Hope everyone had a great day! Mike and I ended up going to Longhorn for lunch and walked the mall and Barnes and Noble. His parents fully broke down and bought a car seat so they can take Carolina places. Today they took her to Downtown Haddonfield to see the Christmas Decorations. They also bought her a couple of toys. She had a lot of fun with them.

We are home now and it seems to be sleeting. It got very cold very fast. I am going to curl up under a blanket with a Christmas movie on and read my nook for a little bit before bed.
A Magical Monday to you and yours NMC. Sounds like a very nice Saturday. Even the ending under a blanket is most enjoyable. I did that too, but it was due to a cold... :D
Enjoy this Thanksgiving week...

Good evening,

A busy day around the house, yet nothing Christmassy got done. :( I am so far behind on my decorating.
Back to work tomorrow, on which I am sure will be a busy day. We may get some snow tomorrow, but it is supposed to be mostly rain.

I hope you all enjoyed your Saturday.

Goodnight, everyone
Greetings Xmas. I trust the remainder of your weekend went very well. My decorating came to a halt as well due to unexpected events here, but I will not allow it to dampen the "Reason for the Season" spirit that fills me all year long.
Have a good day, a great week and a phenomenal holiday...

Bake, Bake, clean, clean. . . .until Thanksgiving Day. Things are getting very busy here. The china box was delivered today, for the Thanksgiving Day pig roast. I really hope my husband, brother and cousins can really roast this pig or it’s McDonalds for us all. :0) Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble till you wobble )
Hi there Riley. Is your McDonald's open on Thanksgiving? lol... just kidding, I am certain your dinner will turn out fantastic. Ours will be ham, turkey, smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, green bean casserole, crescent rolls and of course cranberry sauce and gravy.
Desserts will probably be French Silk pie, Pumpkin pie and perhaps a Lemon dream pie.
Have a memorable week...

Good Sunday morning! My last day of vacation, it just flew by. I could have used another week to be truthfull, but nothing I can do about that. Today I have to go change cell phones, my old one is becoming unresponsive. I hold on to electronics for as long as possible, it's an iPhone 4s to give you an idea. Other than that, no other outings, the plan is to just relax at home. It's going to be a much cooler day today before it gets downright cold tomorrow. Hoping everyone will have a great day!
Happy Monday morning to you Martine. My vacation is this week, up until Friday night. The first day (Sunday) began with me sleeping all day due to a cold. It is still hanging on a bit, but I refuse to let it keep me down all week. Have never had a cell phone, so unfortunately, I cannot relate, but I will assume that it is a few years old? Temps here have cooled down a lot, but I am hopeful that most of the snow will be gone this week so I can set all the outside decorations. They will go up either way, just easier if I can see the ground... lol
Have a fun day and a large cup of coffee...

Good morning ~
Happy Sunday!
Its going to be windy and cooler today with a chance of showers, highs near 44 degrees. Not too much going on here. There are a few things I want to do around the house to get it in order for Thanksgiving, it's so close now. I may run to the mall as well to pick up my daughters birthday gift. Other than that I'm going to try and take it easy. I know the beginning of the week will be quite hectic getting ready for the holiday!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Happy Monday HMG. I think I would take 44 today. I have a little running around to do and i want to get it all over this morning so I can relax a bit and prepare for Thursday. I also would love to get most the the interior decorating done this week. That way we can all relax and enjoy it.
Have a beautiful day, a quiet week and a memorable Thanksgiving...

Morning all and a Merry Sunday. Hopefully I'll get a bit of a catch up after a long week. Burning some Christmas candles and drinking coffee, it's that kinda day.
Howdy Tis. Sunday saw me sleeping and trying to kick whatever is attempting to interfere with my Thanksgiving week. ;)
Up and at em' now. Still can feel it in my throat and one or tow occasional coughs, but I'll make it. Hope your Sunday coffee was relaxing and your Monday coffee even better...

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 8 **

Good Morning, Season Revelers!

Well, Guys. We have now completed a full week of our long-awaited and much-coveted Christmas Season.
Has it been meeting your expectations? No?
Exceeding them, maybe??
(Let's hope it's the latter answer!)

Regardless, we proceed:
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 4 (Now barely over 1/2 A WEEK remains. Incredible!)
Days to Christmas Day: 35 (Five weeks from this very day!)
(I can nearly taste that turkey and cranberry sauce!)

Well, unfortunately, the weather service was on the money. After a beautiful morning and early afternoon yesterday (with a high of 77 degrees) things took an ominous turn. The skies darkened, the wind picked up and the temps began a steady declined which bottomed out this morning here at 34 degrees. Tonight's low is predicted at 27 and it will remain rather chilly until sometime into next week.
We have warmed a bit right now, up to 39.

Well, the Panthers pulled out a win on Thursday and are still in the running for their divisional championship, thanks to the less than stellar records of the other member teams.
We will see what the Packers can do this evening.

Have a Super Sunday, Folks!
Good Morning Crown. Congrats on your Panthers and sorry about your Packers. Looks like the Lions are in charge of that division right now. Even though I am not a huge Lions fan. I would have to say... it's about time.
You are still doing better in the temp area than we are. just hoping for some extra snow melt to get everything rearranged in the yard for Christmas. Thanks for all the updates and the countdown.
Enjoy your week and especially Thanksgiving...

