Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning MMC! Happy FRIDAY!! Woop!

Well, things are really getting extra exciting now. I sent a message to my sisters last night about Thanksgiving & guess who's hosting now! Yep! ME! Yikes! LOL! They all offered, but 1 sis had Christmas & Easter last year, another had Thanksgiving last year, and the other has a nice house, but with no basement it just isn't big enough for all of us if the weather isn't fit to be outside. My nephew gets married Dec. 10th so my bro/sil have enough on their plate - they don't need to be hosting Thanksgiving too (didn't even ask them!) So me it is! I love to host, but I have to admit I'm a little sad I won't be able to put up my big tree until after turkey day! I did set up the little tree in the basement last night. I need to get some new lights for it. I will probably put up the tree in the sunroom before Thanksgiving also. I better get cleaning!

What are everybody's weekend plans? We don't have much going on. I'm staying with Mom tonight. As of last night we still have water at the lake, so if it's still on tomorrow we may go out there. Buckeyes play at 8:00 tomorrow night - we won't miss that! I would like to check out the Christmas Shop at the hardware store, since I missed the Christmas open house/ladies night last Sunday! That's about it.

Today is much cooler with a high of 57 predicted - but then we are back up into the 60's (almost 70) starting tomorrow through next week!

Yay for hosting Thanksgiving, that's so exciting! I hold off on the Christmas decorations because I host Thanksgiving every year. Otherwise I would definitely go straight to all Christmas after Halloween. Plus I host Christmas Day as well, so the family gets to see my house decorated for Christmas too. I love my Autumn decor but I can't wait to switch over, nothing beats the glow of those Christmas trees.
No big plans this weekend, should be a relaxing one. Hope you have a nice day and a wonderful weekend ahead!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

Tonight is Jacob's event, The University Singers. I'll have to leave early this afternoon to get there in time. I also have to leave in a few minutes to attend a funeral. A very sweet, dear lady in our church passed away. At church, she always hugged me and kissed me on the cheek so hard that it made her glasses go crooked. Every time! I'll miss Mrs. Mamie.

I'll be back after lunch. I hope y'all have a great day!

[Holiday]

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!
This weekend is a big sporting event weekend for the high school where I teach. The football went undefeated (10-0) this season and plays the first round playoff game Saturday evening. The Girls Cross Country Team is headed to state for the 2nd year in a row, having also just won regionals for the first time in school history last weekend. Then, the Quiz Team(which I coach) has our first tournament Saturday.
Plus, here at home, I think Christmas decorations will go up inside! It will be a busy weekend, but should be lots of fun!

Good evening,

Day off went well, got a lot done, including de-Halloweening the house. I am now ready to start decorating the house for Christmas. I am planning to have the trees up and done on November 10. I am just ready for Christmas decorations and joy.
We got a new car tonight, I will be picking it up tomorrow. It is a brand new 2017 Chevy Equinox. We are very happy, the price was right, and we love the Equinox, we did try to go for the Traverse first but it was out of our price range. The downside was we spent 4 hours at the dealership tonight .
My sinuses are killing me tonight, so bedtime is calling.

Thanks for the prayers for Gracie! She was pretty mellow this morning. But she ate most of her food & took all her meds like a champ. Jim is on vaca today so once she realized he was home with her to stay (for awhile anyway) I'm sure she perked up!

Was tentatively scheduled to go to the Mennonite store with my cousin, but I have a lot of projects to finish/work on, so I am going to pass on this trip. Going to be a busy day, but a merry one!

It's the big day! The grand switch on of the Christmas lights will officially open the Christmas season here. I am not sure which celebrity will flick the switch but there will be fireworks and guest performances.

Good Friday morning! Last day before I am on vacation! Stayed late yesterday to try and get as much done. I still have a long list to get through today but I'm not as stressed as I was at the beginning of this week. Hope everyone is doing well and wishing you all a great day!

Going to be a nice few days here weather wise. Also going to be a busy couple of days and fun. Our TOPS rally is Saturday and I get to MC the day. About 100 people will be attending with guest speakers and lots of awards. Always great to see everyone for the day.

Good Friday Morning MMC! TGIF! Hope you are all ready for a great weekend ahead. Looks like we will have 50s and sunshine by day and 30s at night. Typical November type weather. I see a lot of the country is warmer than average and that will continue the next week. At least we get an extra hour this weekend with turning the clocks back. And it will be "less dark" in the morning but it will be dark very early in the evenings now. Going to order pizza for dinner. Not much is better than a Friday night with pizza.

I wish my local town did more actually! This is in the main city. I live in a small town just outside. Only about a 15minute drive away though.

Its going to be a nice day, sunny with highs near 60 degrees. I'm just having a cup of coffee and working on a menu plan and grocery list. Not too much going on here today. I'm having lunch with my mother later, we're going out for Chinese food. Back home afterward to work on my daily chores. I'm making chicken pot pies for dinner. Thanks for posting the recipe last week Holiday, it reminded me that I haven't made them in quite some time. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!
