Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning, everyone!

I am at Russell again this morning. I was here yesterday, too, but real busy and could not find time to post. It's a little wet this morning in Ottawa. Temperatures are comfortable around 6c/45f, and should reach about 11c/51f sometime today. We're still not doing great for mid-November! I'll enjoy it while it lasts. After this weekend, apparently, we are going down around the freezing mark and the cold Christmas Season weather looks to be staying.

Yesterday was a decent day at school. Today should be much of the same. I'm not yet booked for tomorrow. Hopefully that will change! Last night was a decently relaxing evening. Kim and I watched some TV by the lights of our Christmas Tree. Simon certainly loves having his Tree back. I think he has brought every toy of his under the tree to play. It seems like he has a different one every time... I think he's showing off his tree to them.

Not a whole lot is happening today after teaching. Kim is going to her gym, I will be going to mine. Otherwise, I don't think we have much planned for tonight. Our TV shows are on, so there will not be a Christmas movie, perhaps we'll get to that tomorrow night!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone! Looking forward to seeing everyone at the first 'Pines Day of the Season. Red and Green fired twinkies should be delicious. I am so excited for Christmas at the 'Pines, but I know that Carl has to hold back a little bit as we can't forget next week's big Thanksgiving celebration.

Last night I was finally able to make it to our local hardware store. This is the store that always has the Christmas Open House/Ladies night (which I missed ) Anyway, I walked in the back door to see this - the picture doesn't do it justice. It was just breath taking.... especially considering this is a HARDWARE store! LOL! (and a good one at that!)

Good Wednesday morning! I only have 5 days of vacation left and thoughts about work are slowly creeping in (sigh). I'm feeling restless too, like I want to do 50 different things and nothing at the same time. Hoping to do some more de-cluttering today, that always feels good. Hope you will all have a fantastic day!

FIVE days is a WHOLE work week!! STOP thinking work & enjoy FIVE WHOLE DAYS!!! (I know that can be hard - it goes so fast!!) I hope you have the best 5 days ahead of your whole vacation!!!

We are possibly taking Carolina to see Santa at Damblys a garden center near us. They have the best Santa. It cost $10 but we get to take as many pictures as we want and he always has us take a family photo with him too. It's much better than the mall Santa's that cost $40.

yesterday was a rough day,my friends brother was suddenly taken from them. Such a shock. Please pray for the family.

I believe the weather is going to go from 1 extreme to the next! They are now predicting a high of 70 on Friday & a high of 41 Saturday. Crazy!

Good Pinesday morning, Christmas friends!

Monday evening I repaired Mrs. Hilda's clothes dryer. The drum belt broke, and you have to almost completely disassemble the machine to replace it, but I got it done. She cooked supper as a thank you! Then we went to mama's for supper last night. I just love chicken & dumplings! I think my family is trying to fatten me up. I'm going for a salad at lunch!

Its a beautiful sunny day, we're going to have highs near 60 degrees. Just took Maggie for a short walk. I don't think she's feeling well today. She got sick this morning so I have to keep an extra close eye on her. Typical day here, I'll just be working on some chores around the house. We picked the new car up last night, I really need get used to the new features. I guess I'll spend a few minutes out there today so I can check it all out. My mother is stopping by later this afternoon for a visit, I'm going to bake brownies for her. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Yesterday morning when we watched my brother take off in his plane it was high 30's - low 40's...I was chilled ALL day after that. Not ready! LOL

We're going to get a wintry mix ending in flurries, but up in Hibbing, and in the western parts of the state, they're in for nine inches of snow. Talk about not - ready - for - it - itis!

It truly is hard to believe how close we are now!! I think I'll wait until the beginning of next week to send another message. My sister in laws mom is at the Cleveland Clinic today for some further testing - I believe their family is unsure of their plans b/c of her mom. I will wait to see what they find out there & then send another reminder! Hopefully all turns out VERY well there!! xx

The moon has been amazing. I looked out the window last night & thought the light was on in our convertible...it was a reflection of the moon above. Beautiful!
