Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday!! WOW did that weekend go fast. It was just Friday & now it's Tuesday. How did that happen? I hope everyone had a great weekend! What beautiful weather we had! Friday it was chilly outside & I was craving chili! 1st I smoked the ground beef, beans, & onion & then I added all the other ingredients & finished it on the stove. Oh my - delicious. The pot was licked clean. Sure wish we had some leftovers. We watched the Bucks win Saturday, then took our bicycles out on the path. Sunday we went out on the lake, we went to listen to my nephew (through marriage) & our friends band. They were awesome! We watched the sun set over the lake. Just beautiful!

Great minds think a like Holiday - I prepped chili last night for my slow cooker today. Just pulled it out of the fridge this morning and set that baby to low. When I come home I'll make some honey cornbread and white rice (we enjoy our chili over rice) and have sour cream and cheese on hand for toppings. Yum-O!

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! Back to work and back to school! Yesterday certainly felt like the end of summer to me. It was a tasty BBQ and the best news is I have leftovers for tonight. Had a lot of fun with Rollins during the long holiday weekend. I'm ready for football season to start on Thursday. It's an exciting week guys...so enjoy it!

Happy Tuesday! I'm back and work and busy as usual. Really looking forward to going camping with my dad in a couple of weeks. Should be able to start feeling that crisp fall air by then, at least I hope the mornings are like that. A hot and sticky one here already today. I hope you all had an amazing weekend.

Morning MMC friends!
Was everyone's long weekend everything they hoped it would be and more, lol. I did a whole lot of nothing but watch Netflix movies and dog sat for my neighbors who actually had plans (unlike myself). London stayed home while Lizzybeth went with daddy for the weekend. London did spend Sunday afternoon with them both but decided that she wanted to stay home most of the weekend. I was fine with that because she's so quiet that even if she's hanging out in my room with me it's like she's not there. Lizzybeth came home and then my nephew took her to play mini golf and have a quick bite to eat at Chick Fil A.

Today I started the "mummy is putting her foot down morning routine" with Lizzy. Which means when your alarm goes off it's up to you to get up and get everything you need done on your own in time for the school bus without mummy running behind you like you're in the 1st grade. She's 11 so she is more than capable of doing everything (with the exception of help with her hair - it's just so long) herself. If she's late to school once she'll have to figure out how to get there herself and I'm sure that will help remind her not to ever be late again. I've semi tried this in the past but I wavered and gave in to her crankiness in the mornings but NO MORE!!! So wish us luck.

It's going to be cloudy & windy today with scattered showers, highs in the mid 70's. This is the worst we'll be feeling from Hermine. I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. Back to my regular routine. Typical day of errands and chores for me. I'm heading out soon to do some food shopping, I'd like to get home before the rain starts. I'll pop back in later.

Good Morning All!

Day two of work for me this week already. It's going to be a busy one, but that's okay! Love that it's fall! I'll be decorating tonight-it's just gotten too busy over the last few days to get it done. Something to look forward to tonight!

The hot and humid weather is back for the week unfortunately, but nothing to do about that but turn on the AC and wait for later this month for the heat to finally break...it's never soon enough!

Back from the Beach and all is well. No damage whatsoever, not even one porch screen.
And so --- another rental season in the book.
(Well actually, we have one or two more of our regulars coming in October who couldn't make it during the summer.)


OK. A big MMC-Style "THANKS!" to our good thread citizen Made for keeping us informed in regards to the count the last couple of days!

Now, on with today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 68
Days to Christmas Day: 110

And just LOOK!
We will be SINGLE DIGITS away from the 100-day Christmas Day Window as of tomorrow.
That, of course, also means we will be single digits away from a double-double digit count sequence.
(And if you know what that cryptic line means, you are a true Countdown Thread regular!)


Quite nice weather at the coast and on the trip, with no rain.
Warmer weather is expected starting today but not really hot.
This morning has commenced at 67 sunny degrees here in our part of the MMC Nation.

Good Morning ... I took today of from work as it's the 1st day of school for my kids. I let them decide dinner for tonight and they want a ham dinner so I will be making a honey ham for dinner today.

Going to spend my morning getting a jump start on my fall deep cleaning by steam cleaning the carpets and cleaning out the heat ducts.

Sounds like you had a good weekend Holiday. FYI Friday 5PM-Tuesday 5AM is the same distance as Tuesday 5AM-Friday 5PM so in the same amount of time we'll be back to the weekend .

Not gonna lie....she's started her panic mode (has been for about a week), but she forewarned me about it. It's all part of the "fun" of planning a wedding. We are now down to the nit picky things of the wedding...mainly the decorations and seating chart. She also has to lock down the order of events and a bit more of the music. Going to get the marriage license today. We helped clean out her parents garage yesterday for the rehearsal dinner (we were going to have it at Carson Park, but her parents offered their house up. They're concerned about what to do in case of bad weather.) Like I said, nit picky things. @Jeff Westover sound familiar at all?
