We always found a way to celebrate Christmas, even when I was having lights shipped to me in October..lol. We even got a C130 once filled with trees from the states that flew pretty much non stop to get them to us. Everyone always knew Christmas was at my house whenever we got back..for real.Welcome to "Stand Down Monday" Gunny. Your post reminded me of so many Christmas days I spent in the service. The worse had be on Guam, where they brought in a local Santa driving an Ox cart. Not trying to put it down or the spirit behind it, but to say it took me by surprise and caught me off-guard is putting it mildly. One of the best, was in Iceland and the way the USO (we had one there always) decorated the facility, the food, the movies, music and general Christmas spirit was as close to home as I felt in those days before I had a family of my own. I think I spent every free moment there.
Enjoy the day and your Thanksgiving my friend..

Good morning HMG. I slept so long in Sunday that I wound up waking and getting up at 1:30AM. Hope you find the perfect gift for your daughter. Enjoy the prep work and hopefully it will leave you plenty of time to enjoy the remainder of the week (especially at Thanksgiving).Good morning ~
Happy Thanksgiving week!
I've been up for quite some time, Maggie was so restless last night. No time to be tired, lots to do today. I have to pick up a couple of things at Bed, Bath & Beyond for Thanksgiving and I must finish birthday gift shopping for my daughter. I have a bit of cleaning to do as well. Tomorrow I will finish up my food shopping and I'll start cooking, baking and prepping on Wednesday!
I hope everyone is well and has a very Happy Monday!

Thanks Crown! Happy Thanksgiving Week!** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 9 **
Good Morning, Thanksgiving Week Friends!
Ah, yes. This is indeed one of the most coveted weeks of the year.
Food
Family
Football
Feting
It's almost as if we temporarily step away from Christmas and enter the Thanksgiving Season for a week!
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 3 (Now LESS than HALF a week left to Turkey Day!)
Days to Christmas Day: 34 (UNDER five weeks remain!)
And this past Saturday, Santa arrived at Crabtree Valley Mall.
(Say. All is right with the world, now!)
A chilly, windy day yesterday lent itself to encouraging indoor activity.
It will warm up just a bit by Thanksgiving but a seasonal "nip" should remain.
We are currently at 33 cold but sunny and calm degrees here in the capital town.
Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone.
And I hope this Holiday Week is off to a great start for you!
I hope your wife feels much better soonGood Morning MMC friends. Where to begin? I was preparing to go to my friend's funeral on Wednesday when I got a call from work saying my wife had fallen in the parking lot. I and our daughter got here and brought her home, but something was still not right, so we called her doctor and she informed us to take her to the ER ASAP. After examination, it was determined she had acute Kidney failure and needed to be hospitalized. She stayed there from Wednesday until Saturday. After all the tests and time, it was decided by the doctors that she had picked up some type of virus that was affecting her kidneys (as they came back to normal on Thursday). Needless to say however, my week was up and down. Visiting her in the room, taking care of things at home, working and trying to get a little sleep here and there. I basically did okay, but obviously time on the computer and this very special site had to be put on hold.
She is home now and will see her regular doctor on Tuesday. She hopes to be back at work on Wednesday, but we will see. I can sympathize, as I hate just laying around myself. A bit of a cold hit me on Friday and I did battle with it, resulting in a Sunday sleeping all day with the help of Daddy NyQuil.
I am off now until Friday night at 10PM, so I plan on finishing any shopping this morning and then spending time between some TV with my wife and a little decorating. I also want to replace that four foot section on the roof that is out, but we will see how that goes...
I hope you all had a great weekend and this week will be even better for one and all... take care.

Thank you.I hope your wife feels much better soon
That's the way my mom always made them ... with walnuts in them. From our very own English walnut tree in the backyard! Thanks for the advice! To make the cookies more Christmas like, I might puts some wallnuts in the cookies.
What a great idea! Stuffing instead of bread or bread crumbs! I'm sure that WAS fantastic! I want to try that sometime.Greetings Auntie. It would be nice if we had some type of Christmas shop here, even if only for the season. I still visit places like Michael's and Hobby Lobby (to name a few) and see what they have each year. The biggest problem I find is that I already have so much in the way of decorations, that I have to kind of rotate what I put up each year.
Speaking about meatloaf, I tried a little something different and tossed in some stuffing instead of all the other ingredients (along with an egg and a little milk)... it was fantastic.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving week...

I hope that cold of yours is gone this morning.Happy Monday Merry. I trust the Chocolate Chip ones came out perfectly. Been a very busy last week for me and that along with a minor cold has slowed me down a bit, but hopefully that is on the way out. I am off until Friday mid-shift. And Wal-Mart does not do anything for the holiday anyway, and so I am not missing anything.
Hope you had a relaxing Sunday...