OK Monday.jpg

Good Sunday Morning MMC! The days to Thanksgiving are dwindling. We usually are sad when the weekend ends but this time...it's actually exciting with the big week that is upon us. I know we all keep saying it's hard to believe how fast everything is going. Each step this time of year is so important now. Cherish every moment that you can. I know that's my plan...and having off from noon on Wednesday through Sunday will definitely help with that.
Today I'm going to catch up on homework and relax this evening. I need to be as caught up on everything by the end of today so that I can fully enjoy Thanksgiving week!
Have a great day!
Good Morning Edge. Three days remaining (minus a few hours) till Thanksgiving. I think I will make up the sausage gravy on Wednesday. It always seems to taste better to me after it has set for a day anyway and less fuss on Thursday morning. Homework huh? You will probably need to relax after that... lol I got the first portion of the week off and will not have to go back until 10PM Friday night.
Have a great day and don't forget the coffee...

Happy Sunday! I am enjoying a 2nd cup of coffee and relaxing. I need to run to the grocery store and my oldest daughter has a soccer game tonight. Hope you all have a great day!
Happy Monday SnowflakeMom. Doing my second cup right now and I also have to make a grocery store run to finish up gathering those things needed for the week. Here's hoping your daughter's team won and that she and you had a great time there.
Enjoy this Beautiful Monday...

I couldnt find a place to really put this post but,to a few that asked about Cards for Troops. Due to drawdowns in deployed troops,it becomes harder to send gifts and cards today. Only because the deployed troops are "specialized" and the deployed count is low. Still some places accept cards and packages to be sent overseas. Our local Red Cross wont take anything now for troops. But check your local Reserve/Guard units in case they are deployed. I included a link thats a all-in-one if you want to send stuff.

Welcome to "Stand Down Monday" Gunny. Your post reminded me of so many Christmas days I spent in the service. The worse had be on Guam, where they brought in a local Santa driving an Ox cart. Not trying to put it down or the spirit behind it, but to say it took me by surprise and caught me off-guard is putting it mildly. One of the best, was in Iceland and the way the USO (we had one there always) decorated the facility, the food, the movies, music and general Christmas spirit was as close to home as I felt in those days before I had a family of my own. I think I spent every free moment there.
Enjoy the day and your Thanksgiving my friend..

I have never baked Christmas cookies before and I think I might try it this year. Any suggestion?
Hey Stevie. I hate to say it, but when it comes to cookies, I use a mix. I never have understood how I can cook so well, but all my baking comes out weird (and usually heavy). The first batch of "from scratch" cookies I made each weighed around a pound.
But I do use a "mold" to make some of my cookies with, even a big one if I choose to make a cookie cake (so to speak). Either way enjoy the experience and the sharing...

This is my daughter watching her first Santa Claus Parade. She loved the floats, especially Santa Claus's float.
Good Morning Mike... you just can't beat those types of memories. Just think of how many more she (as you) will be able to enjoy in the years to come.
Have a fun Monday...

Good Morning MMC friends. Where to begin? I was preparing to go to my friend's funeral on Wednesday when I got a call from work saying my wife had fallen in the parking lot. I and our daughter got here and brought her home, but something was still not right, so we called her doctor and she informed us to take her to the ER ASAP. After examination, it was determined she had acute Kidney failure and needed to be hospitalized. She stayed there from Wednesday until Saturday. After all the tests and time, it was decided by the doctors that she had picked up some type of virus that was affecting her kidneys (as they came back to normal on Thursday). Needless to say however, my week was up and down. Visiting her in the room, taking care of things at home, working and trying to get a little sleep here and there. I basically did okay, but obviously time on the computer and this very special site had to be put on hold.
She is home now and will see her regular doctor on Tuesday. She hopes to be back at work on Wednesday, but we will see. I can sympathize, as I hate just laying around myself. A bit of a cold hit me on Friday and I did battle with it, resulting in a Sunday sleeping all day with the help of Daddy NyQuil.
I am off now until Friday night at 10PM, so I plan on finishing any shopping this morning and then spending time between some TV with my wife and a little decorating. I also want to replace that four foot section on the roof that is out, but we will see how that goes...
I hope you all had a great weekend and this week will be even better for one and all... take care.

Now on to the gingerbread house building fun !

Winter has arrived compete with snow squall warnings. It is -3 this morning (26f) with a much colder wind chill -9c (15f). So glad I have auto start on my van so it can defrost a bit before I have to get in.

Hope you all have a fantastically wonderful day !

Oh my goodness, how scary. I'm so glad your wife is on the mend. I hope she's back to feeling 100% soon. I will keep the both of you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your week goes well.

Star the cake is beautiful, as always. Congrats! Good luck with the gingerbread house!
Keep warm and have a wonderful day!

Good morning ~
Happy Thanksgiving week!
I've been up for quite some time, Maggie was so restless last night. No time to be tired, lots to do today. I have to pick up a couple of things at Bed, Bath & Beyond for Thanksgiving and I must finish birthday gift shopping for my daughter. I have a bit of cleaning to do as well. Tomorrow I will finish up my food shopping and I'll start cooking, baking and prepping on Wednesday!
I hope everyone is well and has a very Happy Monday!
