Christmas Countdown - 2016

A gray, chilly, wet Saturday here, but a good one. Our town has early voting this year, so we went down to Town Hall at 9 a.m. We only waited in line a short time, and were out of there in 15 minutes with our "I Voted" stickers. So much easier than finding a parking space at our usual polling place and being late for work!

No big plans for the day. Mr. will probably turn on the World Series game this evening. The Red Sox aren't in it (of course), but there are several former Sox, and he's enjoying watching the games. I can take 'em or leave 'em ... so I may be checking on the Chat this evening!

My day off yesterday was so-so. I felt kinda under the weather, not "up" enough to do any DJ recording. But I picked at a couple of other projects and got a few things done.

Trying to decide whether to sync to my all-Christmas music library today, or wait for Halloween to actually pass ... it's a toss-up! Still hard to believe that on Tuesday, Halloween is over and November begins.

Hope you feel better today. It's hard to comprehend how November starts on Tuesday. It's exciting but scary (pardon the Halloween reference).

I'm very sorry that you are struggling with migraines HMG. I hope your neurologist can find the right meds for you and you get some relief. You are super organized, having already done your Thanksgiving menu. I'm sure it helps take some of the pressure off of the big day. Have a great weekend coming up, hopefully migraine-free.

Thank you so much Martine, I hope so too. And yes, being organized helps. I'm hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas Day as well. I picked up a few things at the supermarket this morning while I was doing my regular food shopping. Feels good to start crossing items off of my list!

Sounds like a good day ahead HMG. When decorating for Halloween, one can never have enough jack-o-lanterns I say. What show have you started to get into? Have a great one!

My husband and I started watching a show called This is Us, it just premiered a few weeks ago. I think they've only showed about 5 episodes so far. We watched two last night, we'll watch the rest tonight and be up to date. I'm really enjoying this one.

A very good morning to you HMG. Today we have a chance for PM showers, but I doubt that will diminish the festivities at the zoo. Only five hours of it tonight, so I should be back at a decent hour. Last night I called home and both the wife and daughter wanted something different for dinner. So what's a guy to do? Stopped by Arby's and Taco Bell. At least they were on the same street... lol

Good Morning, Folks!

Really closing in now on the start of our "Holiday String", commencing with Halloween on Monday and continuing right on through New Year's Day.
(It truly is "the hap-happiest season of all"!)

Checking on our progress:
Days to Halloween: 2 (DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
Days to the Season: 15 (Two weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 57 (Eight weeks from tomorrow!)
(The excitement is becoming palpable!)


Quite pleasant here yesterday, with highs in the low 70's and no precipitation of any kind.
Should be real nice right on through the weekend and possibly through the entirety of next week.
(Now wouldn't that be nice!!)
It is currently 52 degrees here at our abode.


Our very own Wizard of Edge ("the great and powerful") will be stepping in to handle count duties tomorrow morning, as the Crowns head to the coast to winterize the cottage after another successful (and hurricane damage free!) rental season.

Happy Halloween weekend! Both mike and I are working today.He has mandatory overtime until 11 pm tonight. Carolina will go to my cousins and my parents will pick her up on their way home from a wedding. I'm sure it will be very busy at work because everyone will be getting last min candy and decor hopefully

Good evening ~
I'm getting ready to turn in, just wanted to read through the countdown quick. Sorry I haven't been posting too much the past few weeks, I've really been struggling with my migraines and it's just wearing me down. The preventative meds that I started taking weren't agreeing with me so I had to wean off of them. Back to square one. I'll be seeing my neurologist in a couple of weeks, hopefully we'll find something that helps. Anyway, enough of that. Can't believe Halloween is so close, I'm super excited. And I finally finished my menu plan for Thanksgiving, I even wrote out a grocery list. I'll start buying non perishable items a little at a time. So much to look forward to. I hope everyone had a nice day and has a great weekend ahead!
