Hello MMC friends,
I always love reading the threads at this time of year to see what everybody's up to !

I have my humble but beautiful little Christmas tree up now, it's so relaxing to watch the blinking lights...

Wishing everybody a fantastic weekend

ms Rose xo
Awe, enjoy your tree & lights! So peaceful!

I couldnt find a place to really put this post but,to a few that asked about Cards for Troops. Due to drawdowns in deployed troops,it becomes harder to send gifts and cards today. Only because the deployed troops are "specialized" and the deployed count is low. Still some places accept cards and packages to be sent overseas. Our local Red Cross wont take anything now for troops. But check your local Reserve/Guard units in case they are deployed. I included a link thats a all-in-one if you want to send stuff.

Thanks for the link!!

Good morning! Not too much on the agenda for today. Do some laundry, watch the Browns' game, get ready for a two day school week, go grocery shopping this evening. Three of those items barely requires me to move.;)
The grocery shopping will be the adventure for the day though. We will do our Thanksgiving dinner shopping. Plus, this year we are hosting two Thanksgiving dinners.
The turkeys are ordered and I will pick them up Wednesday morning. For the last several years we have gone to a local turkey farm to get fresh turkey. I am amazed at how much easier they are to cook and the taste is amazing. Plus it supports a local business which is always a nice bonus. The cost is a bit much, but I think it is worth it.
Everyone enjoy the day! Time to go get some more coffee!
Good luck with prepping for your Thanksgiving gatherings!!! I do enjoy going to the grocery this time of year...but this week I will go to a smaller local grocer...not Kroger or a crazy busy place. LOL

I have never baked Christmas cookies before and I think I might try it this year. Any suggestion?
Not sure if you baked cookies already but I came across this gem a few years ago. Mmmm

Peanut Butter Brownie Cookies – Hometown Christmas 2010 – DELICIOUS!

Bake, Bake, clean, clean. . . .until Thanksgiving Day. Things are getting very busy here. The china box was delivered today, for the Thanksgiving Day pig roast. I really hope my husband, brother and cousins can really roast this pig or it’s McDonalds for us all. :0) Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble till you wobble )
Hope it turns out well!!! Good luck!!!

Hi there Riley. Is your McDonald's open on Thanksgiving? lol... just kidding, I am certain your dinner will turn out fantastic. Ours will be ham, turkey, smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, green bean casserole, crescent rolls and of course cranberry sauce and gravy.
Desserts will probably be French Silk pie, Pumpkin pie and perhaps a Lemon dream pie.
Have a memorable week...

Your meal sounds nearly identical to ours!!! Except we are having Jalapeno Corn Casserole instead of regular corn! :) No ham, burn 'n serves instead of crescents & and our desserts are Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Lava Cake. Ok, well ALMOST identical! :D :p

Good Morning MMC friends. Where to begin? I was preparing to go to my friend's funeral on Wednesday when I got a call from work saying my wife had fallen in the parking lot. I and our daughter got here and brought her home, but something was still not right, so we called her doctor and she informed us to take her to the ER ASAP. After examination, it was determined she had acute Kidney failure and needed to be hospitalized. She stayed there from Wednesday until Saturday. After all the tests and time, it was decided by the doctors that she had picked up some type of virus that was affecting her kidneys (as they came back to normal on Thursday). Needless to say however, my week was up and down. Visiting her in the room, taking care of things at home, working and trying to get a little sleep here and there. I basically did okay, but obviously time on the computer and this very special site had to be put on hold.
She is home now and will see her regular doctor on Tuesday. She hopes to be back at work on Wednesday, but we will see. I can sympathize, as I hate just laying around myself. A bit of a cold hit me on Friday and I did battle with it, resulting in a Sunday sleeping all day with the help of Daddy NyQuil.
I am off now until Friday night at 10PM, so I plan on finishing any shopping this morning and then spending time between some TV with my wife and a little decorating. I also want to replace that four foot section on the roof that is out, but we will see how that goes...
I hope you all had a great weekend and this week will be even better for one and all... take care.

Now on to the gingerbread house building fun !

Winter has arrived compete with snow squall warnings. It is -3 this morning (26f) with a much colder wind chill -9c (15f). So glad I have auto start on my van so it can defrost a bit before I have to get in.

