Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning all my Christmas loving friends !

Saturday already. The thanksgiving weekend has started. I have to work until 4:15 today and know it will be crazy in the store as everyone prepares for family get together's. We get 2 feasts this year, one on Sunday and one on Monday.
yum !!!

It has been almost summer like temps all last week , so nice. I see it rained last night so it has cooled to more fall like weather again. The leaves are becoming more colourful everyday and it looks beautiful. Will post some pictures later.

New Saturday plans:
Just checked with my Better Half and she is still a bit under the weather. I agree that wandering around the zoo with temps in the mid-50's to mid-60's with a touch of a cold, is not the best idea. Of course she said I could go and join the other volunteers without her, but I'm sure my time would be better spent here. The Zoo is not going anywhere.
So... a little work, catching up on some recorded TV shows that we both like and a nice dinner sounds like the new plans for Saturday.
By the way, anybody old enough to remember this Saturday morning Line-up?

Good Saturday Morning MMC! Another awesome October weekend. It's beautiful out again. I feel like it's been cooler than the long-range forecasters were saying it would be a month ago. But it's still nice out and feels like fall which is good since it is. Hope everyone is safe from that hurricane. Scary stuff. Having my donuts with Rollins and then heading out to do a bunch of errands. I'm glad it's Saturday!

Good Morning, Home Stretchers!

Indeed.
In case you were not here yesterday morning, we entered the HOME STRETCH NINETY PERCENT MARKER to Christmas Season 2016, which means it is all downhill from here to the start of the Season with NO more Milestones standing between us and the Season commencement on Nov 13!

Days to the Season: 36 (The 1 month mark - just FIVE days off!)
Days to Christmas Day: 78 (Eleven weeks from tomorrow!)


The hurricane continues its relentless march up the east coast. The National Hurricane Center now expects it to turn out to the east a bit later than originally predicted, which will take it closer to our cottage. Tropical storm warnings have been issued for most of the North Carolina coast.
(We will keep a watchful eye. At least it has weakened to a Category 1 storm.)
Rain is on tap for all day today and possibly tomorrow owing to the close proximity of the storm.
We have 69 degrees here right now with rain falling as I type.


Tell you what, though. I plan to have a Sensational Saturday, regardless of the weather.

Good morning .. Sitting here enjoying the breeze come in from the kitchen window while drinking my coffee. Getting ready to make the sugar cookie dough so it can chill in the frig for a few hours. Also going to make pizza dough for homemade pizza and pepperoni bread dinner tonight.

Well need to get my shopping list together so I can go to the grocery store in a bit.

Good morning Edge. It is a beautiful day here as well. Still on the cool side @ 36 degrees, up should warm up into the low 60's. Enjoy your donuts, coffee and this long weekend. What about tomorrow?

It is a good morning here K.G. I trust your Saturday afternoon is going well. So when does your Autumn usually hit? Ours has come and the temps will go up and down pretty much through November (but there have been exceptions). Enjoy the weekend.

Morning Crown. Great attitude. My plans have altered some, but the bright side is always there if you take a moment to check it out (even if it does require occasional searching).

Okay fellow Christmas clan members. Time for me to get my backside moving. Still only 36 degrees, but there are some things I can do inside until it gets warm enough to spray paint the Halloween arch. I'll check back in later. Hope everyone is in good health and spirits.
