Christmas Countdown - 2016

Evening everyone,

Following our 9 o clock appointment with the Dr this morning my son was sent to hospital. We were there all day and he has had several tests/blood work done.He has been so brave. Finally diagnosed with Mesenteric adenitis which mimics symptoms of appendicitis. He is in a lot of pain and discomfort my poor boy. We've been in hospital all day. So glad they let us come home. He is resting now but it may be a long night again ahead.

Talk about a hectic week. I never saw this coming on top of everything else!!!

Hope everyone is well. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes, we appreciate it.

And it looks like we have just sailed into another port-of-call on our trip!
Yes, Folks. We have arrived --- at the NINETY PERCENT/HOME STRETCH marker to the Season.
(And you know that we will be at a quick downhill pace from here on to the start of Christmas Season 2016, November 13!)

Been watching Hurricane Matthew's relentless passage close to the east coast of Florida for most of the day yesterday and this morning.
(We have relatives down there who wisely evacuated!)
The core of the storm stayed offshore and the winds are down a bit. The Weather Channel indicates much less of an impact than predicted. Good News!
We just have light rain here this morning, which is supposed to continue tomorrow.
Right now, we show 69 degrees and our rain guage shows .2 inch fell last night.

Good Friday Morning MMC! TGIF! After having to work last Saturday this Friday feels extra special being back to normal weekends off. It's a beautiful morning but a bit chilly. Well it's October after all. It still surprises me how suddenly the heat/humidity shut off a few weeks ago and never came back. Going to be a nice mild day though with temps in the mid 70s. Next week looks about 10 degrees cooler! Looking forward to an awesome Autumn weekend.

Good Friday morning! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift today but will be leaving soon. They installed new counters in our office yesterday when I had off and it's apprently a real mess right now, so I want to get in there and re-organize things before actually working.

This morning I wrapped an empty box in Christmas paper, to use to gather donations at work for the organization that helps families in need have a nice Christmas. The box cover has a bow with jingle bells. Sure puts me in the Christmas spirit.

My kitty is declining quickly Kidney failure unfortunately. I'm going home to my parents' house to say goodbye Sunday. He's 17 years old! I will miss him sooooo much. Think of my family. I'm pretty sad.

Everything else is going okay. I'm happy for the years I've had with my kitty and how much joy he's brought to our family!

Hope everyone is doing well!! I really am glad for MMC community!

It has been a long day here, I work tomorrow, but have Saturday off. I work Sunday and Monday, and in Massachusetts both days are time and a half for me. It is good with the Disney trip upcoming in a few months we need it.
Everyone affected by the reach of Hurricane Matthew are in my thoughts, I have quite a bit of family down in Florida.

I am heading to bed, my eyelids are quite heavy.

They said it can be a result of a virul infection. He was actually down with a virus last week so this does make sense.

Mr F did some acupressure on him to help him with the pain last night and it must have helped somewhat because he slept much better and was less agitated.

I appreciate the hugs and prayers.

TGIF MMC....we made it through another week! I took Monday off and Veterans Day off. I still have another 4 1/2 days to take off so I am going to take some more long weekends. Just working today and my daughter has a soccer game at 4:15. We don't have too much else planned for the weekend. I think we may get together with my SIL and family for dinner one day. Happy friday! I am subbing this afternoon for a little bit and then I will try to get some of Carolina's birthday gifts. Tonight we are celebrating my cousins birthday.

TGIF MMC....we made it through another week! I took Monday off and Veterans Day off. I still have another 4 1/2 days to take off so I am going to take some more long weekends. Just working today and my daughter has a soccer game at 4:15. We don't have too much else planned for the weekend. I think we may get together with my SIL and family for dinner one day. It's pretty calm right now, and the sun even peeked out yesterday afternoon. But they (yes, the ubiquitous "they" LOL) are saying the rain should start getting heavy in a few hours, and the wind should be getting up there around 2pm. We'll see. I've put away all the patio furniture and I'll turn off the pool at lunch. It'll be full of leaves for sure!

You should see all the traffic from cars leaving Savannah & Tybee Island heading west! We're about 60 miles west of Savannah, and all the hotels from here to Augusta are full. And, of course, gas prices jumped 25¢ per gallon. LOL

Anyway, we should be fine. I hope all you in close proximity to the storm are safe! And I hope y'all have a great day!

Happily, our office is closed Monday for Columbus Day, so I'll have a lovely 3-day weekend. Cross you fingers ... maybe I'll get out a little early today.

Last year about this time, on a Friday, one of my co-workers brought in a huge batch of homemade meatballs and the fixings for meatball subs at lunchtime. It was such a huge success, they're having the second annual "Fall Ball" today. I missed the first one because Mr. and I were out of town. So I'm looking forward to seeing if those meatballs are all they're cracked up to be!

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday!!!! What a beautiful day!! Lots of sunshine & warm temps this morning! We need to enjoy today to the fullest b/c tomorrow the high is 65! Not that 65 is cold, but compared to 81, it's a big change!

I took Gracie to her appointment today. She is such a trooper. They did the test with no problems from her - she barely flinched! I had them look at her ears & they put a week long slow release antibiotic in them. They were just a little red/irritated. So she's back home & crazy as ever - waiting for her mama to get home from work so she can go see her friends at the lake!!

We went to see Sully last night - what an excellent movie!! We all loved it!

Everyone, have a fantastic FRIDAY!!! I'm looking forward to the 3 day weekend...WOOP!

The vet said the test results will take 3-4 days to get back from the lab, & they will be sent to her specialist in Dayton...who just had knee surgery, so I'm guessing it will be at least a week or so?

Thanks Festive! All went well, I just came into work a little late!! Mom was still sleeping when I left, which is unusual - so after Gracie's appointment I stopped at her house on her way to work to check on her ~ all is good!
