Just sharing my proud moment today...first 7 miler ever! 8 a week from today!! Working up to 13.1. It's like counting down...but backwards!

Went by Crabtree for lunch today. No sign of "A Christmas To Remember", but just in case they don't appear in time, I got a couple of shots at Hallmark. They never disappoint!

Hallmark is always a welcomed start! Is there space for "A Christmas To Remember" this year?

Well, FINALLY got Bambina's swingset put together for her birthday next week! We are having a party and then she will get to come home and look in the backyard. She has been really testy because we won't let her go and play in the backyard, but she will be ecstatic next week! We got five inches of rain last night, so I spent the day putting it together in the mud.

After we have her birthday, the weekend after I will start getting Christmas lights down and checking blown bulbs and getting ready to put them up. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I just wish it would cool down! We got up to 93 today. Hot and muggy will be the norm for the next few days!

Excellent work! As a fellow distance runner, I must say that is quite the feat. A half marathon should be exciting!

@Ryan
Thinking of you watching the Buckeye -Oklahoma game outside on the big screen at the lake! Should be interesting!… Now that it's finally started!!

Thanks brent! It's my first one-I've done probably a dozen 5-8-10Ks...but this is the first half! It's November 12th-perfect early holiday start! :)
You're welcome. I did a bunch of 5-10km races in my younger days. I've just started getting back into distance running after about 12 years off... I was playing other sports instead of just running.

I haven't done a half yet. It's tempting, I just don't want to properly train for it - I run 8.35km/5.1 miles about three or four times per week, plus a 12km trail run (usually) once per week. Still, I can't bring myself to prepare for the half. You're much more dedicated than me!

Good luck in your final stages of your training. November 12th is a perfect date for a Half Marathon. The next day, you will no problems indulging in celebration of both your race and the start of the Christmas Season! So exciting!

Believe it or not most of the 14 week training is 3-5 mile runs during the week and one long run with a team on Saturdays! It's not bad at all! I had never run over a 10K before today. It's amazing what you can do with others around you...but we know that here already. :) I know you could do it!! I'm not much more dedicated at all-I just have a buddy to run with me and am running with 800 other people each Saturday in the community!

I never run on treadmills. Do you ever? It's too boring for me so I go out and run even when it's 0 degrees.

Merry Saturday, MMC!
It's a mild morning at 62° with a high only of 69°. Tomorrow, we are back up to 80°.
That harvest moon last night was beautiful! It started out cloudy, but eventually became clear. We sat out on the deck to enjoy it.
Adi & I had fun on our date night, the movie wasn't as good or as scary as I had hoped, but it was decent.
Then we headed over to BW3's for some wings. Fun time!
Today, we plan to get a few things done around the house and then grill out for dinner. We may try to fit in a bike ride, too.
What are your plans?
Wishing you a relaxing and blessed Saturday~

Glad you had a great date night. Wings are always a great part of any day.

Good Morning!

Post-Milestone, we are.
But we are also Pre-Milestone.
(It is ever thus!)

Days to the Season: 57
Days to Christmas Day: 99

Whoo, Hoo!!
Both of our counts below a hundred now --- DOUBLE-DOUBLE DIGITS.
Wowzerinos!!

Ah! At last!
Yesterday finally showed a noticeable improvement in the humidity situation, with cooler temps as well. I hope this holds for a while!
We have started off this fine weekend at 70 calm degrees here in the heart of Panther country.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Folks.
And may you have a Memorable Weekend as well!

The countdown really starts to look it's best when we hit the double-doubles.

Outstanding! I did a marathon in Vermont in October 2014. It was awesome. The venue and the people made the event memorable. Haven't done an organized run since, but I think my next one will be a half. Hope you pick a great location for yours. Keep up the great work!

That's fascinating. I think I could actually do that training regiment. Perhaps I will look into doing a Half Marathon next May. It's great that you have all that support around your community. Having such support definitely makes it much more fun and keeps you constantly in check.

I love unexpected Christmas encounters. I had two today. I was shooting a living history event, and a kid playing a fife started performing Jingle Bells. Later in the day, I was watching Death in Paradise from the BBC on PBS, and they'd rounded out the hour with a little Christmas documentary. Niiiiiice....
