Enjoy your visit to yankee candle.
Let us know what you bought!
We bought the scents, Autumn in the Park, Apple Cider, Red Apple Wreath, Home for the Holidays, MacIntosh, and White Christmas. It is our fall visit so we focus on fall/Christmas scents. MacIntosh and White Christmas are my 2 favorites.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Kim, her mom, sister, SIL, and two best friends are off searching for her wedding dress. I actually received a text a few minutes ago and apparently she has already found her dress. Isn't that amazing? Apparently, now, I just have to wait about 340 days to see it.

As for me, I am hanging out at Kim's mom's house. I was hoping it would be nice day so that I could go out for a nice long run. Instead, it's been raining all day, and I am stuck inside. Hopefully it stops soon... I really need to do some exercise. At least I am currently enjoying my revisitation of Season 6 of Scrubs for about the 10th time. I must say, it still hasn't lost its hilarity or emotion. Every time I watch, it's just like the first time. Easily my favourite show of all-time.

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!

Just remember, if she shows you pictures of wedding dresses from magazines. Do not answer with your opinion if you like it or not. It's a trap. My wife tried constantly to find my opinion, but I told her if I answer wrongly and it is her dress, she would never let me forget it. :)

My girlfriend & I came across this recipe a few years back, and we have been enjoying it ever since.

Apple Cider Bread or Muffins

Yield: 2 loaves or 18 muffins
Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans or 18 muffin cups. Cream butter and 1-1/4 cups of the sugar in a large bowl. Add the eggs and cream thoroughly. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1-1/2 teaspoons of the cinnamon and add to the egg mixture, alternating with the apple cider. Stir in chopped apples. Divide the batter between the loaf pans or pour into the muffin cups. Combine the remaining sugar with the remaining teaspoon of cinnamon in a small bowl, and sprinkle it over the batter. Bake for 50 to 70 minutes for bread, or for 30 to 40 minutes for muffins, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Thanks for sharing, it looks good. We will be trying this one.

Good evening,

We had a great day at Yankee Candle Village, so much stuff to see and do. It truly is one of my favorite places to go, it is the largest Christmas store around. Just being immersed in all that Christmas is so relaxing to me. We ended up stopping at the mall on the way home, I picked up the 3rd in the series of the Nifty fifties retro Hallmark ornament. I love that series, so far I have all 3.
Work will be beckoning in the morning, and I am trying to stay up for SNL, but I think sleep will win out.

Goodnight, everyone

I bet those smell gorgeous!!

I bought a scented candle last week called Halloween. Love candles this time of year. Enjoy yours!

Merry morning MMC! My sweet kitty should pass any time now. Vet saw him yesterday and said he probably would go this weekend. I got to video chat with my family so I could say goodbye to him. He raised his paw when I said hi. :) We will miss him so much. He has been a wonderful cat!

I'm working this AM which is why I can't be home with him. Listening to some quiet Christmas music seems to be helping my mood a bit. I hope everyone has a lovely day today! The rain is stopping after about 48 hours straight of rain. No flooding here though. 11 weeks to the big day from today! Looking forward to enjoying it with you. :) Take care friends.

DYHWIH your story about the video chat both made me smile and cry. Sending hugs your way.

The wind has really picked up. Heavy rain and street flooding occurring. Flash flood and high wind warnings out for all of the eastern half of NC.
Our power is still on for now but branches down in the yard.
We are in for a rough next few hours until this system lifts off to the east!
I really hope the storm has passed now and that everyone in your area is safe and sound.

Good Morning, Comrades in Christmas Chasing!

Indeed, now that we have chased down all of the Milestones that separated us from Christmas Season 2016, we can set our sights on the main targets.

And now that they are in the crosshairs, we need to get our range:
Days to the Season: 35 (FIVE WEEKS FROM TODAY!)
Days to Christmas Day: 77 (Eleven weeks from today!)

Ah. The Home Stretch.
How exhilarating!
This is the really fun part of the count. The build up to the evening of November 12, when many of us meet here in real time to count down the final hours and minutes to the beginning of the Season.

But before that, we have our SPECIAL POST SERIES which begins 5 days before the season (November 8). During that period, various of our members post special daily messages during the lead-up to November 13.
Christmasstar has already requested a day (no exact one specified) and Binger traditionally takes day 4 before the Season.
That leaves three more spots for any interested party! Just let me know at your leisure. Plenty of time to decide.

Well, Hurricane Matthew moved on up to the Carolinas yesterday and played a nasty cat-and-mouse game with lots of wind and copious amounts of rain which caused extensive flooding in eastern NC. Fortunately, the system finally moved away from the coast overnight.
It is blessedly calm here this morning under clear skies, but with lots of yard debris to clean up (something I hope to complete before the afternoon NFL games!).
Currently, we show a suddenly-chilly 55 degrees on our back door thermometer.

Have a Super Sunday, Everyone!

I know what you're going through and I hope you feel glad you got to talk to him yesterday.
