Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a difficult night last night. I got a call that a great aunt of mine had fallen very ill and was taken to the hospital. She passed away a short time later. As I was talking with mom about that, I got another call that a high school classmate had died. My goodness. Bless their hearts, they were both good people. My aunt was the sweetest lady in the world.

Tonight, we're supposed to take Elizabeth out for her birthday. We told here we could go anywhere she wanted to go. She chose to go to a restaurant near the University so Jacob could join us, since he has to stay late for a performance. She's such a good girl!

I hope y'all have a great day!:)
Such sad passings. Sending all my best to your family. You have great children there, showing kindness to one another. Enjoy your day!

It is tough sometimes to remember that they are still "babies." I was taking my clothes out of the dryer and Eli was in the dog bed, that was in the clothes basket, kneading it and "nursing" it. It was so cute, yet such a reminder how young the kittens still are.
Mature adult cats also "knead." My parents kept a folded blanket across the foot of their bed when I was little, and our cat LOVED to knead on that.

Good morning, everyone!

I hope everyone had a great time last night at the 'Pines. I couldn't stop eating those red and green fired twinkies. You would think they are just the same as the others, but the red and green just help give me that festive feeling. They are more delicious right now.

I was all prepared to go to the gym yesterday after school, then a few of the Senior Girls Volleyball team members asked me to stay for a bit so they could practice. I was feeling a little run down, so I decided to get a bit of a workout and practice with them. It was super fun. The girls were all really good and it was nice to give them some feedback, too. Their coach was sick on Tuesday and yesterday, so I felt as if I should help them out and not have them miss a practice day.

Today, I am at Immaculata, which is a Catholic High School about five minutes from my house. The school starts at 8:20, which is decent considering I only have to get up at the same time as I do when driving to Russell. Plus, it ends early, which means I can get to the gym much earlier, too! Hooray.

On top of all this, a good old friend received a teaching position at the school about a month ago. I haven't seen her in nearly a decade. Anyway, I surprised her this morning by walking into her class. She didn't know who I was for a second...! We still talk on Facebook every so often, but seeing each other in person is another thing! It was super nice. We had a nice little chat about the teaching world. Good times.

We should be reaching about 10c/50f again today. Another double digit day! The warmer weather should be around until Saturday. Hooray!

OK. I should walk around the room and make sure these students are actually working on their assignment. They've been pretty good thus far. Have a great Thursday, everyone! The first full weekend of the Christmas Season is nearly here!

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

Mature adult cats also "knead." My parents kept a folded blanket across the foot of their bed when I was little, and our cat LOVED to knead on that.

Yep. Simon jumps on the bed every morning and kneads the blankets on top of Kim or I, too. It's super cute!

It sounds tasty, and I have heard it is pretty good. I read somewhere a few years ago that that was a popular sandwich back early last century.
I did try a peanut butter & bacon burger when we were on vacation in Lake George this past summer. It was surprisingly good.
That's something I wouldn't mind trying sometime!

Good evening,

Another tough day fighting turkeys, I am starting to run out of some. My order never came in today, and I am stressed out over that.
I am heading to bed, the turkeys will be beckoning early tomorrow.

Goodnight, everyone.
Next week at this time: Revenge of the Frozen Turkey Wrangler! Keep your eyes on the prize!

Does anyone know why cats "knead"? I've never had a cat because I'm VERY allergic to them but I watch cat videos (don't we all?) and love seeing them do that.
I have read that it's a holdover from their kitten days: kittens will knead on their mother while they're nursing to increase the flow of milk. When they're adults, it's just a cozy, throwback thing they do. I can still see the kitty we had when I was little, kneading away. Maybe it's like meditation for cats!

(Crown beat me to the explanation!)

This is our vintage tree, I have collected mid century modern ornaments for the past year from estate sales, antique stores, etc. Family & friends have been a big help in spotting them, too. It's been a labor of love. I wanted to have a tree that reminded me of my childhood.
I also picked out some fabric from the 50's and found a lady who was happy to repurpose it and make me a tree skirt.
The atomic tree topper is from Poland.

Those candoliers were all over the place when I was little! We didn't have them, but you could see them all over the neighborhood, or ones very similar.

Pretty pleasant here yesterday with our high into the 60's, lots of sun and no precipitation of any kind.
Things should just keep getting better on through Saturday........before the bottom falls out!
We observe 45 calm and sunny degrees here currently, on our back door thermometer.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Folks.

I am making a cornucopia for Thanksgiving - everybody & their brother must be making cornucopia's b/c every store in this area is sold out of breadsticks. I have been to 3 different stores the last 3 nights - every one of them is wiped out! So last night I made some homemade bread stick dough & I'll try to put it together tonight! xx I did pick up a couple cans of French bread dough just incase my homemade doesn't work out! So that's the 1st Thanksgiving prep I have done! EEK - ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!!

Merry Christmas, everyone!!
You've lined up a good week there, glad for you. And nice of you to agree to stay on for the volleyball team. A lot of times, people don't realize just how much of their own time teachers give. Have a great day!

I know what you mean from hard to find stuff, my youngest wants a Hatchimal, and there are none to be found anywhere, unless you want to give an arm and a leg on eBay.
My daughter was talking about them too...the price of them on ebay is crazy!

Good morning friends

Have a great day x
Have a great day Irish!

Good Thursday morning! Woke up congested, sneezy and with a bit of a scratchy throat. I hope it's just allergies. My brother and father are coming over tonight for some pizza and a relaxing evening. We'll sort out plans for Christmas while they're here. My immediate family and in-laws consist of only my brother and father and David's two parents, so it makes for quite small gatherings. I'm ok with that. I just have to do a bit of tidying up and some vaccuuming before tonight. Wishing everyone a great day!
Have a great day Martine and hope you feel better!

Good Thursday Morning MMC! One week from today!! It's going to be awesome. Today is 3 months ago that I brought home Rollins. It honestly feels more like 3 years. One month from today my brother from San Diego arrives for Christmas. Everything is coming so fast and happening so fast. Not many "calm" days left in this year of 2016. Enjoy the calm before the Christmas storm!
Have a great day!
Happy Thursday, Edge!! I cannot believe how fast the days are flying by too!! :Lightening speed!

Have you ever tried peanut butter and bacon on toast? It's a good sandwich!
I love PB toast. Might have to try it with a piece of bacon.
