Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning all my Christmas loving friends !

don't know if I mentioned this or not so if I did just chalk this up to early morning brain fog. Anyway, we are going with Merry's suggestion of getting a smaller tree and placing it on our cedar chest. So the fun begins as we search for one. Neither Costco or Walmart had any out yet so am doing some looking online. Going to donate our well loved tree to someone who needs a nice tree this year.

Good Monday morning MMC! I have the day off and have errands to run and some chores to do around the house. It's still humid and warm enough that we had to turn on the AC last night. Loki got a little cold I think and was cuddling up to us all night. Have the best Monday everyone!

Your description of how little Harlowe is behaving is so sad. I wish dogs could tell us what is bothering them. I really, really hope a vet is available today. Keeping both of you in my thoughts.

And that next marker, due before the week is out?
Well, it's the 3/4 point to Christmas Day 2016, and it's only SIX days off.
(Now that's just plain hard to believe!)


The humidity was back up again yesterday and it was not as comfortable as I had hoped it would be.
Rain is possible for the next couple of days and we stand at 76 rather cloudy degrees here currently in the capital city.

Well, before I get myself going for the day, I was seeing all those "adult" coloring books at Wal-Mart. Though some took me back to the "Head Shop" days of the late sixties, I decided to present a coloring page alternative, so here goes...

It's Monday MMC!!! And a good Monday Morning to ya!

I trust everyone had a great weekend. I enjoyed mine - productive and relaxing. Had brunch with a friend from church on Saturday and that was nice. She's been having a rough go with her new job but I think with some more time she'll get into the swing of things and she'll be fine. It can be so hard adjusting to new surroundings that even if what you do (she's a physical therapist) doesn't change certainly each practice/office operates differently and you have to learn how they do things. She wanted to quit our choir because as choir members we're expected to be at all church services and rehearsals to be a current member and she has been hit or miss at Wednesday & Sunday evening services. So I convinced her to take a step back and rejoin when she was ready.

Sunday was spent in church for most of the day and evening. After evening service we had a potluck farewell get together for a family who's moving to upstate NY. I made a pumpkin cheesecake which was a hit, so I'm glad about that. Once we got home London and I watched the Emmy's. We had a good laugh about how so many of the TV shows that are on either we didn't realize they were still actually on the air or that we've never seen. So when a show we were familiar with was nominated we cheered them on. Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Blackish, Modern Family and such. We of course had lots to say about what everybody was wearing and who looked great and who looked well....

On Wednesday I was picked to sing in a small ensemble at church this coming Sunday and I was so giddy you could have told me I won a million dollars and I couldn't have cared less. It's my first time being apart of one of the small ensembles and I always wonder what you had to do or who you had to "know" in the choir to get picked. Well, I was finally chosen and I think the song we're singing will showcase my abilities quite well. And it's on my birthday nonetheless!!! It's like my personal gift from above. I'll have to let you guys know how it goes.

Looks like I will be the first on Monday to say Good Morning. Such a crazy Sunday for me. Got off and decided to get "just a few" hours of sleep and then get up and enjoy the day. Then what? Next thing I knew it was just after 8PM. But I'm up now and will stay this way for awhile, so I can actually get things done tomorrow.
May take a short nap around 5 or 6AM.
Looks like the very low 80's may come back for a day of two, but the long range has us back in the mid 60's by the weekend.
I want to get the lawn done this morning and have a couple of errands to run, but then I'll try to get everything done prior to MNF.
I will probably still be here when you guys start to wake up, so let me leave you know with this image...

Very autumnal morning. Misty,chilly and very dull. I think we had the last of our warm weather last week. We are in the 50s this morning with the rest of the week staying there in the day and lower during the night.

Our home is still listed for sale but the market is at a stand still at the moment. The stress was too much so we have decided to put it at the back of our minds till the new year. If it happens then great but for now we are not stressing or even thinking about it. We will most likely reduce in the new year in hopes of pushing things forward. It all became too much for me at one point if I am being honest. Would have loved to be in a new (bigger) place this Christmas but there's always next Christmas right

[Holiday]

I picked up the albums from the photo place and I am so happy (and relieved) with the result. And they came in plain white boxes too, so all I have to do is add a beautiful ribbon and it makes a perfect gift. Buffet is ordered, helium tank is rented, I'll be placing the order for the cakes at Costco this afternoon. All that's left is to is find the right balloons and buy plates/forks and drinks.

So glad they turned out so perfectly!! I'm sure everyone loved them! Hope it all went well!! xx
