriVox. (That still needs editing and prep before it's ready to submit, though.) And still had time to watch some TV and relax. Having time for personal projects AND time to relax ... three-day weekends are the best! I'll miss this one when it's over.

Well, I have some projects calling me!