Hope you all have a fantastically wonderful day !
Beautiful cake Star!!! Congrats!! Good luck with the gingerbread house!
Hope you are having a great day - stay warm!

Good morning ~
Happy Thanksgiving week!
I've been up for quite some time, Maggie was so restless last night. No time to be tired, lots to do today. I have to pick up a couple of things at Bed, Bath & Beyond for Thanksgiving and I must finish birthday gift shopping for my daughter. I have a bit of cleaning to do as well. Tomorrow I will finish up my food shopping and I'll start cooking, baking and prepping on Wednesday!
I hope everyone is well and has a very Happy Monday!
Praying Maggie is having a good day & she has a better night!! xx
I know how you feel. I have had a sinus headache all day. I took more meds a couple hours ago & I'm feeling better now. To much to do tonight to be tired/headachy!! I don't think I have ever been so chillaxed when having 40 people coming over in THREE days - need to get my rear in gear. LOL! Good luck with your prep. So exciting!
Happy Thanksgiving Week!

** CHRISTMAS SEASON 2016 DAY 9 **

Good Morning, Thanksgiving Week Friends!

Ah, yes. This is indeed one of the most coveted weeks of the year.
Food
Family
Football
Feting
It's almost as if we temporarily step away from Christmas and enter the Thanksgiving Season for a week!

Days to Thanksgiving Day: 3 (Now LESS than HALF a week left to Turkey Day!)
Days to Christmas Day: 34 (UNDER five weeks remain!)
And this past Saturday, Santa arrived at Crabtree Valley Mall.
(Say. All is right with the world, now!)

A chilly, windy day yesterday lent itself to encouraging indoor activity.
It will warm up just a bit by Thanksgiving but a seasonal "nip" should remain.
We are currently at 33 cold but sunny and calm degrees here in the capital town.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone.
And I hope this Holiday Week is off to a great start for you!
Isn't that the truth!?
Hope you're having a good day crown!

Good morning! Today I have some errands to do before I get ready for work. Luckily my dad is off so I don't have to drag Carolina out in the cold at all. I have to run to Walmart to purchase Carolina's last Christmas gift. She is getting a bike. I will pay for it today and have the bike guys at Walmart put it together for me. Then it will sit in my aunts garage until Christmas eve night
Awe - I bet she will be excited! Have a good day NMC!

Good Monday Morning MMC! The big week is here! Thanksgiving week. Everyone ready for it? I am working 2.5 days this week as we're leaving noon on Wednesday. It's one of my favorite weeks of the year. We got an inch of snow last night. Not terrible compared to Gunny. Just enough to make it feel like the holidays and that wind out there makes it feel like winter for sure. Hoping the rain they are predicting for the parade doesn't happen.
Everyone have a great day!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving like weather!!! Hope your 2 1/2 days of work go quickly! Have a good afternoon/evening!

Happy New Week, everyone!

We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning ... which was a little surprise! It's in the low 30s and a bit nippy, so it's starting to feel like Thanksgiving outdoors. I got my crown re-cemented early this morning, so I'll be in good shape for the office Thanksgiving at lunchtime. (I'll have to go easy when chewing on that side for today, though!) And the receptionist told me a shortcut (with no traffic!) to get directly to the route I take to work, so I wasn't even late.

Here it is Thanksgiving week, and I still can hardly believe it's so close. This weekend was a whirl. I don't know how I'm going to get everything done before Christmas, but it always happens somehow!
Glad to hear you found a short cut to work & you weren't late!! Hope your office Thanksgiving was nice & yummy! Have a good day MC!

Merry Monday Holiday! Great danes are adorable. My husband had 2 growing...Gretchen and Gretel. My MIL said they were the sweetest dogs and would take up an entire couch when they would lay down...lol
Hope your Mom feels better!
Gretchen & Gretel = cute! Yes, they are adorable & so sweet! They think they are lap dogs. I have another niece who has one that is around 3 years old - big sweet moose! :)
I stopped at Moms at lunch. She seemed better! Thanks!
Prayers for your Dad. I hope they find the cause soon & get him back to 100% in time for Thanksgiving! My SIL's mom just had a transfusion a couple weeks ago for the same reason. What a difference that made.
Have a good day!
